Assistance at Manchester Ringway Airport is abysmal, especially for departures. Staff are rude, obnoxious, arrogant and make you wish you had stayed at home. Check-in staff are just as bad.
James Martin's In-flight meals are minimalist and poor value for money!
Get your Duty-free on the return flight, much cheaper than the airport's.
The cost of living in Spain has gone through the roof; Loaf of Bread 3 Euro their's and our's. Their Beer is cheaper but not much and B&H Ciggies 47.50 Euros at their Tabacs.
It is expensive to eat out so, go Half-board if you can and stay near the Roc Lago for best places to eat, the other side of the marina, the prices are steep.
The Spar Supermarket does the best prices for drinking water, has a selective array of goods. There is a larger supermarket further down but just as pricey, their drinking water is more expensive.
The Toro Negro and Les Palasides are the most expensive to eat at 10 Euro for a Prawn Cocktail. Med Bar - good prices/food, excellent service, and friendly waiters. Piccola - good prices, average food and poor service. Mr. Juane - good prices/food, slow service and excellent waiters. La Fontana - high prices, average food, good service but had swarf in my meal off the sword, which spoilt the evening. The Madarin/Chinese next door - good prices/food, excellent service and very friendly waiting staff.
There is a 'noddy' train that does a route in and around the resort. From 10 am to 1 pm and then 6 pm to ? The operator is very rude and a prat.
You can get buses the other side of the shopping centre that run every hour until 7 pm. Hire a car if that's your thing. We ride motorcycles/scooters. Hire theirs if you dare, 20 Euro a day. They wouldn't pass an MOT here even though, our travel insurance was specialist medical and covered us to ride; We hastily declined after closer inspection of the bikes.
The Menorcan welcome is a great one, all the time we were treated with respect and helped when needed. Nothing was too much. The Roc Lago Park apartments are a mix of first floor and ground floor accommodation, suitably kitted out for self-catering and offer excellent private balconies for sunbathing in the day and having a meal in the evening. We had apartment 3046, no adaptions, a first floor affair, struggled with my crutches and assistance. Around the complex are steep ramps with no handrails, swimming pool is accessible and clean. Staff were polite. Wifi 30 Euros extra. Use Skype for your calls home free!

We were given a room across the road (on the dark side) last block from the road, so 10 minute walk to reception. A good sized room with nice gardens surrounding a patio area. Just a pity the room was not looked after like the well kept gardens. On arrival the room was dirty, floors had not been cleaned and no brush or mop to clean them, cutlery dirty, toaster and hairdryer did not work, more importantly doors would not lock. All reported to reception and within one hour door was fixed, but unable to even get a broom to sweep the dirty floor. Next day water heater stopped working so no hot water, reported 3 times to reception in 48 hours but no luck on 4th visit to reception manager was there receptionist said it was the first time i had reported it, I became annoyed at her lies and said so, manager was great, offerd to change our room, water heater was fixed straight away, and all other problems sorted. We were happy with the room we had once I had cleaned it and everything worked. Pity the manager was not there earlier it would have saved a lot of frustration caused by trying to deal with rude unhelpful reception staff.
The holiday was not 5* price so we did not expect too much but a clean room and hot water should be a standard requirement that you should not have to fight for.
We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment, drinks at the bar were very expensive so only went once, €9.80 for 2 gjn and tonic. Happy hour was advertised in hotel but was stopped on our second day much to the annoyance of lots of other guests. Entertainment only on 2 nights whilst we were there but it was getting near end of the season.
A great location near the marina with lots of place to eat at very reasonable prices. Beaches nearby are very good.
Overall a good holiday but could have been great with not a lot of effort from the hotel staff. It seems to be a hotel of two halves with different standards either side of the road.

Having seen a few reviews from the site before I left. I thought I would give the hotel the benefit of the doubt. Arrived on an early flight in and got to the hotel around 11am. The reception was quick and got us to our apparent easily.

The apparent was dated but ok (I only needed a bed and a shower). It had not ants as a lot of people have said on hear. The housekeeper was pleasant and did here job well.

The pool area was ok with lots of sun loungers and umbrellas, but due to the hard plastic construction of the loungers they where uncomfortable. The pool was small and no lifeguard was available.

The hotel was situated close proximity to the lovely beach around a 5 minute walk, golden sand and crystal waters. The sun loungers where nicely priced at around 15€.

We went half board the food was nothing special. Breakfast was usual stuff sausages, bacon, eggs, beans, cheese, etc etc. evening meal was bland and boring and within 15 minutes of the meal starting food was sparse and needed topping,up which never came quick.

The drinks at evening meal all had to be paid for regardless of your board (even water). This I found strange and complained only to be told that this was the only hotel that did this.

The central location was good as we had a lot of restaurants and bars on our door step and the noise at night was acceptable.

Recommend the lovely beech in Cala Blanca.

Room Tip: Go for a balcony overlooking the marina.

My boyfriend and I just returned from a great week in Cala'n Bosch. We were both a bit worried after reading the reviews on here but decided to take a chance, and I'm so glad we didn't listen!

We checked in very late a night and the nice lady on reception gave us some free bottles of water as the supermarket was closed. Our superior room was pleasant and a bit basic but had all you need. We had our own roof terrace and even though it was facing the main road it was fine.

So to clear up some of the comments left on here, we had no ant problems and we could always get a sun lounger! The pool area is small but has a nice bar which over looks the marina and everything was clean thanks to the friendly housekeeping but the hotel is a little tired around the edges.

We went self catering which worked out well as there are plenty of supermarkets and some great restaurants on the marina. Cala'n Bosch is lovely and the beaches have crystal clear water that you can see the fish. Be warned that this is a sleepy resort after 11pm in September but is great for a relaxing stay and luckily the weather was 28c every day!

There is a handy bus that takes you to the historic town of Citudella which is well worth a visit and we also recommend the 4 hour boat trip that shows you some spectacular beaches.

I can't comment on the restaurant as we didn't eat there and the only thing that lets the hotel down is some of the reception staff who gave a very frosty check out.

We had a great week and Menorca is stunning compared to the Brits Abroad holidays you expect in Majorca!

We travelled as a couple In our 30s. We travelled here from the 18th to 25th sept. When we got to the hotel we were given a standard room over the other side of the main road. Was quiete worried after reading other reviews but we were given room 2002 and a map of where it were. The room it self was clean and basic. It needs a refurb as a bit outdated but it was clean and did it purpose of sleeping and showering. The shower it self was not as good as I thought as it took about 20 mins for the hot water to finally come out but it did the job. The balcony / cutlery etc were clean. We got the sun in the morning which was nice when we came back from the pool or beach as the sun was not directly on the balcony.
We stayed half board. The breakfast was the usual fry ups / cereals / fruits / crossiants / tea coffee and orange juice and was nice. The evening meal was ok. Only a choice of 3 meats and one vegetarian which was usually pasta. Always chips which was repetitive. I would have preferred roast or mash potatoes. There was a salad bar and deserts were jelly or ice cream.
The staff at the reception and hotel were all nice and friendly.
We tried out both pools and they were clean and plenty of beds. The sun beds were a bit uncomfy and agree with another post a LILO would do the trick. We preferred the main pool as more life round it and the little pool seemed to be more in the shade from the trees.
The resort it self is really lovely and the beach is nice and the water is clear. I would come back to the resort again but with a view to stay at different hotel as I like to try different hotels but I wouldn't say no to staying at the same apartments again. Overall a good holiday and good time had. I would recommend it for all ages.

The hotel is with very good location, 300 meters to the beach. This beach is very nice and very convinient even for kids. I was in 2 room apartment for 4 people and everything was OK with godd equipment in the kitchen, only the hob is very old, but several days you can survive. Hotel is sourrounding by restaurants with very good meal, especially fresh fish and seafood and the price is quite OK. I'd come back to this hotel

Room Tip: Choose superior room, price difference is worth

The main appeal of the apartments is the location, right on the marina. I did ask if we could have an apartment overlooking the marina but there wasn't one available but that did consider my either request which meant we had a two bed apartment on the main site but near the road so it was a short walk to our hire car which made life much easier for my other half and at no extra cost. We had a visit from the lovely cleaning ladies every day with clean towels and bedding changed every day. We did have a few ants but the cleaner left a can of spray and the ants soon disappeared. The only other problem was a leaky air conditioning unit, reported to reception when we went out for dinner, fixed when we got back at 11pm.
Cannot comment the on site restaurant as we went out to the marina every night where there is plenty of choice such as Las Tapas, piccolos and not forgetting Tom's Bar.
All in all location great, apartment clean and plenty of space (we only used the kitchen to make coffee).
