This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in; We were there on HB basis in Feb 2013 with friends and I have to say the breakfast & Dinner were awesome. The dinner was not spicy at all....(which I didn’t like...a bit more chilly would have given it a bit more flavour). We loved this hotel and was about 20 mins from the airport which was Excellent. We were able to rent bikes for one day and cycled around. Reception staff were awesome !!!! Amazing Desserts!!! Excellent Stay!

I visited this hotel in Early November with my wife and 1 year old son. The Hotel was nice but not amazing, however we did have a great time. The location is right next to the sea and there is a shopping center not far away so no need to travel far. There is also a pier if you walk slightly further in to the town. The staff are super friendly and attentive. We met a really nice entertainment worker named Frank who was always around to help and make us smile. the weather was very nice for November, reaching a high of 25c. The food at the hotel was amazing, everyday there was a large selection of meats, fish and side dishes. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place to chill out, it was very relaxed while we were there but I'm not sure if it would be the same in the summer when holiday season is at its peak.

Room Tip: Request a room high up so you are not blocked out by palm trees

Just returned from a week at the Elba Sara; it was brilliant , the facilities are very good but what makes this a stand out holiday are the staff. Helpful, smiling, courteous so where do you start?
We booked an all inclusive package, the reception staff especially the smiling man, the room was lovely, bright and we had a nice view even on the third floor. The food was fine, freshly prepared especially the breakfast smoothies, the steaks, fish, speciality foods most nights... Ask for a red wine and a nice Spanish bottle of the stuff appears...what more could you ask for?
Now the real gems; the entertainment team comprising of Frank, Guille, Carmela...they were brilliant, involved and intent on making your stay one to remember...I suggested to them that some of their stuff would do credit to a BBC comedy sketch it was that funny but always involved material that even the youngest child could find amusing... even the weird toymonster 'Pepe'...
Poolside we got the same team doing their stuff all over again but this time getting all those who would care to move around to the pulsating beats doing so...if you preferred to relax and drink wine and beer in the shade so be it.... you could even have your photo taken by the on site cool dude professional photographer Lorand...great pics but no pressure to purchase...
Move upstairs and be entertained by 'Moncho' barman extraordinaire ...it is worth 15 mins of anybody's time just watching that man flying around bottles, glasses, drinks seemingly defying the usual laws of gravity, but always with an amusing quip to add to the mixture...
Overall a wonderful 7 days in Fuerteventura; we will be back!

We stayed here for the first time last November and enjoyed it so much we re-booked and stayed again last week. We made our booking directly through the hotel's website and this was so easy and painless - and your card doesn't get charged until you arrive too, unlike with travel agents.

Check in was superb and we were delighted to be given the same room again - which we had requested via email. This was the biggest bonus of all, as with me having limited mobility I wanted to spend a fair bit of time sitting out on the balcony enjoying the view.

There are, as with every hotel, positives and negatives - with this one the positives far outweigh any negatives, which are actually only minor niggles. The only negative points I could say are mostly with a view to my limited mobility and are as follows;-

The grounds of the hotel lack any form of seating apart from the sunbeds, which are too low for me to get down on. There are a couple of old very low worn out benches by the tennis court and by the kids play area but nothing else unless you want to sit in the shady bar area.

The deeper pool which is better for swimming has no disabled access. The other pool which does is not terribly deep in most areas and tends to be very busy as the kids club use it to clown around in. The jacuzzi beds are fun though!

The towel delivery is a bit of a hit and miss - a couple of days the maid came in to clean the room early and left taking our dirty towels but not leaving us any clean ones at all. One day we waited nearly 7 hours and eventually had to call reception as we were waiting to shower for dinner. Some days they supplied a mat for the floor of the bathroom but other days they didn't and we ended up having to use one of the hand towels. Also, anti slip mats in the bath would be much appreciated - the baths are very slippy and we ended up using the bath mat inside the bath most nights.

Unfortunately we weren't allowed to keep our room on past mid day on the last day and our flight was at 7pm. However reception were very helpful. We booked the shower room which is in the gymnasium area and were provided with towels, and a key to lock the door. The only issue was the floor was exceptionally slippy, and very wet, and the shower cubicles also very slippy too. A nightmare trying to put clean dry clothes on while sliding about in an inch of water!

Apart from that everything else is very positive. The hotel was full but you honestly would not have known it. We hardly ever heard a sound on our floor and not a dicky bird from the room next to us. The restaurant was always quiet when we were down for meals, and never once did I see the pool area so busy that you couldn't get a sunbed. We had sun on our balcony until at least 1pm every day.

Whilst we were there, they were replacing a load of the old TVs with brand new Samsung flat screen ones - we had ours swapped one day while we were out which was a nice surprise. Our room too has had a new bed since we last stayed and it was a huge memory foam mattress. Best bed i've ever slept in - and it was a proper double too, not a split mattress.

We were there as a couple with no kids, but what we did see of the kids entertainers was brilliant - the kids were having a ball.

I loved seeing all the little cats dotted around the hotel grounds too - there were about 5 of them. A couple were very playful and kept pawing at my walking stick, thinking it was something for them to play with. They are very friendly if you interact with them but they won't come near you if you dont.

The food was fabulous. I love the fact that they have a lot of normal food, and less of the "mystery meat floating in some sort of wet stuff". Breakfasts were fab with fresh made omelettes and pancakes, and proper British thick pork sausages every morning - no hot dogs in sight! The only thing I could say would be that the sausages were never very warm - even one morning when we were first in the door at 8am they were barely warm. My only major complaint about the restaurant was NO CREPES??? Last year they had the chef cooking fresh crepes one evening of the week however this year, not once did we get that pleasure, and I was so looking forward to it as well.

It was nice to see that the prom between the hotel and Caletta has been finished so you don't need to walk across the sand for about half a mile - I'm hoping they will put some sort of seating on it at some point, as currently there is seating as far along as the Sheraton Hotel, and then a huge expanse of just road from there to Caletta - a good half mile - with nowhere to rest.

We will be returning again in November and looking forward to it already

Dear churchill47,

Thank you very much for taking your time to write such a complete and positive review about your second stay in the hotel Elba Sara.
We are glad to read that we managed to meet your request thanks to your email prior to arrival which I presume has contributed to a positive start of your holiday.
Thank you for pointing out the lack of seating apart from the sun beds around the pool.
For your next visit; please communicate this to our guest service department and I’m sure that we can find a solution to make your next visit more comfortable in this aspect.
Indeed a part of the fresh towels are brought back from the laundry in the afternoon and we are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.We can always leave a note for our housekeeping that you request your towels to be changed in the morning and they will do their best to meet that.

We always try to avoid giving the gym as the shower room but unfortunately we do not have any other solution when we are fully booked and our customers insist in having a shower before their late departure.

We are very happy to read that you have witnessed some improvements since your last visit and we are already looking forward to November to welcome you again.

Best and sunny regards from all the Elba Sara staff
