“4 star was more like 2”
Reviewed 21 January 2014 via mobile

My wife booked what was supposed to be a four star all inclusive short stay but would put the resort at two star and that is only because of the staff who were friendly and helpful. Our room was dated with some of the electrical points loosely fixed to the wall. The tv had one English channel that went off after one day and then we lost all electric on the first night. The food was very basic with limited options and was mostly repeated each lunch and dinner. There were street lights out and after being followed from the town by someone, made my wife very uncomfortable about walking around in the dark.

just returned last saturday we were happy with the bungalow we had near one of the small pools so it was relaxing, although they do not provide kettles you can hire them, the whole area was spotless. the food was fine we had no problem finding plenty to eat,bit of a hill walking back from the beach which is lovely.Plenty of bars outside the complex which are nice especially peiros which does great shows so all in all we had a good holiday. It wasnt expensive so dont expect 5star, plenty of hot water and our tv had loads of free channels, corrie, emerdale, eastenders, etc (only watched while getting ready to go out)

Room Tip: we were in block A not far to walk to restaurant

This is about our 6th time going to this complex and yet again it did not disappoint. We went December/January period and had a very relaxing time. Everyone of the members of staff are fantastic from Roberto (the manager) to the reception staff (Victor @ Sandra) to the restaurant staff (Linda/ Sandy and others to last but not least (Habibi and Omar) at the pool bar, each and everyone of them deserves praise as they could not do enough to make your stay really wonderful and I thank all of them. If anything had a wee downside, it was the entertainment. While Jose and Ashley did their best to please, I feel that their hands have been tied as the evening entertainment is at the very least repetitive.
While a great job is done to keep the children more than happy i.e. Daytime games and mini disco till 9.00 in the evening. Too much time is devoted to this cause and therefore this means that the children are even taking part in the late evenings (9.00 -12.00 midnight) karaoke etc. And the adults are definitely not catered for properly. There should be a cutoff time for the children taking part in various events thus allowing the adults some quality time. That is the only complaint against this quality family complex.
Finally, I would advise any "all inclusive" guests not to attempt to get drinks for guests who are not entitled to them. Trust me the members of staff are nobody's fools as they'll be onto you in a flash and it could result in you losing your "all inclusive" privileges. The members of staff are Very Nice, but "Not Stupid". Wee Haggis will be back. Cheers and again, "THANK YOU ALL.

Room Tip: Pay that little bit extra for the sea view, it is well worth it.

Myself, my 4 year old son and partner stayed here for one week mid August 2013.
Upon arriving at reception, we were met with a 'tired' receptionist who gave me a key and a map. After that it was like a treasure hunt for our bungalow.
There were two single beds in one room and a pull out chair bed. The bed mattresses were uncomfortably thin, i pulled them together to create a double bed for myself and my son and my partner slept on the chair all week.
The pool was very deep in our block. There was a kiddies pool but it was extremely shallow. The towels were changed after 4 days the first time and 2 the next. The ants were a problem if there was ever a window or door left open sure enough they were in. They were all over the bedside lockers and even some on the bed. The only way to tackle this is to insecticide the bungalow every time your leaving the day.

Caleta de Fuiste itself is beautiful but the beach is very rocky. There are water activities at the end of the bay, jet ski, whale watching, scuba diving, feeding fish, a submarine ride, swimming with sea lions. These activities are expensive. We attempted the submarine, which was boring, we seen nothing, it literally went out a few metres and came back in, short lived and unimpressive. We booked whale watching for our last day which we were excited about but when we were about to board they told us the sea was too choppy and we could either swim with sea lions or get a refund. So obviously we got a refund.
In the evenings we would go out for dinner, look around the same few shops then my son would go to the go-carts and trampolines...EVERY NIGHT. Literally because there was nothing else to do. Before midnight every night, peak season in august, everything would shut down.
There was also no air con...anywhere. In 40 degree heat every restaurant we went to i asked if there was air con and no. Apparently fuerteventura is 'the windy island' this was not so during our week.
We were that bored of the area we rented satellite tv for the bungalow. There was also a waiting list to rent a fan for the room which was made available to us on our third day, at a price obviously!

Overall, the resort was old and shabby, too far away from any kind of an atmosphere.
Caleta de Fuiste was extremely quiet and boring, although we travelled to all the other towns we felt they all lacked excitement and atmosphere.
If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday this is for you.
If you are looking for any type of excitement on this island, get the ferry to Lanzarote and dont look back!!
The best day we had, apart from the day our flight was leaving, was in the water park and even that was average and expensive.

I stayed at this hotel from Saturday 11th jan - 15th jan 2014' I was supposed to stay until 18th jan, but the hotel is dreadful, from the acoomadationn, no kettle, no tv you have to pay not what Thomas cooks website says, and as for the wifi totally dreadful just doesn't work and it's £25 for a week.
The drinks are supposed to be premium brands oh no spanishcheap rubbishis what you get, and very watered down even the larger is.
The food I went all-inclusive could not eat anything the food looked like it have been left out for days, with thick skins formed on the sauces yuk!
Everything disgusting, I didn't eat a thing!
Live on food from the supermarket that didn't need to be cooked , as the facilities in the accommodation extremely basic.
Beds ah so uncomftable, I slept on the sofa bed as this was a little more bearable.
The place is dirty everywhere, didn't use the pools as they looked like you might catch something from them.
I travel all over the world, especially in Europe, and have come arcross some interesting hotels, with bad standards, but I have never come across one so bad, after the first day I was begging to come home, I left 4 days early and told the manager this, who basically didn't give a monkeys and said he had 500 holiday makers who were happy.
If you have any sence do not go to this hotel, go somewhere else the Barcelo hotels look lovely
In caleta.

Room Tip: Don't go

Just back from a week in the hotel, self catering. Long wait to check in.Room was basic but had everything we needed from microwave to towels. Maids came every other day in the afternoon was good didn't not invade you first thing. Entertainment very very poor activities on board didn't always take place, and no animation to be seen! Never seen such a bad mini disco where did that girl learn the chocolate song?! You tube it love it's not that hard!! All in all hotel not bad. Make the most of the near by shops bars and restaurants. Lins restaurant good for a 3Euro breakfast! But stay clear of Aberdeen restaurant yes only 9euros for 3 courses but found a hair in by food and they rip you off by offering 1euro a pint before 6pm but if you are paying after this time they will charge you 4euros! Lastly a big thanks to Scully at the "slap n tickle" bar great entertainment all week!
