“Great stay”
Reviewed 24 January 2014

Arrived at the resort early, so were given our all inclusive wristbands and told we could visit the snack bar near the pool. The snack bar food is pretty average: burgers, chips, rolls. There was a bar and bartender and there was dispensers for soft drinks (fanta lemon is so good!) and a beer and a few wines. And slushes. We then were given our room key however were not happy with our room standard, so went to the reception and requested different rooms. The staff were happy to change our rooms, so I reccomend doing this, and getting rooms on the 2nd block. The pools were always clean, salt water pools were great, however not good for serious swimmers, however there is a chlorine pool near the 2,000 rooms, which wasn't really busy. The resort was always so clean, and so was Fuerteventura. The wifi is very cheap however the areas you could access it from are limited. The food was good, was very pleased with the all inclusive buffet, breakfast lunch and dinner. The non-alcoholic cocktails and alcoholic were great, bartenders were lovely. Definitely will return for a chill holiday again. Recommend Fado Rock's and the waterpark at Corralejo. Also recommend the Irish bar just a short walk from the hotel, and there is some lovely tourist shops.

Absolutely Fantastic Week! The check in staff were very flexible as we requested a room near to our friends and were put in a bungalow only a stones throw from them. the hotel and accommodation, pool and grounds were immaculate and there were plenty of staff working continuously to maintain them to this high standard.

The food was superb, plenty of choice and the staff were very attentive, assisting wherever they could - we were with friends who had children and all the staff interacted with them.

the pools whilst a little chilly had plenty of space to lounge and play, our friends actually taught their daughter to swim whilst we were there, a great sense of community with all the guests, happy to have a chat and exchange recommendations of places to dine out etc.

great mixture of nationalities as well.

the hotel complex is right on the beach front and it took us no more than 3 minutes to walk from our bungalow to the beach, less than that to walk to a pool! out of one of the many gates we were five minutes from bars and restaurants which again were all very friendly and for some strange reason insisted on giving us a shot of some spirit when we paid. very reasonable prices as well.

bungalow room was generous size for two of us, very clean and housekeeping was very prompt. any problems were dealt with immediately - not that we had any ourselves.

i cannot praise this place enough and for the time of year the weather was great, mid 20s all week and still mild in the evenings, it was very peaceful in the evening as well!

we have already looked to book to return next year

one word of warning though, the market isn't worth a visit - full of cheap rubbish nothing traditional or authentic - if you want a fake football shirt or knock off watch then go but we were thoroughly put off.

Room Tip: all rooms are great however if you can ask for one of the beach front complex as the entire complex...

We have just returned from a holiday here with our 3 year old grandson. The weather was not the best which made it more important that the Hotel provided things to do for a 3 year old. They failed to deliver. Given that the weather prevented much play on the beach my grandson just wanted a playground. We had to go out of the complex for this. Last year we stayed at the Atlantis suites in Corrolejo, I wish we had returned there, as the entertainment team worked tirelessly to ensure that all holidaymakers were happy and entertained. This Hotel fell very short for us. I would send the entertainment team to Atlantis for training and motivation techniques. There were some good things, The Heated Pool was a godsend, at least we could go swimming daily. The food was OK but the system for getting a table in the restaurant was farcical. Antonio, the Head Waiter was very nice and tried hard to sort things out. We had a tv in the room which had some English channels, another bonus. It was also a great location. Not enough bars for all inclusive, if you are at the heated pool prepare for a 5 minute trek to get a drink. Small dingy entertainment stage and bar, luckily most people don't bother going to watch the evening show. Hotel ok just not enough for a three year old to do, in fact, not enough bars restaurants or meeting places, especially in bad weather. Expected better..

Just back from our third trip to this resort. We got the room we requested so we were happy. No cockroaches or creepy crawlies. The resort is lovely, great beach. The restaurant serves an amazing array of foods for breakfast but there is a queue for coffee and the toaster is a challenge. The restaurant was very busy in January when a lot of the apartments were empty. I imagine it would be a squeeze in summer months. Now the evening buffet is not brilliant. On one occasion they served a lovely roast of lamb but nothing suitable to go with it, Loads of different things on offer but none amazingly good. They would do better to do less dishes but do them to a higher standard. Staff are pleasant but very busy. Juan Carlos is still serving guests with a smile and a joke while still clearing tablets at speed. Will definitely go back again. They need to do something about the wifi. Still charging 7 euro per day. 25euro per week. Its not brilliant and you usually have to stay in reception to use it.

Room Tip: Not the 3,000 rooms

having read a few trip adviser reviews i had a few doubts about this place boy was i wrong. My partner & i travelled xmas day for 2 weeks with my son daughter in law & grandaughter aged 5.We booked it all independantly Monarch flights & accomodation online. We checked in staff were very helpful you got a swipe card with no room numbers on for added security.we were in bungalow 1066 across the road from reception & resteraunt. The bungalows have had a full refurb all very modern & nice, separate lounge;sofa ,chair, table & chairs t.v the tv was annoying kept freezing or no reception on english channels my husband likes to watch the news for football results!! ,bathroom shower loo sink hairdryer.Kitchen had 2 electric rings kettle toaster microwave & all utensils,we were b&b but you could do snacks & cuppas etc so best of both worlds, bedroom 2 beds pushed together & fitted wardrobes, everywhere was spotless didnt see 1 cockroach the whole stay! The only negative thing i can say is the lighting in the bungalows was very dim,the reception called it relaxing lighting i called it diificult to see lighting ha!ha!
Caleta de fueste is a lovely family place, lots of places to dine & drink the best places we ate at were Grill & garden,Nestors, no.15 & Tapas & indian resteraunt, its very reasonable to eat out for instance a huge seafod platter with bottle of house wine at Grill & garden 25 euros amazing.there are a couple of bakeries everything lovely & fresh.Theres a bar 2 min walk called Legends dedicated to Man utd you could watch the footie during the day or elvis etc at night the place is a shrine to 60's memoribilla beatles, who, stones etc & loads of Man utd & football mementos the guy who owns it is originally from Wythenshawe (manchester)was in the band the Mindbenders.
The resort gets very chilly at night take a cardigan i had to buy one! & its quite windy during the day.

We went to the sister hotel each evening as they had shows on entertainment was excellent drinks were quite pricey.

I would reccomend Barcelo castillo for all ages no outsiders can get on the site as the swipe cards open all gates truly a lovely place to stay, has plenty of swimming pools a snackbar ice cream stall shop etc childrens activities.

We got a bus to Corralejo large main road into it shopping malls resteraunts etc very busy, On the seafront it looked very much Cornish lots of cafe bars resteraunts etc.much preffered Caleta de fueste more laidback, beaches are manmade sand from Saudi beds& umberellas 9 euros a day

Room Tip: bungalows on the reception side of road are near the sandy beach opposite side of road more shaded

This was self catering at its best. Asked for a sea facing room near reception and got room 2053 which was very big, spotlessly clean, large private patio, large shower and right on beach. Thanks to all the staff for their help efficiency and friendliness. We usually avoid buffet restaurant dinners but the variety and quality provided on the night we ate here was so good we went back twice more. We were entitled to a free glass of wine each but nobody told us. The complex is huge so it took a while to find things.

Have been in lots of hotels and apartments, but this was the best, excellent value. We were in one of the new delux studios, ultra modern and comfortable. The apartment had everything including 2 large wallmounted tv's with English channels. The bed was festooned with large comfy cushions, and the mattress was divine. The food was of a good standard. Would thoroughly recommend. First class
