Came back from a weeks stay on sat 5th july. Stayed in room 265 which is a junior suite half board. Very impressed with room was lovely and clean spacious with a sea view and pool view. Cleaned everyday. We heard no noise whatsoever from the neighbours and I slept on the balcony one day and it was silent all night. Food was lovely no complaints..staff were very helpful and accomodating. Tickles me that people moan about the food there was a choice for everyone and if you load your plate with a bit of everything..food will seem the same everyday. breakfast was fully catered for all nationalites I wouldnt personally go for all inclusive unless you were going to stay in the hotel all day. We went out every night to pieros an english bar that plays life music and has the sports channels...from what I could see the entertainment at the hotel was not upto much and the queues for drinks were long. But that didnt matter to us as we went out. Had a lovely stay and loved the hotel thankyou very much to all the staff

Stayed all inclusive. Had a good time and very happy with my experience.
The service was good in all areas from the bar, front desk, pool, cleaning, child entertainment, restaurant and many others. The kids entertainment I would highly rate. I could leave the kids alone and even the clingy ones were happy to stay and get on with the staff.
The staff were friendly and accommodating and were happy to help out with any request I had.
The location was great right next to the beach with a large English influence where you could get fish and chips, beer and English football, and loads of others. Sometimes you wouldn't know it was Spain.
The cleanliness is great with the rooms cleaned regularly and to a high standard. The open area areas of the hotel was again great, and from the room we were in, we could see the staff cleaning the pool area every day. The maintenance of the hotel does require improvement with tiles falling out of the swimming pool and signs of plaster coming off the walls. If dealt with early it would save a lot of work later on.
The dining experience could be improved. The freshness of the vegetarian options and quality of the vegetarian options was great. It was let down by a few points. The labels were not clear or missing. Utensils were missing from some of the dishes and so people started to swap ladles and spoons. If you were allergic to something, you could be in trouble. I did ask for staff extra serving spoons, which was immediately dealt with, but a little late if the dish was already spoilt. This greatly improved as our holiday went on. I did go out to eat once in a while and there are some good local canary island vegetarian dishes.

Would it be reasonable to suggest that even at full board you would receive at least water or tea/coffee with a meal? We didn't see the need for all inclusive as we didn't feel it necessary as we don't really drink. So we received our orange bands which meant we couldn't have drinks and staff made this extremely clear at meal times and most of the time in an abrupt manner which left us feeling embarrassed in front of other guests. Staff shouted across the restaurant and on one instance even chased us to make sure we received the piece of paper with a cross that told us we couldn't have any drink (not even water) at meal times. The meals were excellent however the service and the lack of drink made the experience uncomfortable. If you do plan on going make sure to take extra cash to purchase a bottle of water for €2!!

Dear Macton,

Thank you for taking time to share your experience at Geranios Suites and also rating us.
On behalf of the team, we apologize for not reaching 100% of your expectations during your stay.

I just want to say that the difference between All Inclusive and Full Board is that in second option drinks are not included so is more expensive first option.

We hope you give us a new opportunity in the future and you can check by your own as we are improving every day.

We stayed all inclusive at this hotel from June 11th-18th. Overall we had a pleasant stay and enjoyed our holiday. I will review each aspect in sections out of 5 (5/5 being excellent, 1/5 being terrible):

Location 4/5
Right on a the promenade and adjacent to a pleasant beach which never gets too crowded. There are some nice beach shops and cafes right outside, and a very nice bar on the end of a small man-made peninsular about 10 minutes walk turning right along the prom; which is also near a good shopping centre. Caleta itself is a typically British tourist resort, with plenty of shops and bars. If anything, we found it a little too British. If you want a more traditional feel, resorts such as Corralejo and Morro Jable are better.

Cleanliness and Upkeep 4/5
The hotel has a very modern design which adds an air of sophistication to the place. All the public areas were kept impeccably clean. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day. Unlike some nitpickers I read on this website, we did not check lampshades and areas under the bed for dust. We didn't think it necessary! The only major problem we found was an small infestation of ants in the kitchen sink. As we were all inclusive, this was not an issue for us, but I feel it must be mentioned.

Rooms 4.5/5
All fitted out with modern amenities, such as a telephone, two flat screen TVs with some English channels, safe (which you have to pay for - we didn't), fridge, cooking equipment, bath and shower unit, sitting area, large balcony (we had a lovely sea view) and a sofa bed. The beds seemed a little hard. I was on the sofa bed, which was ok; not the best bed in the world but got a good nights sleep.

Facilities 4/5
The complex includes 2 outdoor pools, one children's pool, kids club, pool bar and restaurant, reception bar, TV room, games room and a spa. We did use the spa for hydrotherapy on a couple of occasions. The facilities there include a steam room, sauna, turkish bath, hydrotherapy pools and aromatherapy showers (although the sauna and Turkish bath were out of service when we visited). It was very relaxing, but also rather overpriced at 14 euros for a 2 hour session. I have stayed at a Spanish hotel previously, whose spa had better facilities, and they only charged 5 euros for entry. There is always evening entertainment on offer in the reception bar, although we never stayed as it looked rather cheesy and not particularly our cup of tea!

DO NOT USE THE EXCURSION OR MASSAGE SERVICES AT THE HOTEL. Both are horrendously overpriced, and we got an hour massage in town for half the price of the hotel. We also saved around a third on the price of trips by booking directly with Lastminute travel, whose office is located in town (they offer the same excursions as the hotel).

Food 2.5/5
This was where the hotel fell a bit short. The selection is rather limited; offering a rotation of around 6-8 hot food choices (one always being chips, and at least 2-3 veg). Half the buffet is dedicated to salad, and only around 3 of the dishes were changed daily on about a 3 day rotation, which meant you had to eat the same things often. The hotel offers packed lunches to all inclusive guests if they are out, but these were very poor; consisting of low quality, stodgy cheese and ham sandwiches, a pack of dry biscuits, a yoghurt, fruit, fruit juice and bottle of water. We didn't bother after that, deciding instead to pay for meals out (even making a break for McDonalds one evening!). There are a selection of grilled meats offered for lunch and dinner, and a desert selection of ice cream, fruit and cake There were also a couple of issues with some undercooked pork and off-smelling scrambled egg. The staff, instead of apologising, simply told us to get another portion, which we thought rather rude. Breakfast was nice however, with fresh pancakes and even champagne on offer (I had a glass every morning!), and we appreciated those nice little touches. Some of the food was good though, like the stewed goat and rabbit (nicer than it sounds!) and freshly battered fish fingers. They even got a birthday cake for our friend, which we very much appreciated.

Service 3.5/5
The reception staff are friendly, approachable and efficient, as are the bar staff (although we did get barked at once for asking for the water machine to be refilled!). The seating system in the main restaurant needs revising. Generally, you should wait for the waitresses to seat you, but they were often absent from the front of house. When we gave up and opted to chose one of the many free tables ourselves, we were often abruptly moved to another table for no reason. If they are going to stick with the allocated seating system, a staff member needs to be positioned at the restaurant entrance at all times.

All Inclusive Experience 4.5/5
A good selection of local beer (Tropical), wine, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks is available most of the day from the bars and restaurant, and you are allowed to take these upstairs. The only issue we had was the fact bottled water was not included. This meant, to save needless expense, we had to frequently run downstairs to the water machine and fill up several plastic glasses at a time, or flout the rule of filling up your own bottles (which we were often forced to do!). Overall we were very satisfied with the drinks on offer, and snacks were available at the pool bar at certain times.

Overall we are satisfied with our stay, and had a great time, which is at the end of the day what it is all about! The food needs some major improvement, however.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view is worth it; ask if your room has got one (they gave us one free of charge...

Stayed in June 2014, were given a large suite with separate lounge and kitchen so we were able to keep our water and chocolate brought from the local supermarkets cold. We had a room with both a sea and pool view with a spacious terrace. We were all inclusive and for us there was plenty choice with fresh fish and meat griddled in front of you both lunch and dinner times. The restaurant was usually pretty full but we didn't really have to wait long for a table and the staff were very friendly. We didn't use the spa as i felt the daily charge for what was there was a bit expensive but we made good use of the salt water pool which was large and didn't get over crowded despite not being too cold. Its a quiet resort, but we did venture to the local bars a couple of evenings to soak up the world cup atmosphere which was a welcome change to the 'Entertainment' in the hotel. For the price we paid it was well worth it and i would recommend the hotel but i can't help feeling a little more investment would turn this into a really good class hotel but then of course the price would go up. We hired a car for the day and toured the south of the island and the hotel provided us a packed lunch! there was also a good local market to get gifts from. if a relaxing holiday is what you want with sun shine and a gentle breeze then maybe its for you. Pack some high factor sun cream or buy the locally produced aloe vera cream which worked well.

We have just got back from a week at the Geranios suites & spa, upon arrival we were very happy with the hotel and its a fantastic location right on the beach...Im going to list all the positives first ....We initially booked as it was very reasonably priced and we had seen good reviews about the food which is a big factor for us as my husband is a body-builder and needs to eat lots the selection at every meal was good and their was always something to eat although the puddings were very repetitive and we didn't feel like any after day 4 as they were the same every day which was a shame what was great was the fridges of bottles of soft drinks that you could help yourself to at lunch and dinner ...The pool bar also offered burgers or hot dogs or ham and cheese selection to make a sandwich throughout the day...

we paid £50 extra to get our room upgraded to a junior suite and we are so pleased we did our room was massive with a huge outside terrace with table and chairs and two sun loungers so when the sun went down round the pool we could sunbathe for another few hours ...the cleaner came in everyday and the room was spotless...

Bad points and very disappointing...
This is a massive hotel that had no cash machine and no money exchanging facilities which was just pathetic so you have to walk all the way into the town if you need any money granted the walk is only 5-10 mins but still it just seemed so stupid to have nothing on site...

The pool area was absolutely filthy it was disgusting we sat in the same place each day and we put all of our empty cups in the bin but the floor jut got dirtier and dirtier it was gross twice we had to ask someone to pour water over it and brush it over which really didn't do much and the sun loungers were absolutely filthy all they needed was a really good clean but the thought of how many people much have been putting their dirty feet on them was just to much for me and in a hotel that was so clean the pool area has really let them down needed a thoroughly good bleaching and we also pointed out that 2 of the loungers were broken to the pool man he never moved them and they remained their the whole week leading to quite a few people almost having an accident....And the cushions on the seats around the pool bar were so dirty and mouldy I was quite shocked it takes nothing to dry clean them or replace .....Tiles were constantly coming loose in the pool and I cut my toes twice their were so many two little Spanish boys were diving to the bottom and collecting them and in one afternoon filled 2 cups up..

they charged us 10 euro each deposit for towels for the pool which I can understand it was refunded when we handed them back in but the towels were brown and very old I would take my own if I went again and the fact you had to go to reception everyday to change them and couldn't do it at the pool if your towel got wet you had to go down in the lift to reception which meant getting fully dressed ......

we never went to the hotel bar at night as the queue for drinks was massive every single time and it was very crowded so we went out their are some lovely cafe,s outside or walked into the town....

The lift broke down three times during the week so if you cant manage stairs you had to ask to go up in the service lift ...

I wondered if the hotel gets a lot of English visitors as the restaurant and bar staff did not speak or understand a lot of English so even asking for a cup of ice took me asking three people which was very frustrating.....
And the restaurant does not allow you take food out which if fine but when our holiday companions asked to take some fruit out as one is diabetic and wanted the fruit incase their insulin was not correct and to keep it on them in case they required it they were very rudely shouted at and told to put the fruit back immediately even though we were trying to explain why they needed it the waitress just couldn't understand us and it took quite a few people before someone finally understood why we needed it ......we went to the supermarket the next day as it was to much hassle explaining.....

Overall the hotel was very nice it just felt like it had become a little run down in places and im sure with a little bit of sprucing up it could be brought back to a very lovely environment to enjoy a holiday .....

Room Tip: ask for a junior suite on the second floor pool facing so you get the sun much longer
