“Fun all day long!”
Reviewed 27 May 2012

We stayed from the end of April on a 10 day stint,a tad apprehensive, as you always are, but we had no qualms whatsoever. The rooms and the communal areas were always clean, and there was no litter anywhere.
The first day we stayed around the quiet pool as this was the one closest to our room. (We had requested a quiet room, on ground floor but nearby a pool, with a cot, and all of our requests were adhered to). We soon discovered that if you were on holiday to mix with people, have fun, and get involved in the entertainment, then the central pool was the place to be, with the reps on hand and to entertain you with games, competitions, quizzes, bingo etc, from around 10am, breaking for lunch, and then continuing until late afternoon. Then after dinnertime the entertainment began again with local parrot shows, reptile shoes, followed by kids disco, quizzes, bingo, then some form of cabaret performed by the reps.
We actually found that it was a chore to go in and get changed for dinner as we felt as if we were missing out on something! The kids had a whale of a time, either by playing in the kids pool with their new found friends, playing in the softplay area or playground or by spending time with the reps or the kidsworld group.
We felt like we did not need to leave the hotel at all, but on the odd day we took advantage of our rental car and visited the beaches, toured the island and went to the zoo. (Don't tackle if you've got more than one buggy with you, its hard going at times!).
The food was absolutely fine and this is the first all inclusive hotel I have been too whereby I haven't got sick of the food by the 5th day!
There wasn't a great deal to do outside of the complex as the resort is still pretty small, but there are trampolines for the kids, souvenir shops, a wide array of bars and restaurants, a lovely play area by the shops and on the beach, and the famous chipmunks to go and find.
Also, the proximity of the airport was great, literally a 10 min journey, and you honestly don't mind or notice the planes when you are in your hotel.
All in all, a fantastic holiday, we've met loads of lovely people, and the reps: Kim, Emily, Stevie-Jo and Ben really go all out to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Don't take any notice of the people who complain about this hotel; this is a FAMILY resort, and you WILL get kids making a noise while they are enjoying themselves, but I didn't see any little miserable faces anywhere so somebodies doing something right!

Room Tip: We had room 166 which was quiet but also easily accessible to the pools.

Just returned from two weeks self catering at the Broncemar Beach, and had a fantastic time. The hotel is in a great location in the resort, very quiet, but only a 2 minute walk to the main commercial centre and 5 mins to the beach.
The hotel rooms are large, and our room towards the back of the complex had a small balony from the bedroom and a huge balcony from the living room which must have been about 3m x 4m so a lot of private outdoor space. A few of the apartments in the centre and on ground floor have terrace/balcony on a central walkway so much less private, so would recommend emailing the hotel beforehand to request a room on the 1st floor with private balcony.
The rooms themselves are large, more than big enough for two and wouldnt have felt cramped with 2 adults and 2 children.
The self catering facilities are somewhat basic, and i think you would stuggle to cook 3 meals a day there, but didnt bother us as we always eat out.
Only a couple of complaints/comments - no AC in rooms, the temperature reached 42 degrees celsius while we where there, and was almost unbareable for a couple of nights even with the windows flung open. The hotel does rent out fans for an extortionate fee, but was worth while to get a good nights sleep. The other minor complaint was that the daily cleaning was not great. The room was sparkling when we arrived, but during the stay the cleaners came in 5 days out of 7 and always got clean towels and beds made etc, but thats about it - the floors were not swept in 2 weeks but this aside at least it was clean when we arrived!
We used the hotel restaurant for breakfast a few times and found this to be quite good, the food is edible and only 7 Euros per person for the buffet. Also ate dinner in the hotel once, and wouldnt recommend, you can get good meal locally for the same price, but im sure would have been OK on AI.
All in all, i would definately recommend this hotel, and im sure will return.

Room Tip: email the hotel in advance to ask for a room with private balcony

Booked 9th - 16th May. Only 10 mins away from airport (10 euros for taxi ) Reception was good, clean and helpful.
Got to our room, little difficult to start with - it was dark and my sense of direction isn't great...
Accomodation was very good, spacious, clean and better than I expected.
They don't supply soap, shampoo or shower gel.
Food was very good overall, lunch time better than evening meal, in my oppinion but something for everyone.
It was close to the shops, not far from the beach and a 15-20 min walk to the market on Saturday.
( don't bother with the little train on market day - it's packed )

The animation team were fantastic, with everyone not just the children, they worked very hard !

I rang down to reception for extra pillows ....they were in the room when we got back from dinner.
Had a problem with the lock on our bedroom window.. it was repaired the same day.

Two /possibly 3 down sides, no air-con it was fine in May, not sure about later in the year ? as others have commentated VERY slippy around the pool. The third possible one, I know you don't go on holiday to watch TV but I like to see the news and weather and you have to pay, not much but if you want to stay in or have small children and want to watch a film....just another expense to be aware of.
Good value for money, clean, helpful and friendly staff. Everything you need for a holiday in the sun.

Room Tip: For people with small children, prams or wheelchairs any downstairs rooms. For a bit of privacy, up...

My self and 5 friends have just spent 7 days in this lovley apart/hotel. We were all dubious because of the negative reviews we had read but thankfully we were all really pleased
This is a family orientated hotel with lots of entertainment for the children and adults. The Thompson Reps do a fantastic job throughout the day and in the evening.
There is also a bar with a great guy fronting the kareoke. The Barman 'Manny' is a real gem. All staff in general be that waiting staff cleaners and reception staff are all extremly helpful and polite.
The hotel is clean and the rooms are serviced regularly, the food is really very good too. If you go all inclusive you will not be disappointed. The pools are fabulous too by the way!!
This hotel is great value for money it has everything you need. The local shops are a few minuets away and about a ten min walk to the beach .
You might also like to know that it is a 10 min drive by taxi to the hotel and only costs abouts' 13 euro's so don't pay for transfer fees !!!!!

We booked as a couple for a week in March and found the apartment nice, clean and good value. We went s/c so cannot comment on the food.
The apartments are a good size, as per previous reviews here we email beforehand and requested an upper room away from the pool areas, just what we got which was quiet, private and got the sun all day. There was no view other than other apartments but it was fine.
We did ask at reception if they could charge our phone using our USB cable but refused to help. That was the only negative we felt as had requested extra blankets and they arrived straight away.
The towels were changed frequently, cleaning staff were pleasant and room well equipped.
Yes the place is under the flight path but not a problem.
The pools are very cold.
We went for a week and found that was long enough, as there wasn't enough to keep us occupied. Unless you want to lie in the sun there's very little else to do in the resort, and it is a man made resort.
Walk along to the shopping centre to the Spar where items are generally much cheaper than the store across in the smaller shoping centre.
We hired bikes - very reasonable for 3 days hire.
However, we had a great time, nice break at that time of year. The weather was fantastic and there was no wind, apart from on the last day when we were going home so it didn't matter.
Get a bus from the airport, much cheaper than transfers or a taxi.

Room Tip: email ahead and request an upper room away from the pool if you want it quiet

We are just back from a week at the Broncemar. Myself, hubby, our 4 yr old son and my mam and dad. We had a lovely time. The childrens entertainers made the holiday for our son!! They were fab! Disco's and games and he even won himself a certificate, which defo made his holiday!! The apartments are nice, spacious and clean - although a little bit shabby (ripped curtains and dirty black out blinds, but all in all, it was clean and nice.
We were not all inclusive, i think we were possibly the only ones, we paid 420 each for a week (incl. flights), but most of the English people we talked to got an all inclusive price way cheaper!
Cons of the Broncemar: no air con (although we did rent 2 fans, but still very hot, even in May) and the tiles around the pool were so slippy.
Pros - entertainment, ideal location to get to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars.
We had a lovely time and I think we would go back again, although it would defo be out of season as no air con is a turn off for me!

Room Tip: we were room 286, its far enough from the pool/ bar, so no noise if you want to get your little ones...

Just returned from a week here AI. Have spent many an hour reviewing the reviews and the latter are pretty accurate to be honest. We booked through TravelRepublic and other than the initial Thomas Cook welcome meeting, received all the same benefits as TC guests for a fraction of their prices.
The entertainment team by far are what made this holiday for us. Stevie, Kim, Ben and Emily are great, they never failed to deliver! In addition, there are also the Kids World reps, (all English). We put our 4 yr old into 2 sessions, a morning of Chocolate mess and fun costing 15euros from 10:15 until 13:15 and a general play session from 9:00 until 13:00 costing 5euros, an absolute bargin. The environment is onsite, fully shaded offering plenty of activity.
The food was ok and we could generally find something to eat, although it was a bit samey at times, espcially at breakfast, although a choice of hot, fruit, cereals (maybe I'm just fussy?). Evenings there was generally a 'special' dish that would be cooked fresh for you, so one night I had fresh fish, the next I had roast pork and another roast beef, plenty of pasta and sauses, salads and usually fish fingers or chicken nuggets for the kids.
We had a 2 bed appartment, just set back from the poolside, which was spacious and well maintained, although upon entering the apartment, we immediately noticed that there wasn't any air con and it was stifling! We later learned that we could have upgraded to an air con'd room but weren't advised of this, so hired 2 fans costing 15euros each plus 20euro returnable deposit for the week. The safe was 20euro for the week to hire. Apartment was cleaned regularly with a change of towels, identifiable by a change of coulour, which was nice.
The pools, were cold but with 40degrees plus at times, very refreshing, however as most people have pointed out, the area around the pools are stupidly slippery, within 5 minutes of being there my husband slipped over and I saw many others do it to, so my advice for those travelling with kids, buy them the rubbery shoes, I bought ours for £4 from a sports shop, well worth the money! The wooden area that surrounds the kids pool mainly and the main walk ways, there are many planks that are loose and lift, so caution is required.
It was a lovely relaxing holiday enjoyed by all. For sheer kids and family entertainment, I'd reccomend again but probably wouldn't go back to the same hotel just because I like to try new places.
