We are staying here at the moment.
This is our 4th year back to this resort, and having stayed at two other hotels, this is by far our favourite.
The staff are polite, efficient and nothing is too much trouble.
Rooms are spotless and cleaned to a good standard every day.
Food is of good quality and in plentiful supply.
Bar prices are comparable if not cheaper than some of the bars in the marina.
Great place for adults to chill, relax and have a good break.
Music played around the pool in the day, but you can still have a conversation.
One very minor gripe, reception should tell you how to get into your rooms, as they are patio doors, you put your key card against the handle, wait for the light to flash green, then turn the handle. So many people including us couldn’t work this out and had to ask. One for reception.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner can all be taken overlooking the marina watching the sunset, amazing.
Will definitely recommend and return.

We stayed for 2 weeks from 5-19th June, and can honestly say this is a beautiful hotel.

1. The staff are brilliant - from initial check-in at reception, where Joana, Jessica and Marina were particularly helpful, but all reception staff were good. Joana was fantastic. The restaurant is run efficiently with Jordi heading up the team, who were all efficient, friendly and hard working. The housekeeping team were lovely too, and our housekeeper was always happy and smiling, and kept our room immaculately clean. The pool bar staff were also friendly, efficient and helpful, especially with assisting with the sunbed reservation system. In fact the staff across the entire hotel always had a smile and a greeting for us.

2. The breakfasts are absolutely brilliant, with healthy eating options, as well as full english breakfast. There is a huge range and choice for everyone. We particularly liked the large range of freshly squeezed fruit juice, especially the watermelon! However the evening meal, although ok, has a great range of starters, desserts and cheese board selections, the main courses did not seem to always compliment each other, and you couldn’t put a complete main meal together. But they obviously recognise this minor shortcoming, and guests are able to do a ‘dine around’ option 4 times a week at 3 nearby restaurants on the marina. You are offered a set menu for the Lago Resort guests, but you can choose from their main menus for a small supplement. We opted to do this as we only paid an additional €7 for the two of us to have grilled sole at the Tropicana Restaurant.

3. The suites which we had were superb, with a lounge/dining room, kitchenette comprising full size fridge, microwave, utensils, and tea/coffee making facilities. The teas and coffees were replenished every day. The bathroom was fabulous with a huge walk-in shower, which had a big rainfall head, plus a hand-held attachment. Toiletries were provided - toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, soap, vanity kit for nails and tissues. These were replaced daily as well. There was a fabulous huge ceiling fan in the bedroom which could not be heard, and was a most welcome addition to the air conditioning. The only negative about the suite was that there were no English channels whatsoever on the TV - we only wanted to be able to see the BBC news sometimes. Also we had to go out onto the terrace to get the WiFi signal. Reception told us they are looking into putting boosters in, which are needed. The towels are changed often, and you put a card on the bed to request clean bed linen.
We heard from other guests that the bedrooms called marina chic, are a bit odd, with the bathroom facilities in the actual bedroom! Also no proper wardrobe, just a rail, and no drawers to put anything away. We had no drawer space in the suite, but there was plenty of shelf space in the wardrobe. Whatever you do - DO NOT stay in rooms number 45 or 46. We’d recommend rooms 1 - 36. We were put in room 45 initially and it is located right next to the service area, and we were woken at half past midnight by bin lorries emptying the hotel bins. It was so noisy and took ages. Also it’s right near the kitchen and we were woken at dawn by the food mixers and loud kitchen noise. We asked first thing in the morning if we could change rooms and they moved us with no hesitation to room 17, which was a huge improvement and very quiet. The beds are supremely comfortable and we slept so well.

4. The pool area is wonderful and you are provided with pool towels, which you can get changed during your stay. They serve lovely food during the day, and there is a shaded outdoor restaurant. It’s not cheap, but it’s good. The drinks are fairly pricey too. There is lovely relaxing music played, which was a refreshing change from some of the loud, ear-splitting stuff we’ve had foisted on us at other hotels. There is never a problem getting a sunbed either - none of this getting up at the crack of dawn to get your towels out! There are also Balinese sunbeds and circular 6 foot diameter sunbeds, which can be reserved 24 hours ahead, completely free of charge, with an online reservation system, which is brilliant. We opted to use these, as ordinary sunbeds always give us backache. The pool is lovely and peaceful as there aren’t hoardes of people in it. All in all it’s a peaceful retreat during the day.

5. If you are a beach lover this resort is not for you, as it’s a tiny beach, covered in umbrellas and sunbeds, and also is covered in plant detritus, which isn’t very appealing.
If you are staying on a b&b basis there is a huge choice of restaurants around the marina. It is a purpose-built resort so has no charm or character if that’s what you look for on a foreign holiday. The shopping in the resort is brilliant from the usual tourist stuff to posh shops. However, there is an excellent, cheap and easy to use, bus service into the old capital of Ciutadella. Definitely worth a visit, as there are lovely old buildings and very nice shops and restaurants. It takes about half an hour on the bus, and they run approximately every half an hour.

6. We found a lovely bar just across the pedestrian bridge to the marina, called Restaurant Leli’s. We went there for drinks every evening, which were much cheaper than in the hotel, and we received a warm welcome from Leli, the owner, and his helper, the lovely Fernando. We had lunch there a few times and the food was fantastic. We’d definitely eat there in the evening if we’d been on b&b.

7. Overall, we had a fantastic, relaxing holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel. It is beautifully appointed and is very eco minded. It is spotlessly clean and well kept everywhere. The staff are brilliant. The only reason we’ve given a 4 star rating is because of the evening meal, but this really isn’t a deal-breaker at the end of the day.

The trip advisor website wouldn’t let me put the star rating for service, rooms and location, but we’d rate all at 5 stars.

Room Tip: Recommend rooms 1 - 36

Stayed here for a week with my sister and we had one of the bungalows. Definitely worth it especially if you enjoy a quiet time around the pool as sometimes it was only us! A bit of a trek for breakfast and dinner but I’ve walked further when I’ve stayed in large resorts in the Caribbean. Food was good and well and a bonus that you could use some of the restaurants on the harbour side. The Brazilian was my favourite. Rooms were well equipped with outside sofas and were clean with a daily maid service. The resort was spotless. I would definitely recommend and would go back in a heartbeat

Just returned from 9 nights here. We stayed in a Harbour View Cool Suite and the room exceeded our expectations by far. A huge comfy bed , great bathroom facilities and a living room area. The view from our balcony over the marina was just perfect. What made our stay extra special was the excellent staff. Without exception they were polite, friendly and helpful. A special mention must go to Javi who manned the information desk. He arranged car hire for us and helped plan our itinerary to make the most of our days. He was extremely knowledgeable about the whole island and nothing was too much trouble for him. The breakfasts were great with loads of choice, even including cava! There was always something to choose from the buffet style dinner. There are plenty of sun beds around the pool, although some of these have to be booked the day before. Although the hotel was full it never felt crowded and the atmosphere there was so relaxing. The beach club bar serves food and drinks and again the staff there are brilliant. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing luxurious break.

Lovely hotel. Clean and well kept. We were on the half board which had an extremely good breakfast and buffet dinner with plenty of choice. Also the option to dine out at other named restaurants in the harbour area included. Great pool area. Really relaxing holiday!
