We stayed here for eleven nights at the start of January and couldn't fault these apartments.
They were cleaned every day, fresh towels each day if needed and sheets changed twice.
Not only was the apartment itself kept spotless by the cheery cleaners but the surroundings and gardens were every bit as clean. Even hosed down all the outside area to keep down the dust.
The apartments are a ten minute taxi from the airport and a two minute walk from the precinct, also immaclate. There are plenty of decent pubs and places to eat within a few minutes walk and the beach is also a few minutes walk away.
The only thing I noticed was the bar on site was open at night when we arrived but by the time we left it was only open until 6.30pm. Perhaps staff shortage as the barmaid who served us at first said she was leaving to go home at the end of the week.
All in all a very nice place to stay and well equipped with everything you would need for self catering. All the staff are a credit to the company, happy and helpfull.
Would definately go back.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely break staying here - the bungalows are not exactly five star but they are perfectly comfortable and very clean. The whole complex is attractive with plenty of plants to provide some privacy at each bungalow although I was glad we weren't facing the main road or on a corner where everyone had to walk past. The receptionist was very helpful - we asked for a late check out which was no problem although a bit annoying that they charged 25 Euros even when there were plenty of empty bungalows for any new arrivals. The location was great - close to bars, restaurants and the beach - mind you, it only takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end of the resort to the other ! Overall, great for a few nights but I think any longer may require somewhere with a bit more to do.

Just returned from our first visit to Castillo Playa, although have visited Caleta many times. Great value for money, great friendly helpful staff, accommodation very good, only let down, the bar in the complex. Definitely past it's sell by date & needs total refurb. Loved our maid Dulce, very friendly & helpful. Location superb, very quiet. Was a hit for us, due to not so many children visiting. Will look forward to another visit, soon we hope. If it's peace & quiet you want, at a decent price, this is it. Ask for a bungalow away from the pool for extra quiet. We went to escape the bedlam of Christmas, however, was surprised to find the 'pensioner's club' a bit further along from us, who put tinsel on the cactus in the well kept gardens, Merry Christmas signs hanging from the doors, and even hand made lanterns hanging from the plants. How strange - perhaps they were homesick!
We too are 'pensioners' but much prefer to be quiet!

Room Tip: For really quiet bungalow, although it is a very quiet place, ask for one away from the pool

Stayed in December 2011 for the third time great to see pool finished (after refurb). The bar was selling bear at 2.50 euros which isn't bad (£2.20ish a pint!).Food is really good Burgers, chips and breakfasts.OK its not a restaurant menu but its good value & quality being cooked by Lizzy. We stay nearly every year and in the winter its warm 23c+ compared to UK temp 5c?.The reviews are right a good place for your money,if you are thing of going full board & want a hotel beware as we here repeating story's from people who stay @ the Calleta hotel nearby about issues with the quality of the food.Anyway back to the bungalows take a usb stick with you to watch your films,mp3s the televisions are great!.We tend to go out a few nights and stay in a couple so put yr movies on a stick/harddrive,etc!!.To sum up great location, friendly,& clean.

Room Tip: book thro' Hotels4you for best deal!

Stayed here with friends after reading TripAdvisor reviews and getting a great deal with Travel Republic. Really can't fault it, everything clean & adequately equipped though starting to look a little tired and in need of a facelift. Spacious with a separate bedroom and lounge area and the washroom in particular was very nice and appeared to have been recently revamped. Nice size terrace with table and chairs also sunbeds with the most sumptuous mattresses I have ever seen, they must be 75mm (3in) thick and FREE OF CHARGE. Maid service most days and all staff really pleasant and friendly. Lola who does the evening shift in the bar is a good laugh, speaks very little english but nice lady.

The most important thing I must point out is the location. I have mobility problems and I cannot recommend these apartments highly enough. Not just for ease of access to the apartments/complex but to their position in the resort. They are tucked away down a very quiet side street but with a 2 or 3 minute level access to the resort centre. Turn right out of the complex and then left at the junction and you are on the promenade/beachfront, again within just 2 or 3 minutes. It was lucky as I was unaware of this when I booked as the majority of other apartment complexes are located in a raised area at the rear of the resort and having walked it once I would have found it impossible on a daily basis.

Just returned from Castillo Playa. Excellent value for money and excellent location. If you are looking for a quiet break, Fuerteventura is the place. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from bars, restaurants and shops and also near the beach. The bungalows themselves are very clean, the maids came in nearly every day. Reception very helpful and polite. Didn't go into the pool but looked nice. There is a snooker table and bar area as well as a sunbathing area. Kitchen area was good, had a fridge, 2 cooking rings, kettle and toaster, everything you need! Outside area was good, each bungalow gets a terrace with 2 sunloungers and table and chairs. Ask reception for the free sunbed pads so they are a bit more comfy. Best thing about these apartments for us were the cats! The bungalows have a cat cafe where visitors can put down food and biscuits for the cats. Twinkle Trust (a UK based charity) put in place these cat cafe's on the island to help the cats. There is also a donation box where you can leave money for the volunteers on the island (this is in reception). Please do buy some food if you go to these apartments and leave these for the cats at the cat cafe and if you see a tabby and white cat (which we named Whisker) please be nice to him! I've added a picture of him as part of this review.

All in all, a lovely holiday if you are looking for a quiet break with comfortable accommodation in a good location.
