“Paying our Respects”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

As ex-service persons we went to pay our respects to a recently departed friend. The Cascade Gardens location is so peaceful and the ideal place to remember those who are no longer with us. The upkeep is a credit to the gardens staff.

“Very Nice Memorial in a Lovely Park Setting”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

This is a very nice memorial.
Found by exploring the Cascade Gardens during early morning walk.
Requires another visit to inspect all the plaques etc.

“Peaceful time to reflect”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Not many people know about the Korean War Memorial. It is in the middle of the Cascade Gardens Park (Broadbeach close to Surfers Paradise). It is away from the play park and BBQ areas and surrounded by trees. Very peaceful but sadly visited by few it seems. Worth a time to visit and reflect.

“"Stunning Memorial"”
Reviewed 5 April 2013

We were staying up the road when one morning we decided to have a stroll around the park as we had seen it when driving by. We could see the stonework on entering but didn't know what it was until we got up to it. I found the whole thing amazing as it was jointly funded by the Republic of Korea and the Australian Federal & Queensland State Goverment & Australian War Veterans & Gold Coast Council.
It is one of the best if not the best modern memorials i've seen!! The pictures you see only give you a flavour of it, the setting is beautifull , very moving tribute to brave lads.

“It's a place quite underestimated.”
Reviewed 27 March 2013

A place a bit unusual, I think it's one of the few places in the Gold Coast where there are no tourists.
This Memorial is completely immersed in a beautiful park, manicured gardens and trees, with all the services available even the BBQ.
Between Surfers Paradise and Broadbech, in my opinion this is a place a little 'overlooked, really beautiful, walking through this spot there the two monuments to the fallen of the war between Australia and Korea.
In addition to this I feel compelled to mention that a few tens of meters away there is a colony of "Flying Fox" (as they call them here), or the giant fox bats are harmless, but there are, and during daylight hours perched on the tops of tall trees, a bit scary but worth to get there.
