We have just returned from a relaxing 10 days spent at the Roc Lago Park, the complex was very clean and in a very good area, we had a two bedroom apartment on self catering basis over looking the marina and the view was spectacular. The apartments were clean and basis but they had every thing you needed for self catering and I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the marina

I went for a week scuba diving and so only wanted basic accommodation. Hotel is located on the marina and above a few bars and restaurants. I went the first week in May, which is effectively the first week of the season, and only half the shops/bars/restaurants were open. On the plus side it was very quiet! when everything is open there shouldn't be a problem finding somewhere to eat/drink. All staff were very polite and helped where they could. All one bedroom apartments are on the first floor, meaning there are only 2 bedroom apartments on the ground floor, so if you have any walking difficulties then you will have to pay a supplement to stay on the ground floor. this isn't all that clear from their website. You can also buy drinks vouchers, silver for 15 euros and Gold for 38 euros. Silver gets 10 drinks (beer, wine, coke, coffee, etc.) and gold gets 20 drinks. These can only be used at the bar though and not in the restaurant where you will have to buy drinks for the table. There are several supermarkets just a minutes walk from the hotel and as all the rooms have a fridge, basic 2 ring cooker and a microwave it is just as easy to stock up with drinks and snacks in the apartment. the bus stop is next to the shopping complex and again less than a minutes walk away and the bus fares are quite cheap to most other resorts/areas at around 1.60 euros.

Room Tip: Room 3128 is a single bed apartment overlooking the marina. It wasn't for me, but I guess it co...

The staff, I found, we're virtually unseen. My family and I booked in at the reception from a quiet woman and had our rooms cleaned daily by a maid (who we never saw) However, this was good to me as I wanted to go on holiday for the beaches, not staying in a hotel. In a great place to visit the beach, pretty much a 50 second walk away from a marina with a row of lovely restaurants and a couple stands you can get henna tattoos from or jewellery. I recommend the restaurant called the pizzeria as I am yet to find a pizza as delicious as the ones made there. Walk along the marina for a while, and you will come across 2 places where you may purchase a trip in a glass bottomed boat. Both are wonderful, as is the restaurant next to it. There were 3 beaches I visited in total. The first one was the best, selling gorgeous ice creams, stunning sea and beautiful white sand. The 2nd was further away and a little disappointing and the 3rd was extremely busy and not nearly as good as the first. I cannot recall the name of the 1st beach, but from above it looks curved and abit like a clam. It also has a small cliff next to it, great for cliff diving!! Small plastic boats with slides on are available for rent.
The apartment I stayed in was far away from the pool and overall very clean. It did get a bit chilly in the night time and we suffered a minor ant infestation after leaving our patio door ajar accidentally. Both bedrooms were of average size and appearance, the TV does not offer many channels in English unfortunately. Wifi must be payed for. Shops in close proximity. Nice pool. Great for small kids and families, but this is not the kind of hotel that would be nice to stay in all day. Come back at night to sleep but it's best to spend as much time as possible outside. Ask for superior. My family did not have dinner at the hotel as we proffered to eat at restaurant outside. There is an alley near the beach with an amazing pub, it has a soft area for toddlers, but is nearly always empty. Sells cheap beers and delicious sandwiches, nice for a little visit after or during your trip to the beach.

Stayed at Roc Lago apartments October 4th 2013, great location and the resort was very quiet, due to the impending close down for winter. Such a shame as the weather was always in the mid to high twenties and the area is beautiful. Will return if possible next year. Food was only average but with only a handful on diners / guests you couldn't expect anything else. Still good value for a three star,

Assistance at Manchester Ringway Airport is abysmal, especially for departures. Staff are rude, obnoxious, arrogant and make you wish you had stayed at home. Check-in staff are just as bad.
James Martin's In-flight meals are minimalist and poor value for money!
Get your Duty-free on the return flight, much cheaper than the airport's.
The cost of living in Spain has gone through the roof; Loaf of Bread 3 Euro their's and our's. Their Beer is cheaper but not much and B&H Ciggies 47.50 Euros at their Tabacs.
It is expensive to eat out so, go Half-board if you can and stay near the Roc Lago for best places to eat, the other side of the marina, the prices are steep.
The Spar Supermarket does the best prices for drinking water, has a selective array of goods. There is a larger supermarket further down but just as pricey, their drinking water is more expensive.
The Toro Negro and Les Palasides are the most expensive to eat at 10 Euro for a Prawn Cocktail. Med Bar - good prices/food, excellent service, and friendly waiters. Piccola - good prices, average food and poor service. Mr. Juane - good prices/food, slow service and excellent waiters. La Fontana - high prices, average food, good service but had swarf in my meal off the sword, which spoilt the evening. The Madarin/Chinese next door - good prices/food, excellent service and very friendly waiting staff.
There is a 'noddy' train that does a route in and around the resort. From 10 am to 1 pm and then 6 pm to ? The operator is very rude and a prat.
You can get buses the other side of the shopping centre that run every hour until 7 pm. Hire a car if that's your thing. We ride motorcycles/scooters. Hire theirs if you dare, 20 Euro a day. They wouldn't pass an MOT here even though, our travel insurance was specialist medical and covered us to ride; We hastily declined after closer inspection of the bikes.
The Menorcan welcome is a great one, all the time we were treated with respect and helped when needed. Nothing was too much. The Roc Lago Park apartments are a mix of first floor and ground floor accommodation, suitably kitted out for self-catering and offer excellent private balconies for sunbathing in the day and having a meal in the evening. We had apartment 3046, no adaptions, a first floor affair, struggled with my crutches and assistance. Around the complex are steep ramps with no handrails, swimming pool is accessible and clean. Staff were polite. Wifi 30 Euros extra. Use Skype for your calls home free!

We were given a room across the road (on the dark side) last block from the road, so 10 minute walk to reception. A good sized room with nice gardens surrounding a patio area. Just a pity the room was not looked after like the well kept gardens. On arrival the room was dirty, floors had not been cleaned and no brush or mop to clean them, cutlery dirty, toaster and hairdryer did not work, more importantly doors would not lock. All reported to reception and within one hour door was fixed, but unable to even get a broom to sweep the dirty floor. Next day water heater stopped working so no hot water, reported 3 times to reception in 48 hours but no luck on 4th visit to reception manager was there receptionist said it was the first time i had reported it, I became annoyed at her lies and said so, manager was great, offerd to change our room, water heater was fixed straight away, and all other problems sorted. We were happy with the room we had once I had cleaned it and everything worked. Pity the manager was not there earlier it would have saved a lot of frustration caused by trying to deal with rude unhelpful reception staff.
The holiday was not 5* price so we did not expect too much but a clean room and hot water should be a standard requirement that you should not have to fight for.
We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment, drinks at the bar were very expensive so only went once, €9.80 for 2 gjn and tonic. Happy hour was advertised in hotel but was stopped on our second day much to the annoyance of lots of other guests. Entertainment only on 2 nights whilst we were there but it was getting near end of the season.
A great location near the marina with lots of place to eat at very reasonable prices. Beaches nearby are very good.
Overall a good holiday but could have been great with not a lot of effort from the hotel staff. It seems to be a hotel of two halves with different standards either side of the road.
