Stayed at the Marinda Gardens for 7 nights last week of July. Would say that this was good timing as by the end of the week schools finished for summer and started to get busier. Had read all previous reviews on cold swimming pools with wet water and salty sea's and hot sun!!!! What do people expect from a 3 star holiday?? We found it quite adequate, yes the rooms are dated but they were only used for showering and sleeping in, and this is Spain not England. We emailed the hotel before hand requesting a 1st floor room with balcony, more private than the ground floor rooms. We could not fault the food and drink package, this was the 1st time that we had been all inclusive and were very impressed. They had a large range of cooked and continental items for breakfast, a different selection of meats and fish at each lunch and evening meal. One night having a themed meal ie Chinese/Mexican , Fresh fish and seafood were beautiful and the cakes - - oh the cakes!!! You help yourself to beer, wine, and soft drinks in the restaurant, the wine being chilled in here compared to the entertainment bar where it comes out warm. Pool area was very good, although on our departure morning we were provided continental breakfast from 4am and saw people putting towels on the sunbeds from 6am!! Sad!! The Aqua Rock water park is next door and comes in with the AI price which is well worth it, very nice place but you do have to get a 2nd wrist band from the Marinda reception or the grumpy women at the entrance will send you back to get one. Quite expensive to get in if self catering as is all food and drink etc in the hotel. The Marina is very pretty and is surrounded by bars, restaurants and people renting boats out. Lots of fish to feed here, this leads to the beach which is also very nice, they have a life guard, does get quite busy here. There is a land train that leaves from the marina and takes you around the whole of Cala n Bosch again quite expensive but nice relaxing trip. There are lots of Gecco's around and night times can produce a range of flying and crawling insects but nothing dangerous. We would recommend this hotel for families with young children as they have a non stop entertainment team working around the clock. One day we were at the entertainment area around 6pm and could hear shouting and smell chocolate, this was the kids club on a march around the grounds army style but all covered head to toe in chocolate ! Glad ours are teenagers! Day time activities range from rugby to water polo, the only thing I would say is that they assemble a men's team to play water polo which obviously gets a little rough but they also assemble a kids game at the same time in the shallow end but the rough behaviour and competitiveness rubs of on the kids as they will copy the ' Grown Up's ' We saw this a couple of times with children having to be told to calm down ( Not their fault!! ) Internet is available as are pool tables and a few games for the kids. They have an on site shop which is pleasant but a little overpriced , there is a supermarket at the marina along with chemist, car hire and probably the largest souvenir shop I have ever seen. All in all we would say that this hotel was very nice as was the area, would definitely go all inclusive though. Restaurants are having to put up their prices as the hotels are taking the trade via all inclusive deals. I cannot finish this review without mentioning the bar and restaurant staff. These guys work around the clock rotating jobs as they go, one minute they will be serving you a drink from the pool bar and the next minute they are clearing your table in the restaurant, we left some tips in their boxes for them as they certainly deserved them.

Room Tip: Email ahead to ask for a 1st floor apartment

We returned last week from a 2 week break and the whole family had a great time! Lots of activities for adults and kids/teens. Lost my husband for 2 weeks as he was so involved in everything and also took part in one of the entertainment teams shows which was a great laugh! Entertainment team were excellent and worked really hard. Dani did a great job with the teens and didn't mind the numerous times he was thrown in the pool! Lysanne and Britt were great with all of the adults activities and were so friendly and cheerful that it rubbed off on the guests making it a friendly place to stay. Lorena worked wonders on the sets for the nighttime shows with the Lion King set really standing out - it took her hours but really paid off!
The hotel itself could do with a bit of an upgrade as the rooms were really dated, however, once you get past the initial disappointment of this its fine - they are really clean and we had an upper floor so had a big balcony that was pretty private. The food was good and there was plenty to choose from - as with all all inclusive buffets you do get a bit fed up come the end of the two weeks as it does get a bit repetitive.
All in all a great holiday and would definitely return.

Room Tip: choose a room on the upper floor as you get a proper balcony

We have just got back from a week stay at this hotel 2 adults and 2 children, and it was a excellent holiday. The staff work really hard and i can't fault them. The pools were great and warm, all areas kept clean. The food was great, show cooking too, lots of variety and fresh food and drinks. Free access to the water park, which is right next door, had an excellent time there.
Excellent entertainment for kids and adults, they work really hard.
Near to the beach and shops. Yes the rooms need updating, but i've stayed in worse and we only slept in the room. We had a garden terrace, which is worth having as you have a little garden and patio, with two sunbeds and two chairs and tables.
I would recommend this to anyone.

we have just returned today from a weeks stay at the marinda gardens and after reading the reviews on here I was quite nervous about what we might find but don't read the bad reviews!! we travelled with a 6yr old and a 3 yr old who both sobbed on leaving the hotel. If you book with Thomas cook the kids club is fantastic, best way to get the kids out of the midday sun. They club reps made each child feel special and would make sure they spoke to them even out of club times. The hotel itself has a kids club which too was very good but due to the language difference our children chose the thomas cook club each time. The entertainment from the animation team was fantastic we had dukebox mayhem, the lion king, we will rock you, Cinderella and dream time, the kids were mesmerised.
The hotel rooms themselves are basic but surely you will be only sleeping in them, there is plenty of room and bathrooms were ok. The food at meal times was varied and having 2 picky eaters we managed easily. The bar although sometimes was busy you were quickly served and paying guests were treated exactly the same.
The pool area is great, baby pool, main pool and then a deep pool which most kids used for diving and jumping into. The water park was ok it passed a few hours but not worth it if u don't get free access.
Overall we are looking to book for next year

Room Tip: get 1st floor room

This is the best hotel I’ve ever been to. Best food, best people, best place and best rooms. All inclusive - great ! big choice! Soft drinks (Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite,..) and alcohol too. I wouldn’t say it’s a 3-star hotel, some 4-star hotels were much worse. I would go there again!

Room Tip: some have "balcony" to streets between houses. not a good idea.

Just returned (today) from a week's stay at this hotel. We loved the place and so did our two girls (7 & 10). The rooms are pleasant and ours felt like it had been recently referbished. The appartments are three star and more than adequate. Lovely shower. Food lovely and the fish is wonderful. Lots of food choices every day. Entertainment ticked the box for our girls and the on site entertainment team made really good efforts with their shows. We went all inclusive and felt this was the wisest option in hindsight. There is a great supermarket on site. Minor gripe - you have to pay 17Euros to rent the safe in the room (per week!). Rooms clean and tidy and cleaning staff great. Air con in the rooms was a life saver. Busy round the pool but this added to the atmosphere.

We normally go for 4/5 star places however if you go with a three star venue in mind and pay three star money you'll love this place.

2 families on the go, were slightly worried of tales of room woe, but all good and fun was had, the rooms were not so bad! The pool, the food, the staff were great, we all had a brilliant break! The entertainment team worked so hard, and our smiles and laughs were their reward!
