Stayed at this place from 28th of dec to jan 4th with wife and 1 year old, after reading a few reveiws i started to worry as we had convinced our friends and two kids to come with us and the reveiws were not that great, but all i can say is we found it brilliant and loved every minute of our stay.

The hotel was being painted when we were there but did not spoil our holiday, the rooms were large and were idea for family's,the shops are a two minute walk and the beach 5 mins or if you want a even nicer beach you can walk an extra 10 mins but is well worth it.

Not one cockroach to be seen but thats not to say they are not there but its expected in a hot country and the hotel can not to be blamed for this.I would not recommend this resort for young couples or groups looking for a lively holiday but would recommend it to families and hope to visit it again same time next year.

Stayed here from 21-28 Dec and although we had a great time, we got what we paid for. €250 each. The girlfriend surprised me a week away for my birthday and was given a choice of either here or Corralejo. Must tell you, Caleta is much quieter! Didn't mind that at all. So, as always, logged on to trip advisor for the reviews and was a bit put off by reading the reviews about the cockroach situation and the girlfriend wasn't too happy either. She was having seizures just reading about them! So I just said its probably just a few pee'd off travel makers, looking for something to complain about or really nitpicking, considering its number 3 rating in places to stay in Caleta. Anyway, we got there, checked in, got our room ,121,which couldn't have been any further away from the reception and was given a map to get there! The grounds are gorgeous; the place is spotless, and surprisingly quiet, despite being next to the main town centre, which we were very surprised with. Loads of cats too! Our apartment was right next to a CAT CAFE!
The Broncemar has its own Supermarket, café, souvenir shops, games for kids, restaurants, Bars, and daily entertainment running throughout the day and night! A little bit pricey to shop there however, but in a rush for some milk, tea etc…it’s ideal.
Our room smelled a bit, we put it down to the drainage but again, it wasn’t so bad to complain about. A flush of the toilet seemed to have been the solution! NO cockroaches though, delighted! Room was spotless, towels a bit worn out (Boncemar should change)
One major problem we had was that our frying pan, and toaster were absolutely filthy. We like to do a bit of cooking so were disappointed about that. Was it a problem? NO. I brought them to reception, and within 10mins, the maid had come back with a new toaster and a newish frying pan! Sorted. Third day of holiday when we came back from beach, we noticed the maid had been, again room was nice and fresh, with new fresh (although worn out) towels and a nice little surprise … 3 cockroaches, on their back! So it was a little easier to kill them! The girlfriend was a little exited about this!
Went to reception the following day, and when I mentioned it to the receptionist, she was surprised as it was December! IF it was summer she would not be surprised with complaints…!! How about that? So, we just passed it off, went off and had no more issues with the cockroaches until 2 days later. When I had a shower, when I moved the towel, a little fella scurried across the floor..not fast enough for my shoe though!!
I make out they came with the maid – she was twice in apartment, and when we got back we had the roaches. Maybe they came in her cart, I dunno. Seems too much of a coincidence. Also, a small bit of maintenance needs to be done, a lot of wear and tear in the apartments, it would be a shame to seem them go downhill here.
Despite all that excitement, I would stay here again. Pity about the TV also, it’s a euro an hour and there is only 2-3 English speaking channels, and no wireless internet in the rooms. I’m really asking for a lot aren’t I? Finally, if you get the chance, check out Flag Beach near Corralejo - majestic!

I stayed a week here and got back today 24/12 this resort is lovely for family with little kids or older people but if you are young or are looking for a cheap drink and a all night party dont go!but for a family great beachs and friendly bars with kids magic shows etc on.There is only one bar in this resort that puts shows on at night its called piero's music bars and here we watched some great and funny acts over the past week.but this bar and every bar you go in the drinks are not cheap.eg coke £2 beer start at £3 water £1.75 etc.DONT try a curry over here as there are not like home!found a good place tony romas ribs bar yum yum nice but very pricey e.g ribs and chips £15.aprt from that resort lovely to walk round at night and day shops and market on a tuesday morning only.zoo trip is a very good day out but you end up waiting around a hour for the bus to pick you up but for £18.50 and £9.00 for kids its a good day out.or went spa that is on the beach front £24 for the day adults only was very nice well worth a visit !!!apart from the resort being lovely the apartments and Dirty and we made friends with other familys and they all said the same that windows was dirty mirrors and tv table had never been dusted i dont think..one lady went the supermarket and brought cleaning bits and bobs to clean her apartment her self.it said maid would come 3 times in our week there she never she come once and was in and out after 5 mins.we had to keep ringing up for new towels.when she did chance the towels they had a rip in them.very lazy woman!!i think maybe this hotel was nice when it opened but in need off a new cleaner and paint work and tidy up more of a 2 star now.but i payed £200 for the week so in this world you get wot you pay for .you also have to pay 1 euro for then tv to work for 60 minds it soon eats your money only few english channels tho.happy holidays anyway and enjoy yourself any questions feel free cleanrus1@hotmail.co.uk

Stayed at this hotel, week commencing 3rd December
Must admit after reading the tales of cockroaches I wasnt really looking forward to staying at this hotel, but I can honestly say I never saw one during the whole week of our stay.
The rooms were ok, quite large and equiped for anyone staying self catering. They were cleaned five days of our stay. THe bathroom was a little tired but clean.. The towels had seen better days, certainly wouldnt consider them bath size, and they were threadbare, and had holes i n them. The towels were changed three times a week.
I would recommend anyone going to this hotel to take plenty of coat hangers as there were only two in our wardrobe.
The reception staff were ok, helpful. We had problems with our safe when we arrived but the maintenance man arrived within 15minutes and sorted out our problem (unfortunately it was of our own making(
We were in room 221 which was above where the entertainment was on an evening, so our room was incredibly noisy. The balconys were one long continuation, so there was no privacy between them. We overlooked the pool but it was so noisy that you wouldnt want to sit on them anyway. Why do the reps not let people relax without expecting everyone to join in their games. I for one want a relaxing holiday. The music also was played at full volume every day.
It seems the reps have to shout all the time down the microphones even at night time.
The Food, absolutely awful. The breakfasts ok, but the food at evening time wasnt brilliant. I like to know what I,m eating, some nights it wasnt marked so you dont know what it is.
All in all, we didnt pay a fortune for this holiday, so I cant really complain, I suppose.
And this is the first holiday I've been on where you have to pay to watch the television.
The Disco Pub Piero's is worth a visit, if you like good live entertainment, especially Brian Ransom who I consider excellent.

I stayed at thsi hotel in october last year with my boyfriend. When we got to the room our front door wouldnt lock, and we had no toilet roll, they sent someone out almost immediatly to fix this problem, however they should have checked before we arrived.
The room was basic with 2 twin beds that wouldnt stay pushed together. The kitchen/living room area was large and spacious. we were on the upper floor of the two storey block, so we had a nice balcony so sunbathe on and sit on in the evenings. I would recommend staying on the upper floor rather than the lower floor as you will have people walking past your room and you cant leave out your towels and swim wear.
There are two pools one is used for activites and the other is used for whatever. There is good pool activites for the children during the day.
The hotel is in a really good area with a less than 5 minute walk to the shops bars and resturants. We ended up eating in the same resturant most nights as we got on well with the bar man. and he did nice cocktails. There ate lots of jewllery shops. bars, sports bars and resturants to choose from.
The beach isnt that great its shingerly, didnt really go on there much. it is a bout a 10min walk from the hotel. the local supermarket is a 5min walk away it sells evrything.
There are lots of excursions to go on, we did the Zoo. Had a great day out.
Overall its a good hotel and area to stay in.

My Girlfriend (19) and I (21) went to the Broncemar In the middle of November, expecting the weather to be average, but it was perfect. around 26/27', with a light breeze, it was perfect.

Hotel is wonderful from all angles, the pools are great, big, 'fresh', and fun.

Rooms were big enough, kitchen well furnished, couldn't find anything wrong with the appartment. We had a balcony which was sort of shared, but it was big enough ,and nice.

Entertainment spot on, food spot on, beer was a bit steep in the hotel, but buying it from the shop is fine.

Local to the beach.

Only downside I could find is that the sunbeds wouldn't always work (the backs)

Will be back there shortly.

:)

We arrived at Broncemar Beach at about 11pm and were allocated room 280 (i think). We wer over looking the kids pool. We were shatered from travelling all day and just wanted to sleep but the entertainment was very loud. Luckily we had bought earplags with us, which are a definate must for this hotel, and i cannot stess this enough for all you who love your siestas in the middle of the day as the entertainment crew get on the mic for water polo. We didn't really get involed with any of the entertainment (except the reptile show which i loved!) and every night they would play "cartoon heros" which got on my nerves!!!!!!

Now dont get me wrong, there were lots of great things about this place - It was extreemly clean, i was so shocked at how nice they kept the appartments. i didn't see 1 cockroach the entire holiday of 10 days! Our door handle broke on like the 5th day and after phoning reception, a handyman (who couldn't speak a word of English - but that didn't matter) came and fixed it within 10 minutes. I just wish they had been as dilligent with the poolside. every day there were repairs being made to the tiles around the pool, sometimes at 7.30 in the morning. now i can understand this is the coolest part of the day to work but, we came on holiday to relax and not have to wake up before 10. The jaquzzis did not work, which my partner and i were very dissapointed about as we had one directly beneath us. it was always full of kids splashing about - this was very annoying.

I think the best thing about the holiday was the glass bottom boat trip to lanzarotte. It was a glorious day, the maket was lovely, the food on the boat suited all tastes, even my partner, who is a fussy eater, loved it! drinks were available throughout the day free of charge so we drank our weight in sangria! the games and bannana boat looked fun and we even saw some flying fish!

the oasis park was also fun, the food was amazing and the camel rides was defo an experience.

The nearest beach is not very nice, really hard and gritty sand and the sea looked really mucky. If you can, go to the atlantico centre, 20 mins walk away (3euros in a taxi) and there is a beautiful beach outside. My partner and i went there rather than sit by the pool as it was quieter and the sea and sand was clean. the sea was so clean that if you went up to your knees in water, fish would swim around your ankles.
if you go to this Beach you must try the food at "the island" restaurant which is practically in the middle of the sea! the food was ok but very over priced!

the restaurants near by are very "english" and to be honest i just wanted a really authentic tapas bar, which i could't find anywhere! The blues bar was the best bar we went too as the staff are very friendly and the cocktails are more alcohol than ice, so you always get your moneys worth.

Over all it was a nice holiday and the weather was great, however i don't think i will be going back. If you have booked this hotel or are thinking about it TAKE EARPLUGS!!!!
