Our apartment had everything we needed and was thoroughly cleaned every other day. The small courtyard has an amazingly good sized pool, also very clean. Supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, including wonderful Fado Rock within short walking distance, on good, flat pavements. The street itself is quiet. Only criticism is that the security guard needs to work with a partner to deal with occasional rowdies getting out of hand, especially as guests on upper floors like to sleep with verandah doors open to let in night breeze. Shocked by amount of litter dropped by guests lounging on poolside, but cleaners do a great job of picking it all up and washing the area with a hose. Would give this place an Excellent if they recycled waste and improved the food. Hope to return.

Room Tip: Poolside ground floor if you don't mind risking people seeing you eating on your verandah!

Just arrived home from this hotel. Well the rooms we clean and basic what we expected. We arrived at 9.15 pm at night to be told to go to the burger bar for our evening meal as the restaurant was closed.
Well the food was poor ever over cooked or under cooked, flies every where. The same food everyday what was left from one meal ,was made into other.
Had to get a sun bed early if you didn't you would not get one, not enough umbrellas they was only 2 for the whole complex. The bar area was ok but the cushions we dirty. We asked for chips as a snack and were told they would cost us 2Euros as not included in the all inclusive.
On the day of departure we asked for bread rolls and tin foil we told no.
The entertainment is aimed for children only. People complained about this and was told to shut up by staff.

Room Tip: don't have a room above the bar.

Cheap hotel in great location. Few yards from beach and local shops, bars and restaurants. Did not try swimming pool as it was always busy and full of loud , drunk people. Food was ok , nothing special but what you expect from the price.

This wasn't our choice of hotel as the one we had paid to stay in La Tahona Garden was overbooked & on arrival (from previous comments this seems it looks like this happens frequently).First impressions on arriving at Caleta Garden was ok the reception was clean & air conditioned. Our room wasn't ready & the all inclusive didn't start until 1pm on arrival day which given the fact that through no fault of our own we were at this hotel a welcome cold drink would of been given free while we waited. Our room,301, was on the 2nd floor overlooking the street opposite a lounge bar where music was played(loudly)till 5am a reason why I'd never choose to book a hotel on a street. The room itself was generally clean though in need of some general repairs. It had self catering facilities but if you wanted a kettle or toaster these could be hired for €8
each with a deposit of €10 for the week.No air conditioning (reception only) but you could hire a fan for €15 all subject to availability. The room was cleaned 3 times during our week stay with towels being changed but not sheets. The shower was a good pressure & temperature but a couple of times it was shared with a cockroach. The pool area isn't big enough for the hotel & sunbeds were all reserved with towels by 8am even though the hotel states that this is not allowed. The bar area is a good size with plenty of outside tables & if you get to know the bar staff you can have more than the 2 drinks allowed at once which some people seemed to take advantage of quite often.Wifi has to be paid for & can only be accessed in reception though most local bars & restaurants have it free.Food was repetitive & you could guess what the next meal would consist of by the left overs from the previous one e.g if tuna was had at lunch time it would be a tuna salad at dinner, the breakfast rolls became garlic bread at lunch & there was always chips & ham pizza. No air conditioning & plenty of flies, hygiene seemed very poor if not dangerous. The outside tables would have pigeons eating off unattended plates & the staff would give the tables a quick wipe with the same cloths they carried each meal time, no spray, wiping bird droppings up with them then wiping other tables. There was a hand washing basin behind the hot food counter but it was always covered with a towel.A wheelie bin was kept uncovered behind the counter.Staff just seemed totally oblivious to food hygiene. There are plenty of places that are reasonably priced to eat out nearby but that kind of defeats the object of paying all inclusive. We had a day trip booked & needed to catch a bus at 830 am so went to have a cup of tea at 8 before leaving only to be shouted at to get out of restaurant as it wasn't open.Breakfast times are 8 till 10.I asked at reception if our original hotel was fully booked for the whole week or were we having to stay at the Caleta & was told that we were lucky to be there & we had been given the same rated hotel so there could be no cause for complaint. If you wanted a holiday with the participants of Jeremy Kyle & the cast of Benefits Street then this is the place for you.I wasn't expecting 5* for the price I paid but the 3 * & not the 2* that I was given.

Room Tip: Don't overlook street

When me and my Fiancee first walked in to the hotel and went to the desk the first thing I said to her was "Solana" referring to the hit comedy show Benidorm. I was laughing as I said it but it really was lol,we literally went on to use references and quotes from the show throughout the whole holiday while absolutely roaring with laughter all day every day.

Desk staff were about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike and always looked as though they were serving a jail sentence instead of working lol miserable gits lol.

Bar staff were ok and friendly but sometimes looked like overworked donkeys just looking for a place to lay down and die because they were running the bar as well as the all inclusive "buffet" which actually was more like a military mess hall with one angry old fat fella telling people off saying that they have to hurry up because the hall will be closing in 10 minutes lol.

Most of the guests when we first turned up were families who seemed to be enjoying their rest time which although was quite a boring atmosphere was also nice to to see because it's always nice to see families spending quality time together which is hard to do in England and was overall a good and quiet crowd.

We started our second week when a load of real chav morons turned up constantly giving it the biggen and swearing around kids etc, compliments of essex of course,
essex, where all the girls may as well be named chlamydia lol,

After staying away from the hotel for nearly the whole 2 weeks holiday I said to my Fiancee that we should start getting back to the hotel at night to spend a few hours drinking simply to get our moneys worth and she agreed so we started staying in til the all inclusive bar closed then we'd go out and go for a walk etc.

While in the hotel bar one afternoon a few days before we left we met 2 couples from Rochdale near Manchester who were absolutely lovely people who we always had a really good laugh with due to their typical northern sense of humour and their good, decent personalities which was so refreshing to see and be around as we were borrrrrrred tooooooo deeeeeeeath sitting in the "solana" watching a load of chavs hitting the boxer machine game while thinking that they were rocky lol punchbags don't hit back fellas lol.

The best bars are on the beach front away from the crowds of the English drunks who shame us all at every given opportunity.

There is one nice bar in the town called THE BLUES BAR, who do a lovely English breakfast and the staff there are all nice people and are very helpful with any information that you need to know about the Island, we spent a good few nights there and found it very relaxing and very fairly priced, and seemed to be Owned by Spanish and ran by English people who had adopted the Spanish way so had a more laid back and friendly atmosphere.

The beach is very secluded at night so is perfect for those who want a romantic walk along the lovely moon lit sea front with their partner, and a bit of em "intimacy" with the enemy if you get my drift lol and makes for a very special and liberating session lol.

In short the "solana" I would say is quite a good place if you just want a little get away with the kids if you're not bothered about the quality, but for couples who want a nice all inclusive holiday I wouldn't recommend to go there unless you're looking for a place to crash at night while you travel the whole Island as we did.

We stayed at the "Solana" from 28th June til 12th July and although it was a roach infested dive we did actually have alot of fun joking about it and got to see a good portion of the whole Island so in a round about way we would like to thank the "Solana" and all of it's staff for giving us a good chuckle.

Marcos and the enemy lol

We arrived to be told our hotel was overbooked......not a good start. We we're put in a taxi and shuffled off to Caleta Gardens with no explanation and no knowledge of where we were going!! We arrived at 2* having paid for 3*
We were given basic but clean accommodation, bed like a stale piece of bread and directly above the bar......not my idea of a restful holiday. Into the bargain, the hotel had their maintenance team in banging, painting and making our stay unpleasant and our terrace dirty. The food was barely passable and we dined out mostly, even though we had paid all inclusive. Would I go there again.....place maybe, but that hotel, definitely not!!

our original hotel was La Tahona gardens 3* which is a sister hotel to this 2* hotel. by the time we got here we had missed the evening meal which we could have had at the original hotel. We was given the key for the safe deposit box as the receptionist was busy talking on the phone when she gave us the key. When we complained that the key did not fit we had to wait for the maintenance man to fix it only to find out we had been given the wrong key, we had to carry all our valuables round for the day, the rooms were clean. no chance of sun beds as they were reserved at 9 o clock and left empty for most of the day, it was forbidden to reserve sun beds but that meant nothing to the hotel or guests. the rooftop Jacuzzi area was adult only but there was children up there. the food was basic and bland, the salad bar had flies crawling over it. Wifi was expensive 3 euros for a hour (free at the original hotel) and could only be accessed from the reception area. best thing to do is go to a local bar that as free wifi and spend the 3 euros on beers. the entertainment was bad the sound system was a joke, there was an artist on one night singing to sunfly karaoke discs and playing the same backing track on a guitar I can do better on the Wii guitar hero. There was a room to leave your luggage when you was leaving but when we went to get our cases the was a woman already in the locked room and we had the key what she was doing God only knows but it was very shifty. Don't book for the La Tahona gardens as you will end up here and don't book for the caleta gardens.
