Spent one week at the hotel in the end of May. Our first time to Santorini and one that we will never forget! We was recommended this hotel by a friend who had stayed there last year and I can't thank her enough for the recommendation as we will most definately return again. Excellent serice by all, the hotel manager (Eleftheria) was wonderful and so helpful, she helped my boyfriend organise flowers, cake, breakfast in bed and champagne as a birthday surprise. The maids are awesome and so creative with the towels making them into Swans decorated by petals. The barman(Mitko) is awesome and became a great friend throuoghout our stay, he made a stay a really welcome one with lots of laughter and the best mohitos! Great food and great hotel and what made it even more special was that we got engaged on my birthday, a great ending to a very rememorable holiday. we will be back next year for the wedding!!!!

Hotel very good but not 5 star. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pool areas relaxing and very well maintained. Rooms simple but clean. We found out our room was in area rented from adjacent hotel and older than Antinea. Plenty of steps to negotiate to get from one area to another. Breakfast very nice with lots to choose from. We only had dinner on one evening and it was bit disappointing but plenty of restaurants to eat out in. Hotel is on quiet steep hill so hard on anyone with walking problems. The view from our room was amazing as are the views from most areas on this very beautiful island.

Room Tip: Most rooms have amazing views of the ocean. Lovely to wake up to.

Spent one week at the hotel. Room very clean throughout and beautifully decorated with petals by our maid. The hotel is very well designed with lots of nooks and crannies for shade. Pool area very relaxing. Food extremely well prepared and lots of choice for a buffet style. It was so good that we didn't bother eating in town at night! Staff were very welcoming and friendly - they couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is well located with a ten minute walk to the Kamari prom and beach. Enjoy the fantastic sunrise as it faces East and gets plenty of shade late afternoon as it is situated sheltered under the hill of Ancient Thira above. Will defo come back! A real gem of a find booked through Secret Escapes.

Spent 4 days from end April-Start of May and will try to summarise our experience :

Rooms and outside area :

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room with an outdoor Jacuzzi which added massively to our overall experience. The room itself and bathroom were clean and simple, nothing special to deserve 5 stars. However, we had a lot of space in our own private garden area outside the room with a massive Jacuzzi and loungers next to it. Our room was 604 and from what I could see was the best of the outdoor Jacuzzi rooms as it was a bigger garden and Jacuzzi than others and also more private with it being at the end of the hotel. The garden area is the main reason I'd give the experience 5 stars. Not sure i'd give the same rating if we had a standard double as from what I could see they didn't (or at least not all) have a private separated area outside.

Communal areas

Also very impressive. There is a main pool with comfy sitting places and fresh towels waiting for you and also a smaller pool at the back of the hotel which seemed very cosy. Also, free wifi was of a good speed and strength.

Food

We only had breakfast there but it was varied with a choice of full English breakfast or a continental breakfast which me and my wife enjoyed. The cereals were not so good though, my daughter wouldn't eat the cornflakes or cocopops and when I tried them I saw why as they had no taste. Also, a little strange was that coffee is brought fresh to the table, but when we asked for milk we were told to go inside to get it ourselves..no big deal but kinda defeated the point. Dinner looked good and was also a buffet style.

Location

It is a 5-10 minute walk down to the main strip, partially uphill, but it wasn't a big deal for us. Also, as it is very close to the mountain, it doesn't get the sun late afternoon.

Overall

If you can get a room with a Jacuzzi and like to have a few days relaxing, you wont go wrong here.

Room Tip: 604 is the pick of the outdoor Jacuzzi rooms

Together with my wife and son we spent a very pleasant week during middle of september in this resort. A quiet place, since it's not in the center, with a splendid view to east side - you can enjoy the morning sunrise, when the sun rise from the sea, right behind the next island. A specific flavour of dried plants in this area perfumes the air with a strong sweet smell - I still wonder which plants were those?
I recommand the excellent food - especially the dinners was offering various menus you can serve with and amazing sweets. My preffered was mousaka - best ever - congrats for the chef. The personnel is very nice and helpfull - room was cleaned daily, towels changed daily too, wifi internet free. My son enjoyed the pool and ...the cats around during breakfast and dinner.
This place is a good starting point for visiting by walk the ancient ruins of Thira, just have to climb until the small white church on the rocks, right above the hotel and the go further in the right to ancient site - the path is accessible and not dangerous at all.
All the other beautifull places of the island you can discover yourself, but this resort is a good place to rest after an active day or just for laying in bed or near pool during a warm day.
Enjoy!

We stayed at their hotel for one week in july 2012.

We arrived late at night, and helped other people to their sooms, since their was only one small girl in the receprion taking care of a lot of people. When it came to our check in, the hotel was full, sp we had to sleep on a hotel nearby. Not very good when it is late...and we are tired.

Comming the next morning for breakfast, we relaxed and got a room (with a upgrade). It was realy nice, and everything seemd to be ok. After spending a day at the beach on Kamari, I went to the receprion getting a WiFi-voucher. There I got told that we had to leave our room, it was another mix-up...we needed to switch rooms for the second time in 12 hours...
Our new room was nice, but not as good as the first one. We got free dinners for rest of our stay (we did not use it so often, when the food served for dinner is a buffet which is the same every day).

Other than that the personnel is superb, it is nice and quiet place with good breakfast. The pool areas is nice. But it is a walk to the beach (but on the other hand, it is more quiet there..you choose).

All in all, it is a nice place.

We chose the hotel according to other people's opinions, which were predominantly good. We were on half board, breakfast and dinner were excellent and you can eat by the pool, with a view to the mountain. The hotel is located beneath Ancient Thira, you can either walk to it uphill or drive to the car park above on a very narrow winding road - which is preferable, to the extent that you will have to walk more in Ancient Thira after that. The beach is not very near down the steep hill but with a car you can reach it in a couple of minutes and park right in front of it (the village/town of Kamari is also within walking distance). Parking is free in Santorini, except in Ia. Staying at Antinea Hotel requires having a car, as you will have to visit a number of other places that are not to be reached on foot: Thira, Ia, Imerovigli and Acrotiri are an absolute must, but there are others as well. The staff of the hotel was very nice, we talked several times to two young blond ladies who were extremely helpful. The one to whom we said good-bye, suggested that we visit the place again, which we may well do, should God grant. Of course, a review of a hotel - or whatever - in Santorini cannot but end with at least a short comment along the following lines: unbelievable beauty, far beyond one's previous knowledge of the world. And the hotel under review does not fail to meet the high expectations for the overall experience.
