We'd heard about la Frasquita, and finally got around to trying it recently. We didn't book, not even sure if you can, but dining relatively early we had no problem getting a table. Make no mistake, the decor, tables, chairs are all pretty basic, but clean and presentable with a nice view across the beach to the sea. There is no menu...the owner will simply bring out a large platter of fresh fish, and you choose what you would like. While you enjoy your drinks your selection is cooked, and served with Canarian potatoes and a simple salad. My wife and I shared so large, unknown (to us!) fish, whilst our dining companions had the octopus and tuna. All of it was beautifully cooked, and they were generous portions. By the time we left the place was filing up, and it was perhaps telling that the rest of the diners were all Spanish, it's clearly popular with the locals. So, if you fancy a bit of authentic Spanish cooking and don't mind the slightly basic setting, la Frasquita is certainly worth trying. Not necessarily cheap, but not the most expensive place to eat either. Just don't expect anything other than fish, or ask for the veggie options!
