Very clean and comfortable hotel. Large restaurant which can get noisy. Great poolside facilities however pool exceptional cold (June/July!!). Animation staff work very hard. Dont upgrade to a superior room as for the £400+ you only get free wifi and pool side towels. Had a great relaxing holiday and would recommend for families.

We arrived after a delayed flight at around 9.30pm to a very chaotic check in, there were no queues just bundles of people trying to get to the front and not enough staff on reception. The manager was flying around telling people they could go and have dinner (but only had half hour as closes at 10pm) and to leave bags and check in later. Personally, after a long flight, we just wanted to check in, unpack and get some sleep - this wasn't happening anytime soon what with the chaos of checking in!

Once checked in we were pleasantly surprised with the room - we paid for superior, which it most certainly was. Little plate of chocolates, bottled water in the fridge, toiletries and kits, robes, slippers and pool towels (which are normally chargeable) added nice touches. The room included a sea view, which we got a little bit but not a decent view. This did not matter for us though, as we did not spend much time on he balcony. For reference, we stayed in room 3239.

Breakfast is as you expect, standard continental and cooked but to be honest, we've experienced better. Lunch is very disappointing compared to other Barcelo hotels on the island with very little choice and not much standard or plain food - definitely not very child friendly food for lunch anyway. Dinner is a lot better but often found myself in the dedicated kids section (strange how they have this for dinner but not lunch!) with chicken and chips as other choices were limited and not appealing. Very disappointed with food overall, especially when other Barcelo hotels offer a wide variety. Food quality was one of the main reasons we chose another Barcelo hotel, as thought you would get what you expect with a set standard being maintained.

Pool and surrounding areas are pleasant, beach is a bit stony for us but clean and not overcrowded. All activities have to be paid for e.g. Mini golf, tennis etc. but if you opt for superior room you will get free access to the spa (which is oddly located outside of the hotel grounds!)

Entertainment staff are friendly enough but do not harass you to join in which is nice.
Restaurant staff are friendly but if honest, they should either operate a 'help yourself' drinks policy like other chains or ensure there are enough staff to ask you for refills - you find yourself a seat and then the staff come over and fill out a order tab and get your your drink. This has taken as long as 10minutes. Often found ourselves without a drink halfway through the meal and not once offered a refill.
Maids are efficient and do a great job in the room but come at various times in the day (no set rota or time) so you have to judge when you will be able to get back in your room. Also be aware that the maid will clean and tidy up your dressing table, pilling up brochures, papers etc.

Along with the superior room, you are presented with free wifi for the stay. This is great, as meant we could keep in touch with everyone back home. We asked for two codes on check in for both us of which was no issue. Unfortunately the wifi signal was shocking in our room and was not strong enough to connect. Everywhere else was great, nice and quick by the pool and reception. I did mention this to reception for anyone staying in our room in the future.

Overall, not a bad stay but very much doubt we would return. There are definitely better hotels on the island!

On paper this hotel ticks every box. Location, food, rooms and the staff are first class. A huge bed and a few english channels on tv were a real bonus.
So what's the problem? I hear you ask.
Well it's the way that the pool (sunbeds) and the bar area is laid out in such a regimented way. The positioning of the sunbeds is invasive because you are laid very close to each other. The bar area is in a theater style which makes it difficult to be sociable with other families as you can't sit around a table.
Ok not enough to spoil a holiday but it makes the difference between me awarding the hotel a four star and not the five star that many others have.

It was our first visit to Fuerteventura and we liked that the hotel was in a good location near to shops and restuarants etc..
Check in was smooth and problem free and the staff were very polite and well mannered. We had a room in block 2 room 2205 which was easy access to the lifts and reception and pool and restaurant. Room very spacious with a massive bed and very comfy.. Was looking forward to the bed as the Barceló in Tenerife had great beds too..

The food was plentiful and yes I agree with some comments that it felt like a canteen at times, however this cannot be helped as this is the only eating place for the whole of the hotel especially in the evening. I have stayed a 5 star luxury hotels in Turkey and found the food here more to my liking. We did eat out a few times to have a change and ate in the wild west and the Italian that is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We were here from the 14th-28th June and all inclusive so nice to have different surrounding to eat in.

Animation team were superb with their endless energy and a a real credit to the hotel.. Some shows were very good and a few a bit cheesy but not terrible.
The staff worked very hard and was very efficient especially the waiters in the lobby and during the shows in the evening.

A lovely walk from the hotel down to the marina and lovely ice cream down there too..

my only gripe is that they are currently refurbishing the hotel for it to become a platinum hotel next year and the work was very noisy at times if you fancied a siesta later in the day. the work being carried out was right below our room. I was informed by the hotel manager that this is gradual maintenance being carried out and unfortunately this has to be carried out and have been offered a free upgrade if we return in the future. I will be returning in the future and we don't usually return to the same hotel twice. Enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: block 2 if anyone has mobility problems as its near all amenities

Arrived back this morning. What a lovely hotel, i really cant praise it enough. The hotel itself is huge!!! Absolutely loved everything about it!!! it would be really hard to find a fault and if i did then i would just be being picky. Yes there was a bit of building work going on around the block 2 area in which my self and my partner stayed but we were not inconvenienced at all. The hotel is including some new suites in block two which include spa baths on the balcony area. when finished these rooms will be gorgeous as we managed to have sneaky peak with one of the builders there and to say they will be impressive will be an understatement. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean everywhere, from the toilets to the restaurants to the bar and reception areas. The bedrooms are comfortable....the beds are huge!!! loads of pillows and cushions too!. The food was delicious! everything from full english at breakfast to steak and chips at lunch. Something for everyone and if anybody moans about the food then i must say they are extremely picky as the hotel catered for EVERYONES taste. Theme nights went down especially well. We never had to wait for a table in the restaurant even in the evening when it seemed the most busiest, The waiters and bar staff work so hard to keep your drinks and tables tidy. A special mention to YASMIR the bar/waiter. Such a lovely hardworking employee who always offers a smile and a cheery "ola" no matter what time of day. He certainly goes that extra mile to ensure you have a pleasant holiday. When we arrived for our 12 days stay, we couldnt believe how many sunbeds where offered....therefore we never found it hard to get a sunbed even late in the afternoon. The hotel is located right on the beach with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants A lovely relaxing holiday where you honestly dont have to do much as the staff completely take over to ensure you have a really enjoyable stay.
Would i return to the Barcelo??????....definately!!! Did i have a fab holiday??????...... Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 2309 which had a lovely view of the main activity pool, the sea and the mountains...

This is a good hotel in a lovely location in relation to the beach and local shops. However, the food, although good, is very repetitive with very little choice e.g. pork was on the menu for lunch and dinner on 5 of our 7 days. The swimming pools look very inviting but are extremely cold - in fact the sea was a lot warmer! The room was not cleaned thoroughly and the bedding was not changed despite being stained. Hand basin and bath was never wiped over. The all-inclusive drinks were very good - choice and quality excellent.

We have just returned from an excellent holiday, we opted for superior room on an all inclusive basis. The beds were so comfy, food excellent. Staff, including animation team, were so friendly and helpful. Superior rooms are in block 3 which is the quieter block. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
