“Good hotel.”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Have just returned after a weeks self catering at the risco dorada, after having read the reviews before I went and reading a few bad ones I have to say overall I found it a very welcoming and clean hotel. I had a room with a sea view and lovely balcony, one thing was I booked a one bedroom apartment but ended up with a studio room which was ok as it was a very large studio room. This as I said in my comment form is a good hotel but with a bit of investment and update could be an exellent hotel.

From the moment we stepped into reception we were greeted by the friendly reception staff, they throughly guided and informed us not only about the hotel but the resort too, situated on the sea front with all shops nearby, the beach is a 5min stroll away. Our breath was taken away on entering our sea view room, super clean, comfortable and spacious, the shower is more powerful then mine at home!!! flat screen tele with all the channels to keep the kids amused.
All the staff were helpful and the resturant was superb, great chioce of food every day, the gardens and pool area were kept clean and tidy, I most definatly recommend this hotel, can't wait to return again.

Room Tip: defo sea view

We've just returned from a nice 7 days break in Fuerteventura and we would like to recommend the resort and the hotel.
Caleta de Fuste is only a short ride away from the airport so don’t bother with a transfer, just get a taxi – it’s only 13€. We were made very welcome in the Risco Dorado hotel where we booked on all inclusive and didn't have to worry about anything. The Hotel is in a good location right by the seaside, the staff were all very friendly, we had a good sea view apartment, we enjoyed the food and drinks, getting tanned by the pool side and going for walks around the resort.
We also found lots of shops, bars, restaurants and activities around the area and visited the capital of the island Puerto del Rosario with its “local atmosphere” by the church park with a good shopping centre, commercial pedestrian area and a nice seaside promenade by the harbor.
All in all a good and relaxing holiday!

Like others we were a little apprehensive after reading some of the negative reviews but there was really no need to be and to be honest we thought them to be very unfair. We had booked a sea view room and it was both spacious and clean ( the shower is better than mine at home). Both the hotel staff and the restaurant staff were most accommodating and very friendly - nothing was too much trouble and as we were travelling with a 6 month old child it was much appreciated. We found the food both plentiful and varied, we had booked all inclusive and said that we would probably have a couple of meals out but we didn't as there was no need to - we enjoyed what there was. The location was excellent and we would have no hesitation in booking this hotel again.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are worth the extra especially I would think in the heat of summer because of the bre...

From the moment we arrived after leaving our first hotel, the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble including finding a doctor for our 9 year old who suffered a rather nasty accident during our holiday.
Staff were always helpful , Chris is a diamond geezer. Rooms were always clean and the beds were soft and comfortable.
The hotel is located wonderfully for sea views and coastal walks, the Buffalo bar was always open for snacks and drinks but the jewel in the crown is the Luna Blue cafe, do not miss it !!!!!! Excellent food, great staff and good company. The pool was always available, albeit a little chilly and sunbeds are plentiful.
There is only one question to ask when writing a review such as this and that is. Would we go back? the answer is definitely, we would and will. I recommend the Risco Dorado completely !!!

Room Tip: Cant speak for all rooms but the sea views are terrific

Hi we just come back from here , I had a great week with my friends . Right we got to the hotel ,a man called chris was on the reception he was very helpful , I didn't like my first room because I wanted to be next door to my friends , he moved me straight away and I was very happy with this room. The hotel is very clean plus the rooms are to , they only change sheets once a week , but if you ask the cleaner she will do it more often. The pool was very cold has it is not heated ! But it's very hot there and windy so you don't mind ! The restaurant people were brilliant so friendly and will do anything to please you . Breakfast was great bacon eggs everything you wanted was there it was lovely . Lunch was ok , steak chops chicken fish they even had a BBQ one day plus chips every day and salad , rolls etc . Dinner wasn't has nice has lunch they had fish meat strew , but I am a fussy eater ! Loads of little cakes and ice cream , the restaurant is not very big but when we were there it was ok because the hotel wasn't that busy , don't no what it would be like if it was packed ! . The Buffalo bar was ok the beer was nice but spirits a bit crap , they do bar snacks , not much thou burger and chips or cheese toastie or hotdog chips . This is when the restaurant is closed . There is a cocktail bar called Luna blue this is nice but you have to pay here there don't do all-inclusive , plus they do food to . The people who run the bar were lovely they also run the Buffalo bar with is all-inclusive , they are the 2 Tonys man and wife very lovely people . It's about a 10 min walk to the sandy beach there are shops and little bars all around . I would defo go back to this hotel we had a great week . Sharon & Eddie
