My family spent two weeks here during the Easter Break and left extremely disappointed to say the least. We opted for the all Inclusive package which was our first time opting for such a package on holidays and wanted to experience it. I had to leave a review because I didn't want other families to experience what we had to and perhaps it may make management wake up and take notice...but I doubt it.

Negatives.

Food is of very poor quality, often found that basic condiments has run out and took days to restock. We got extremely tired of the same poor quality food everyday and ended up eating out to avoid the mundane trip to the buffet. Noticed other restaurants offering different cuisines on the site but all were closed.

Had to move bungalows during our stay after a couple of sleepless nights due to MICE inside the decorative coving in the bathroom, they actually began burying through the polystyrene and the holes were growing in size , only a matter of time before they got in. Had to cause a several scenes in reception for notice and to be moved (not what you need when on holidays.) My wife and two young daughters were left traumatized and management weren't in the least apologetic. After being moved to another bungalow almost identical to the previous realized the noise from the entertainment at the pool bar didn't end until midnight (not helpful with two young girls)

Some staff were nice and friendly but the male staff at the main pool bar were extremely ignorant and found myself biting my tongue on numerous occasions so not to add any more drama to the holiday. To give you an idea of the ignorance I'm taking about, one evening while attending the pool bar I thanked the bar man after being served in Spanish, as I make an effort when a visitor in any foreign country and try and embrace the culture while there. The bar man responded with 'Spanish ??? You Wish' - disgraceful in an island who's economy is primarily based on tourism.

The beds are the most uncomfortable I've ever came across, no excuse for this when mattress toppers are extremely affordable especially when bought in bulk !!

Have to pay for TV channels which aren't worth it at all !!!

Have to pay for WIFI which is extremely poor and very frustrating !!!

Noise is very loud the nearer you get to the pool bar at night , worth bearing in mind if you have youngsters or are looking for a quiet holiday !!

As an Irish family we felt isolated among the majority English population both in the resort as well as outside !!!

Positives.

Weather was fantastic.

Some great restaurants outside resort - Prickly Palm & Restaurant 15 to mention but two.....

Santa & Ash - two fantastic young women who really look after the kids in the resort. Our two girls really liked them.

Cleaning staff kept the place clean considering the amount of litter that resort guests were creating.

Great Location, good views of the sea and the bay. Only 10 min walk to town center.

Evening Entertainment at the resort was good considering but more variation needs to be added, the line up for second week was almost identical to first week.

Oasis Park , great day out especially the seal lion show.

Room Tip: Depends on what type of holiday you want , loud nearer the main pool bar until midnight !!!!

Based on reviews we read of this hotel, we were not holding our hopes for our all inclusive holiday here. However, we are currently day two of a fanulous family holiday here at dorada and so far so good. Hard working staff, on site management, value for money and communal areas spotless. Go on, book it. Incredible prices, incredible value . Looking forward to the rest of the week and rebooking with extended family. You couldn't beat it with a stick :)

Yes its certainly not the best place you will ever stay but yes its a cheap getaway in the sun so just make the most of your stay here. the whole complex is in need of a complete makeover as everything is tired, bars and restaurants on site stay closed and unused and the poor staff are constantly rushed off their feet. the rooms [I saw four] are very basic and you have to pay extras for everything [tv channels, wifi etc] we stayed for all inclusive for the first week then as you just get bored with the same drinks/food we changed to self catering for the second week, must say we had a lot better time in the second week and ate at some great places, the entertainment on an evening is boring, repetitive and obviously ran on a low budget so we ventured out on an evening to both the barcelo's and the Sheraton hotels where we had to pay for drinks but it was a much better evening of enjoyment. i saw the hotel reps one day had a competition along side the pool for the kids which was who could spit an ice cube the furthest. [they need to put imagination in] best tips I can give are use the wifi from the local pubs, just buy a drink get their password and your sorted for the rest of your stay, don't pay the excessive 7euros per day at hotel. when eating in the restaurant get their early as food is warmer, things run out and tables have to be waited for. if your an early riser use the tea/coffee machines at the bar/pool area for free even if not all inc, if you have young children its much safer to bath them as the shower water goes cold then extremely hot which is a very serious matter that should be addressed by the hotel. don't leave any food/scraps laying around near room as you may be invaded by local ants and stray cats. we made the best of our stay but would never consider returning to this hotel.

18 of us arrived for our holiday at Caleta Dorada, Despite a shortage of the required accommodation, the manager did his best to make alternative arrangements and we were more than happy with what he'd sorted. The food and drinks were plentiful with loads of choice and everyone in our party found something they liked. The pancakes went down a treat with our grandchildren and the omelette bar was fantastic! Apartments were cleaned regularly and the general facilities were of a good standard. All in all, a great choice for a all inclusive break and we'd go back any time.

We paid for a One bedroom kitchenette bungalow with pool view at A no: 44. Bungalow clean however the size of it was not accomodating for a our family of four. Best suited for a couple with young infants. Rooms was cleaned every 2 days, fresh linen and towels. Anyway we was on all inclusive, you get a wristband must be on show all times. It was okay. Some occasions the food in restaurant got a bit repetitive but there would always be something you could eat. Breakfast was good. Try the omelettes and sausages! The blonde waitress with curly hair is friendly. The downside of this hotel was if you are all inclusive or of some board you would have to go to the restaurant or main pool for food. Pool served cold sandwiches, icecreams and hotdogs no chips or burgers! There was a bar in our complex but it was never open...a pain if you want a drink you would have to walk back and forth. The hotel needs to be signposted more as to get to main pool/bar not clear on arrival. The football area for kids was always locked so you would see them climbing in...not good for safety reasons...The main pool was good. Theres a little waterpark and slides to keep the kids entertained. The entertainement for kids is good and theres a minnie kids clubs but you have to book. The supermarket is not far and its not expensive. There are a few bars but we ventured into the main town which is 15min walk. Plenty of bars, restaurants to choose from. The beach at Caleta is manmade but its good. The waters are shallow and crystal clear. Worth spending a day or two there. There us a camel ride at the beach if you want and hire of sun loungers. You can also hire paddle boats, speed boat or jet skis or if you are brave go scuba diving..The hotel offers excursions but these must be booked at certain times of days when a rep is available, ask at the hotel.
There is plenty to do in this resort and I and the family would return just not at this hotel. We just did not find it accomodating for ourselves and two boys.
