Me and my boyfriend (both aged 18) went on our first holiday here at the end of June 2013. We arrived very open minded, as we didn't expect much for such a cheap price. However, it was the most fantastic week in the sun. We spent a lot of time finding the right place, and despite some negative reviews we gave it a shot and I couldn't be more happy that we did! The hotel itself was very clean, but basic. The main issue I had was with the lifts though - hate them usually but being on the 5th floor I had little choice! They're very small and often sound a bit dodgy but they do the job. Room was a bit small but you don't spend much time in there anyway and it has everything you need - except a hairdryer!

The food was again basic, but it was varied each day and there was always something for everything. They do themed nights like mexican and spanish, but they always provide the standard pastas, chips, salads etc for both lunch and tea. Breakfast was just as good, lots of variety both cooked and continental buffet style.

The staff and Thomas Cook rep (Danielle) were absolutely briliant, evening entertainment ideal for kids and drunk adults who want to make a fool out of themselves, but otherwise quite poor. However the team is made up of such lovely people who we got along with very well and made us feel welcome from the start.

The location is fantastic for a week trip, but any more than that and the resort may feel a bit repetitive as it isn't huge. There's plenty of shops, mini markets and restaurants/bars just a 5 minute walk away with a lovely view of the harbour too. There's also a range of activities to do which can be arranged by the reps. We did the glass bottom boat trip which was a lovely day out and ever so pretty with clear waters and a stop at a fantastic cove. Recommend getting there early though as everyone pinches the top seats! We also went to the dancing horse show which was FANTASTIC. I am a horse lover, however my boyfriend isn't and even he thought it was just amazing. Highly recommend it. Pool area is small, however it's never overcrowded but be sure to get up early for a sunbed - if not there's a beach next door!

Overall we had a fantastic holiday which was ideal for a first time alone, and we would happily return again as it's a brilliant cheap get away!

2nd time at this hotel and i have to say never do I normally go to a place twice, my son enjoyed it so much he asked if we could go back...evening entertainment is shocking for adults and I have to say the entertainment staff where not as good as last year.. great if you have kids as his place is so safe..no one can complain about the food as their is something for everyone.. rooms are clean but basic.. buts its a 3* if you want something more up market then go to the paradise club at the other end of the harbor.. all in all I can recommend for young family's,

We travelled in August 2013 looking for some last minute all inclusive sun with everything convenient for us, ready to relax for a week.

This is exactly what we got and so we can have no complaints. Yes, as other reviews state the hotel is a little dated but it offers everything a 3* all inclusive should; efficient friendly staff, clean rooms and a pleasant pool area. If you fancied a dip in the sea then the hotel is located yards from a popular beach and bay.

The only let down for us was the food, especially towards the end of the week. I went with an open mind not to be pedantic with 'all you can eat' buffet food , but it was just so plain and bland that we did not enjoy meal times. It is just cheap food for mass catering which isn't a surprise really but I think it could have been made a little more appetising. Making the drinks help yourself could possibly be an improvement as the queues for them got a bit long during peak times.

Overall we enjoyed a week of relaxation in a pleasant location and got a good nights sleep in comfortable rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor sea view before arriving

Firstly, we have never stayed all-inclusive before so cannot really give an opinion wether this hotel is worthy of 3 star status. However, I think it would be totally unfair to suggest it was worth a 2 or less. Before booking this holiday I read loads of reviews on here and made a decision based on my conclusions. Admittedly not pretty from the outside but you can make that out from the picture at the top of the page. Inside it is dated and somewhat tired but very clean ( I read that in about 20 odd previous reviews so knew what to expect to a degree). The food received mixed but mainly decent reviews so went with the majority and found it to be true with a decent selection, chips are there every day but you ain`t got to choose them, there were plenty of alternatives. Staff very friendly and courteous ( except one grumpy barmaid ). Entertainment team are very hard working. They tried to interest you in the daytime activities but were not intrusive in the slightest. The oft mentioned Harry and Keshia carried the rest of the team in the nightime activities which wasn`t all to my taste but lots of people seemed to enjoy it. The hotel is in an excellent location. Finally the hotel is now closing for refurbishment so should be somewhat different next season.

After a mix up from our operator and a tour of the island on our transfer we finally arrived at the resort. Reception were helpful and friendly and we made our to the room. The room was basic but comfortable. We were on the first floor above the entertainment which wasn't ideal as we could hear everything. The walls were thin and you could hear conversations next door. The food was very nice, changed day to day although the desserts were always the same. We had two theme nights which was Mexican and Spanish which made for a nice change. Around the pool towels appeared at 7am and the people often wouldn't appear until later in the afternoon. The pool was on the small size and quite cold. Despite signs saying not too people took their inflatables in the pool. The beach at the bottom was busy and expensive at €18 for two beds and umbrella. The entertainment was catered for the children and went on until quite late each night. We didn't go to any of the shows instead choosing to go to the marina. From what we saw the show filled up quite quick with the elderly and little children running about.
I understand this hotel was aimed at families with children but it got a bit too much with several careless parents letting their children run around freely during meal times.
Having previously booked an adult only hotel in menorca I will definitely prefer returning there instead.

Had high hopes of the Calan Bosch going by previous reports, but on arrival were very disappointed. Very dated looking hotel compared to hotels around and also dated inside.
Room average, but very clean, Very limited wardrobe hanging space. We don't take a lot of clothes and we were struggling.

The food was very good, but limited in variety, virtually chips with everything. Also the desserts were exactly the same every evening.

The entertainment staff were excellent during the day, with plenty of things going on, but unfortunately the same entertainment staff were also the entertainment on an evening, and although they did their best and most people seemed to enjoy it, but it is really not up to standard for adults unless you like games etc., which a lot of people don't.

Also in the bar on an evening the drinks were served in cheap and nasty vending machine cups. I can understand this by the pool during the day, but on an evening I think a proper glasses in a bar is only what should be expected - even if the hotel is only a 3*.

Overall, the hotel is in a good position and the staff are very helpful, but unfortunately we won't be going back to this hotel.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the pool and lovely sandy bay is a must.
