Having arrived on the late flight, we took a taxi to the hotel where we were warmly welcomed but swiftly told were to be moved to another hotel as they were overbooked.
Despite our protests we were taken to another hotel in Kamari with the promise it was of an equal 4star rating, that we would have full use of the imperial med facilities with full board benefits, as well as a driver on call to pick us up and drop us off at the hotel at our convenience.
Needless to say none of these promises were fulfilled. The hotel we were moved to was not a boutique 4star, but rather a more basic 3star. As the week went on, the staff at the Imperial became more difficult, questioning whether we were entitled to the full board drinks and menu, becoming unavailable to take calls and trying to get us to pay for the so called 'on-hand transfers' to the hotel.
While the hotel and it's pool and outdoor facilities were beautiful, we were left to feel like inferior guests to the Italian guests booked through Veraclub, and whom it appeared everything was catered specifically for, including both the meals and entertainment.
Talking to the other guests, ours does not appear to be a one off experience. Beautiful hotel but terrible service. Such a shame.More
