Geranios Suites & Spa Hotel
Ranked #7 of 23 Hotels in Caleta de Fuste

As everyone has said about this hotel it is a lovely hotel but the food lets it down. My wife and myself stayed here for 2 weeks All Inclusive in March and due to the temperature and the lack of replenishing of the food we ate out quite a lot .
,The pool was closed for maintenance for 5 days, this we didn't mind because there has to be some maintenance done as to keep it safe and hygenic it just so happened that it was when we were there, the water was very cold in the pool so not many people used it, There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool with about 14 parasols.
The location is excellent close enough for the restaurants and far enough away for peace and quiet.
The bar in the hotel run out of Vodka twice and beer once whilst we stayed there, how this happened I don't know as there weren't that many people there, and nobody seemed to be drinking excessively
I believe if they employed another 2 or 3 staff in the restaurant to help with the replenishing of the food and beverages and sorted the temperature of the food this hotel would be one of the top 4 star hotels in the area, and it would be pretty full all the time.
Saying all that I would stay at this hotel again but Self Catering

Room Tip: You will need to amend your budget as you may eat out often

Just came back from Geranios and i could easly say that positively shocked me. I have read loads of reviews before i went and can tell that we were worried as much as you could think when people get worried about something. Our group of 5 mostly focused on place to stay and spend the rest of the time away from any hotel and so we did. thats why we booked ourselves only for bed&breakfast and i'll tell you the true story about this place.

People say reception wasn't clean enough and their children came back to their roms with black socks all over.......HELLO!! the beach is right next to the hotel!!! Does it ring any bells to someone that when you swim in the ocean and come back to the hotel for a little shower you may even walk with your bare feet??? well i did and i didnt care if it was spotless clean or not walking on cooler tiles after coming back from roasting beach was like a a bit of sunshine in a cloudy day!

People said that food was terrible....well i was worried about that one as well as the rest of our group and what was the effect? Full of items plates on every single table with every single person. sausages bacon eggs everything was tasty no complaints about them. the only thing i would suggest to them was that they should of change the variety of food day after day. after 5 days of eating same (good) stuff my stomach basically didnt want same food again.

Rooms: WOW....Big Bedroom , giant living room and toilet and what even kitchen with fridge and microwave and dishes...what else would you want from 4 star hotel? Rooms were kept clean for whole week we cooked some food at night and rest of the time ate in town so we really enjoyed it.

Pool was great well water was a bit colder then in summer time but come on it's march... once you get used to the water you can swim.
I dnt know what the food was like for the rest of the day maybe thats why people complaint so much but i personally think all inclusive becomes a bit boring now .

Activities were poor thats the fact but we didnt care because Caleta de Fuste has got some disco pubs anyway free entry.

Every single one of us said that could come back to the same place again no problem and probably for b&b again. Shops are 2 mins away so you can cook and eat as much as you like and what you like the most.

Hotel itself is new fasioned and you really feel like you're in 4 star one so we enjoyed it. Stuff is friendly and helpful so there was no much to complaint about them.

fuerteventura is worth seeing and Caleta de Fuste is good place to stay and Geranios Suites is much recommended by us. Thanks

Room Tip: I heard that see view is great but i heard is more expensive as well so who cares what room you gonn...

I stayed at the Geranios late feb/early march with my partner. First impressions of the hotel were really positive, the hotel reception area was spacious, very clean and welcoming. Check in was fine, the gentleman that dealt with us was really pleasant and although there was a small mix up with our booking name, it wasn't an issue and dealt with really quickly.

We were allocated room 369 which had a view of the pool area and to a certain extent, the beach/sea. The room itself was definitely the best part of the hotel. The suite was equipped with kitchenette, living room/dining area, bedroom, bathroom and spacious balcony. We stayed all inclusive so didn't buy food in however the suite would have been more than adequate if we had but a full size fridge always comes in handy for the bottles of water (and decent wine!)

Although the room was great, there were unfortunately a couple fo negatives; there were double sinks in the bathroom which initally i thought was great...until one of them decided to leak whilst washing my face. Admittedly, we didn't report it as it's not something we felt was a massive big deal. The TV was in the bedroom which i thought was bizarre considering there was a living area. Saying that, it encouraged a couple of siestas! It was also fairly evident that our room hadn't been used in some time prior to our visit. The surfaces were extremely dusty!

The pool area was massive and we didn't have an issue finding a bed. According to the other reviews on here, i was expecting that we would be the only peolple in the hotel! This wasn't the case but we didn't have a problem finding a bed or table in the restaurant. I used the pool once but a mixture of the poorer weather and the fact the pool was ice cold....needless to say i wasn't in there again! The pool area was really clean, spacious and relaxing.

The restaurant/food, well...in my opinion, this was a major factor of letting the hotel down. The restaurant is surprisingly small for the size of the hotel so there wasn't a lot of food to choose from: always salad (conspicuously looking like that of the previous evening), lots of rice, always chips, some meat creation. Unfortunately, the food was always cold which didn't make for a pleasant meal. There were issues with cutlery; my partner had to eat breakfast with two spoons on one occasion. Yes, it provided me with entertainment but it wasn't ideal! The small soft drinks fridge was never full and rarely contained diet coke. I was told by the staff on more than one occasion they had ran out of diet coke. The glasses were bordering on dirty. The breakfast toaster was literally the slowest appliance i have ever encountered.
Each night, the chef made freshly cooked meats on the grill to the rear of the restaurant and this i think was the hottest thing i ate. Also, there wasn't any tomato ketchup. Call me picky, but i like a bit of red sauce with my bacon!

I agree with the comments about the staff. I never once found them unpleasant but there literally isn't enough of them to run the hotel successfully. It appeared to me they worked from dawn til dusk which, other than them being run down, doesn't provide an excellent customer service.

We didn't use the spa but did go down for a look. The basic spa cost was 10euros and treatments were exactly the same price as home. There was also a small but fairly well equipped fitness room and squash courts.

Regarding the loaction, the Geranios couldn't be better. It's right on the beach and only a short walk into town. A 10min walk takes you to the Atlantico centre which has a massive supermarket so if you were self catering, it's an ideal place to get supplies. There's also a McDonalds across the road from the supermarket if times got really bad!

In the town centre, we ate at 2 restaurants; La Boguetta (or that of a similar spelling) a nice family restaurant where the pizzas are a must to try and El Patio which in my opinion is very spanish in decor with a very pleasant gentleman on acoustic guitar. The food was delicious and it was certainly a good break from the dire hotel food.

This was my 3rd visit to Fuerteventura but the first in a hotel. If i was to return, i would definitely go back to staying in a self catering villa or look for a different hotel. The Geranios is between the Barcelo and Sheraton and i would prefer to look at these than Geranios. I wouldn't advise to avoid the hotel but i would suggest to go self catering.

Just got back from staying here with my family. We went all inclusive what was a big mistake first of all the food was so disgusting we couldn't eat it so ate out every night. The drinks were all watered down and tasted horrible too. The general service in the hotel was poor. At about 1am at night I woke up and was very thirsty and felt ill so my boyfriend went downstairs to go get a drink as we had none in our room and you can't drink out of the tap so he went downstairs and there was nowhere to get a drink he asked the receptionist who said if he wanted a bottle of water we had to pay for it! Even though we explained we are all inclusive we still had to pay for a bottle of water! The receptionist was very rude in general. It is such a shame to write a bad review as the island is beautiful and the beaches are amazing. If you go hire out a car and explore we found so many nice places to go. The hotel itself is located in a lovely area with the local little town about a 10minute walk away. I personally would not return to this hotel or recommend it.

First impressions was that it was a large modern open space. We were a bit worried what our room would be like as we had booked a standard suite with one of the cheaper companys. Opened the door with trepidation but found that we had a lovely suite with a great bathroom. The balcony was large and had nice furniture, we even had a partial sea view and a view of the pool. The room and hotel was very clean with our room cleaned and new towels provided every day. As we were SC can't comment on the food but speaking to AI guests they said it was ok. The pool area was nice and spacious and there was an area to sunbathe overlooking the beach. The pools were cold the same as other hotels in the resort.

Reading other reports it has been said the hotel was soulless and I can understand why especially if there was not many guests, but I imagine most hotels would be? Whilst we were there at times there were lots of people around the pool, pool bar and the bar at night. We noticed that there was some entertainment offered most evenings so I think they are trying to make an effort? The music around the pool was quite good too! We didn't use the spar it looked a little gloomy.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to couples as there needs to be more facilities for families. Personally I would have loved an outside hot tub or jacuzzi, there is plenty of space to put one. It was our second time in Caleta de Fuste and once again we really enjoyed the eating out and happy hours! it is very reasonable and hopefully we will be going back and we would stay at the suites again.

We have just returned on 9th march 2013 after a weeks all inclusive stay at this hotel. On arrival at the hotel our first impressions were it looked a little dated from the outside, but modern inside. Check in was quick but it was like a maze to find our room 240. There was no one to hand to show us to our room we just had to find it ourselves. Once we got to our room we were very surprised, the room was massive and very clean, no complaints there. The hotel is very quiet which is good if you just want to chill out. The pool area is big, we never had a problem in getting a sun bed but this may be different in the summer months if the hotel is busier.
The restaurant is quite small for the size of the hotel, we had to queue at breakfast and evening meal times, when we ate there it will never cope in the summer.
The food - this is a real let down for this hotel. Food was cold and repetative and they were always running out and very slow to replenish stocks. The crockery and glasses were marked and some were dirty, we had to sift through to find clean ones. Some times there was a shortage of knifes and fork.
The staff - the staff work very hard, the problem was there was not enough of them to maintain a good service, the management need to look at the restaurant area and improve this as this would make a massive improvement to the hotel. We ate out five nights out of the seven due to my comments above.
The location of the hotel is good with just a ten minute walk into the centre of calleta de fuste.
Taxi from the airport costs 12:60 euros.
Summary.
We really enjoyed our week at fuerteventura and would certainly return to calleta de fuste.
If you stay at this hotel do not go all inclusive as you will be disappointed, go room only or self catering.
The rooms are excellent - no complaints there
The hotel is just a 3 star not a 5 star in my opinion
Eating out...
Aberdeen steak house was excellent and very cheap.
Steak house is good to.
Pierios has some good entertainment - worth a visit. I watched man u get beat there :-(

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a sea view
