“so good for the money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

ok here is our honest review for the fuerteventura beach club, firstly i guess we got an amazing deal we had a two bedroom apt and we paid less than £200 each including flights and transfers. thought the apt was great for what we paid, yes the fridge had some rust on the outside but hey it kept our beers cold so no problems and it was plenty big enough. We had everything we needed for self catering all of the cooking utensils were of good quality and condition the hob looked fairly new and we had a kettle and toaster. There was a hot water tank in the bathroom (electric) so we had constant hot water and the pressure in the shower was excellent probably the best ever. Plenty of towels as well as extra blankets maid came twice during our week and there was a broom dustpan mop and bucket there so all good. didn't encounter any bugs or insects room was very clean. Balcony was of a good size but we spent most of our time outside the front door, in the walled front garden as this was a little sun trap and out of the very strong wind. Didn't use any of the hotel amenities i.e. bars etc but the pool outside our apt looked amazingly clean and the sun loungers were new and great quality much better than normal white plastic. Check in and out was excellent the lady on reception was english and very very helpful. Also the changing/shower area below reception was amazing. Plenty of hairdryers, mirrors, sinks, individual shower cubicles and toilets all kept really clean.

The only bad points i can think of are that the beds were the usual two singles pushed together instead of a double and as we now have memory foam at home i really don't find sprung mattresses that comfortable but thats personal preference although both bedrooms were great sizes excellent wardrobe space and bedside cabinets and both had big dressing tables with mirror and chairs.

It was in a good location 3 supermarkets in the immediate area including 2 selling british foods only if that floats your boat on holiday also numerous bars serving food and restaurants and a couple offering a takeaway service. It was a leisurely 10 minute walk into the centre of town and the beach, Downhill on the way uphill back however didn't find it to steep and there is a land train that runs right outside the reception down through town to the harbour and back didn't get a price but wouldn't think it was too expensive.

All in all, Find it really hard to pick faults at that price would definitely return i have stayed in worse places in caletta for a lot more money really really enjoyed our stay would definitely recommend it is really very good for a budget stay

So looking forward to a week away , what a shame it was a let down, got to our apartment after getting key from reception, opened the door to appartment and the smell of damp hit us all.obviously not been opened up or aired .The toilet had been used by someone and not flushed, the fridge was rusty and iced up and the 2 kitchen cupboards were hanging off, there was dried chewing gum on mirror in bedroom.even though we had booked in for 3 people there was only enough bedding for 2.we went to reception and they said bedding was at laundry and maid would nring later , they also got someone to fix cupboards although didnt look any different after.the next day we had a visit from a man who said he was there as a customer feedback .we then found out he was just selling appartments on the complex. Real shame as we have been to this resort before but wouldnt stay here again

Room Tip: Would recommend Barcello in caleta de fuste

Very pleased with this resort so clean and friendly. We had a two bedroom bungalow which was a little tired in decor but had everything we could want for cooking, sleeping and washing. Staff were very helpful and requests (extra blankets) were dealt with promptly. Restaurant was excellent for choice value and staff very attentive. Zanzibar bar was comfortable and clean reasonable prices and excellent free entertainment. The surrounding area was very clean and had a huge selection of bars and restaurants and the local motor train was a bonus providing transport to and from beach.
Caleta de Fuste town is so clean no timeshare touts or pressure leaflets. Can recommend to any couple for a grea twinter break

Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was reasonably clean but could have been better . The room was large and had most things in it. The room really needs a few jobs doing to smarten it up. We asked for extra blankets a hairdryer and another saucepan as there was only one, all were promptly provided. maid visited 3 times per week Not the most salubrious but we had a great holiday. In general it was good value and all you need was there.

I stayed here and it was very good for what we payed...

Good Points:
•Very close to the town and beach
•Has a nice view depending which room your staying in
•Very cheap
•There are 3 decent pools to chose from

Bad Points:
•Rooms need modernising
•Ants are EVERYWHERE
•Entertainment is...not entertaining (from the Zanzibar)
•Resturaunt is horrible
•Worst of all... NO WIFI!!!!
•Pools are freezing

☆Random: The hotel is on a hill so it can be a bit tiring going up and down it constantly going to the town, but not to worry! There is a 'funny train' which takes you up and down the hill and straight to the town.

My husband and I arrived at the Beach Club apartments on the 26th December 2013. We were given the key to room 25 (remember this number if you do decide to give it a go) on entry we were apalled by the smell which seemed to come mainly from the bedroom. On further inspection we found rust all up the front of the fridge and ants on the floor below it, the toilet had a rusty stain all down it, the bath was well yucky, there were live wires hanging out a cupboard in the kitchen with a bit of connector strip on, and the floor had numerous cracked tiles. I was a bit scared to look but was relieved to find the sheets were spotless so very tired we just went to bed and decided to see if we could get a room change the next day.
We went to reception and explained above but said that really we just found the smell the most off putting even though the rest of the room had its faults. We were told they were fully booked and we coulsd't be moved. We said we would pay more money for an upgrade and were told to ask for a chap in the Zanzibar across the road and they might be able to do something. Great, we thought until we realised we had to take out a 'Holiday Membership' before we could pay the 200 or so Euros for the better rooms. I said oh timeshare which he said no to but we are not daft. We thanked him and left.
We ended up (and it really works if you ever are in the same predicament) buying 4 onions, cut them in half and left them in the room and it took the smell away for a few days then we put down more.
To sum up and to be fair, the people we spoke to in 22 said their room was very basic but they didn't have any of the problems we did and they suggested we try to move to their room as they were leaving the next day. We did try but were told no. In one week we had our towels changed once. We had to go and ask for towels which we were given.
I always give a true and realistic review and I feel that there were many people there who had a really nice holiday, the staff at the pool bar were very nice and had we been given a room like number 22 perhaps we would have a completely different view of things but we weren't hence the review.
We were self catering and ate out all of the time as to be honest I didn't want to attempt to cook in the room with the ants staying for dinner too! Margaritas which is just next to Wild West Steak House was fantastic as was Wild West restaurant, also there are three bars all linked down a set of stairs which has very good entertainment. (Rat Pack, Michael Buble etc)
There is a market on a Tuesday & Saturday in the open area near Tony's restaurant. You can get a number 3 bus to Caleta for 2 euros 80 cents (2 people) and there is a large shopping centre there for us shoppers.
In conclusion I will not return to this place and it is all because of the room, perhaps if they had been more accomodating and moved us it would have been a completely different review.

Room Tip: Do not accept room 25!!!!!
