Just returned from a wonderful week at Villa Amarillo! A fantastic March escape from the English drizzle with temperatures in the mid 20s everyday and the famous Fuerteventura breeze for freshness.
From the start, communication with the villa owner was friendly and efficient and on arrival Pete was there to show us around and even give the younger members of the party advice on the local nightlife! The villa really was spotless and well equipped with everything needed for the six of us. We made full use of the pool, which was fortunately heated during our stay, and appreciated the number of sunbeds and plentiful outdoor seating for lazy days in the sun. The place is excellently maintained - Pete popped in several times during the week to check the pool, but always let us know in advance, and we had two visits from the gardening team, who obviously do a great job caring for the fabulous tropical trees and shrubs which make this such a beautiful retreat.
This villa is on a development of similar properties that rings the golf course just outside the main resort of Caleta de Fuste. We were struck by the neatness and cleanliness of the local area and the friendliness of the neighbours - and in fact virtually everyone we met - and enjoyed the 15 minute walk to the beach or the Atlantico shopping centre (with large Spar supermarket) and 30 minute stroll to the centre.
Caleta de Fuste is a lovely family resort with a superb curved bay of golden sand. It was fairly quiet when we visited - a large chunk of the resort is taken up by the huge Barcelo complex of several hotels - and we felt we had the run of the restaurants, perhaps because so many visitors were all-inclusive. This is a purpose-built resort with a good mixture of bars and restaurants - not a party resort at all. We had a great evening meal at KMZero and enjoyed lunches on the beach at Aamara (superb pizzas and club sandwiches!) We succumbed to an English breakfast just once during our stay!
Ideal villa and location for a relaxing holiday in very pleasant surroundings!
We had a lovely week weather wise and were lucky as weather just before we arrived was bad and apparently was going to be bad the week after we left.it was freezing cold out and about though at night and we were glad to get back to the villa.the villa was like home from home with washing machine dishwasher iron etc,so we were able to keep washing down which was great with 4 youngsters.THe swimming pool was brilliant and one of the best comparing to the ones just being built with all the new villas.kids loved it and were happy to play in pool which saved us money as we were prepared to take them to the water park.the villa was very clean and a nice chap (pete)was there almost daily to check on pool and clean it.the only downfall was the walk down to the beach and shops, but taxis were quite cheap.will defiantly book again.
wow wow wow! visited here as a family in November. The villa is a home from home with everything you need. inside and out are spotless it's only a 10/15 min walk to local amenities and restaurants.
taxis are next to nothing wifi is free and the pool is amazing and clean!
I would definitely recommend to others and would return in a heartbeat!
big shout out to Pete the pool man what a great bloke !
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Amarillo, booking process good and we found the villa really clean and tidy upon arrival - the outside areas were also cleaned mid way through our stay and the pool was tended to regularly by the friendly team looking after the place.
The pool heating was perfect and definitely made bathing enjoyable in the decent-sized pool.
We were with my Mum who has a few mobility issues and the villa layout was perfect for her with a walk-in shower in the main bathroom and the interior all on one level.
Although some of the furniture and fittings could maybe do with an update, we felt this was reflected in a competitive price compared to other properties, and key stuff like the kitchen and bathrooms seemed more modern which was good.
We really enjoyed the outdoor areas in particular (including the roof terrace with pleasant views over the golf course on one side).
Although it is walking distance to Caleta de Fuste and the nearest shopping area we felt a hire car was useful - for which there was plenty of parking outside, although local taxis are plentiful and cheap.
We found the surrounding area to be quiet and although the villa is just off a road the noise from this was very minimal indeed.
Thanks Lisa and team for our nice November break!
I've stayed here twice before and absolutely love villa amarillo, walking distance from beach, shops, bars etc..
This place is amazing so private and peaceful. Its spotlessly clean and you can see its well looked after and it has everything you need from infants to the elderly I've been with both. Literally would recommend to anyone to thinking about going. I am dying to go back with the family.
Visited Villa Amarilla during school half term October / November, 2017 and left disappointed in our choice of property due to the general standard of the furnishings. The photographs provided in the listing do not represent the reality at the property.
We were not expecting the Ritz - however, neither were we expecting cushions ripped open, broken patio furniture, incredibly stained sun loungers and a rusted BBQ with utensils covered in grease.
We made the owner aware of these issues and the local agent simply removed (not replaced) the BBQ utensils and the ripped bench cushions. This affected our ability to enjoy an afternoon BBQ and evening drinks at the property, as the wooden benches without the cushions are understandably not the most comfortable by their very nature.
Due to the standard of some of the sun loungers at the property, our party spent more time at the beach than we had envisaged during our stay, which was not our intention on booking.
