Geranios Suites & Spa Hotel
Ranked #7 of 23 Hotels in Caleta de Fuste
Reviewed 3 November 2013

We've been staying at the Geranios Suites approx every other year for the past 10 years and the hotel has become a little rough around the edges in this time, losing it's 5 star status to 4 star (which is more like a 3 star in the Canaries!) nevertheless we had a very pleasant stay. We stayed in a superior suite on the top floor which was very large with a long entrance hallway leading to an open plan kitchenette/living/dining area, separate bedroom and bathroom. There were double patio doors opening onto a huge sea view balcony complete with 2 sun loungers, table and 4 chairs. We kept the Do Not Disturb sign on the door until we wanted the the room servicing (every 2-3 days) and the lovely lady who came to clean always left us new towels, loads of toiletries and clean sheets on the bed. The pools are quite large and not as cold as we were expecting from previous years! Complimentary wifi in the hotel reception area was hit and miss for signal. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Parking was ample, we hired a car for the duration of our stay and drove all over the island (get an island map from reception, the most detailed one we found). I'd recommend a trip through the mountains from Costa Calma to the old town of Betancuria - white knuckle stuff so take it steady but rewards with fantastic scenery. Overall a good, fairly quiet hotel which we will return to again.

Room Tip: Superior suites are well worth the extra charge

Booked all inclusive though easyjet holidays. We arrived at the hotel starving and tired, and were immediately greeted by a friendly receptionist that checkd us in and told us that our room was not yet ready (which we expected) as we had our first beer and burger at the snack bar near the pool we waited for the room to be ready. When we finally got to our room, it was very luxurious we thought for what we had paid. A small kitchen, a bathroom with separate toilet, a living room, our bedroom with two huge beds and the terrace, made up our little apartment. We were immediately impressed. After reading the negative reviews we were dreading lunch, but the buffets were always pletiful and varied, most importantly the beer on tap was delicius and there was a huge fridge filled with Coca Cola in glass bottles, which I attacked.
The beach was literally outside the main doors and there was lenty of space, on the days that we felt more energetic, we would cross the desert like space on the right side of the hotel to go the much nicer beach beyond and to do a bit of shopping.
In the afternoon we would go to the pool, in the morning, at the sun beds were reserved before sunrise and we had no desire to compete with the early risers, but the routine worked nicely. Although we avoided the evening entretainment as it really was quite poor.
As the package was so cheap we also vetnured to other local eateries for dinner which was fun too. Fuerteventura is surely an island dedicated to peace and relaxation, which was very welcome indeed. We were sad to leave and could not fault the place.
Notes:
You most defiantely need a car to get around the island
I felt that the airport was a bit too close to the hotel
Where we were there was really quite little to do in the evenings
The local goat cheese is amazing
Papas Arrugas (the local traditional potatoes) to my taste as really not as apetizing as the description

Location great, and only 15mins max from airport. Stayed 19th Oct for a week. We were on all inclusive, which was okay for one week. Foods not great but not bad for a week. Any longer and I think you would get sick of the food. I would prefer self catering if staying again, but others in my party wanted to try this option.

Hotel is very clean, junior suite was massive. Balcony was great coming off both bedroom and main room( three of us stayed). Although the sofa bed was uncomfortable. I would say hotel 3.5 star. Wifi took ages to connect but once connected was great. Reception staff were great, well the one I dealt with. One women at reception was a bit rude to my friends on several occasions. Unfortunately I did see other holiday travellers experience the same rude behaviour from her.

Beach was less than 5mins walk and there was plenty of pathways to go walking. Main shops, restraurants, bars and banks no more than 15 mins away. Most days temperature was in 28 - 30 degrees. With a little breeze.

Would stay again, but would shop around for price and go self catering.

Don't get me wrong the hotel was fab, but some of the staff were very rude, and unsociable. Apart from that I had a lovely time, the hotel is worth staying in and some of the staff were really helpful. Brill facilities.

All inclusive for two weeks - rooms spacious with kitchenette, fridge, microwave etc. Clean and well looked after. I broke the hairdryer and it was repaired by the time we returned in the evening. Food choice very good with a selection of freshly cooked meats. Bread fresh and sometimes even warm. Cuppa tea not so good! We had a packed lunch/picnic everyday and was too much there for us to get through. Wi-fi in large spacious reception. Tried to pay for wi-fi in our room to download some stuff but it was pricey and stressy to accomplish. Staff mostly pleasant, usually a queue for drinks at the bar as usual with AI. Overall very good.

Room Tip: In our view beds comfortable

After reading many earlier negative reviews I was rather apprehensive about this hotel and our all inclusive choice. I needn't have worried, it was brilliant.! The hotel is on the beach front, and has a huge entrance and reception with lots of seating for using the free wi fi (there is a charge to use this in your room) From arrival all the staff we met were very pleasant and more than happy to help with anything, including ordering a wheelchair to providing a kettle and extra balcony chair within ten minutes of the request.
The suite was lovely, it was very spacious and modern and was cleaned everyday. The balcony was the biggest I have ever had on a holiday and was at pool level which was lovely. Fresh towels were provided everyday if required, all you had to do was leave the ones in the bath which were to be replaced and it was done.
The food was perfectly fine and very varied, I really don't know what some people expect ! You are in a foreign country where things are cooked and prepared differently so you can't expect what you have at home, moaning people should stay in England if they don't like different styles of food!!. Everyday were different choices, meats, fish, pastas and rices, always plenty of fresh fruit and salads, lovely crusty breads etc. Beer wine and soft drinks were help yourself in the restaurant which is fine, I liked being able to get it myself when I wanted.
The pools were beautiful and clean , we saw the water being checked everyday . There were 3 pools , one of which was brilliant for children.
Evening entertainment isn't something we bother with on holiday as we like to walk out in the evening so can't comment on the quality of this, however there was something different every night for those who like to stay in. It was only a ten minute stroll to the shops, bars and restaurants of the town and there are also several shops and cafes immediately outside the hotel.
Caleta is a lovely area, only less than ten minute taxi ride from airport . We had a very relaxing week, beautiful weather , good food and excellent accommodation - what more do you want

we stayed in October as a couple in our twentys on an all inclusive basis.
we had a junior suite over looking the smaller pool with a sea view.
the room was more than big enough and cleaned every day. we received clean toilets and extra toiletries every day also.
The buffet restaurant was always well staffed with plenty of choice. The food was tasty and fresh-no complaints whatsoever.
the poolside snacks werent great but we mostly stuck to the restaurant for eating anyway.
Never had an problems getting a sun lounger no matter what time of day we went down. the pools were very cold and all were salt water which was a bit yuk but again not a huge problem.
the staff were all very helpful/smiley and the hotel was always clean. Its huge btw!
location wise it was fantastic right on the beach, very quiet at night but only 10mins walk to the main strip.
would recommend.
