Miss food from home (England)? Like Liverpool? Drop in for a quick bite...: Brief review and tips below

Apollones Street, Kamari 84700, Greece

I visited Santorini and stayed at a hotel in nearby area, Perissa for seven nights in early May 2014 (to attend a friend’s wedding). We visited Kamari once after hiking up and down the mountain from Perissa.

Nice food from a cafe bar owned by a Liverpool fan and an Evertonian fan. Thankfully it's the former that won the naming rights!
The husband and wife team were friendly and welcoming.
We had a club sandwich and chips which was good and prepared well for us!

The place is just off the main road and it's nice to go to a cafe without anyone trying to persuade you to enter. Recommend others to pop in and experience an English welcome in a tourist orientated area.

“A lovely piece of home like a big comfort blanket”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

What a wonderful find turn right at taverna al Greco and you will find the liver bar and Sheila and Wayne two of the nicest people we have met. We went there for breakfast and supper both were just lovely. The cup of tea I had was so welcome with 'real' milk and tea bag we had breakfast on several mornings which they were happy to cook to our spec, so filling we then only needed to eat at night the croissants were delicious just like at home and although we embraced the Greek way just sometimes you need to eat what you know and this is the place to do it. The chilli and curry are full of meat and so tasty as are the jacket potatoes and the baguette with bacon chicken and egg mayonnaise was cooked fresh And to die for. During our stay England's match in the works cup was on TV the morning of the match Wayne dropped the TV on his head they bought a new TV but had problems with the channel when it came to watching the game so they told us to go elsewhere and turning customers away rather than them missing the game thankfully the TV sorted itself out so we were able to watch it there in the end but Sheila kindly gave us a free brandy with our coffee for our inconvenience Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable and for giving us tremendous tips on places to visit and how to get there hopefully see you again

“Always great”

No matter how busy this couple are they always have a little chat and make sure all is well with you. Wayne and Sheila work so hard, just the 2 of them and a morning cleaning lady i think. Please drop in and say Hello especially if you would like an English Breakfast. We did not try this but saw quite a few being eaten! We did have a club sandwich which was very tasty.
Look forward to returning again.

“Thank you Sheila and Wayne for making our holiday so perfect.”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We have been going to Kamari every year for the past 5years and have always passed by the Liver Bird Cafe but never stopped, one day we missed breakfast (Greek style) and just wanted a good old fashioned english breakfast, Sheila was like a busy bee on her own handling her guests with so much eligance even though she hurt her wrist and was in pain she still managed to put a smile on everyones face, as you all might have noticed I am a executive chef here in the UK and I was astonished with the presentation and quality of each dish that Wayne presented, the hours that these two put in to make us all enjoy our stay deserves an OBE, Thank you both for your hospitality and perfection at all times.
