This review is for the Mediterranean Beach hotel not the Med Palace up the road. A lovely quiet hotel in a beach front location - just like the photos show. The pool, bar & restaurant are all situated overlooking the beach & sea, a nice place to relax on an evening. The Beach is just used by hotel guests. No charge for sunbeds/umberellas & plenty to go round. The Beach is quite stony & black sand, as most Santorini beaches are, so we stayed mainly by the pool. The hotel is not within short walking distance for any bars or entertainment & has not any arranged evening entertainment on site. This was just what we were looking for but do not come here looking for a party. There are towns on Santorini that can offer the party atmosphere but not this particular place. Many different nationalities were staying here & very few children which, again, was what we were looking for. We had a suite room with a sea view which was lovely & cleaned daily. It was worth paying the extra to upgrade the room. We had the all inclusive option & were happy with the arrangement. The food was good, plenty of choice & fresh salads & fruit. It is buffet style on the all inclusive but you can pay extra & have al a carte menu & waiter service if you wish. We did not feel this was necessary. The choice of local alcohol drinks is very limited on the all inclusive option &, as others have mentioned, it does seem early this ends at 10pm. The reception staff, the 2 Vickys, are very helpful & friendly. The rest of the staff are nice but do not force themselves on you unless you want to interact & chat with them beyond normal restaurant & bar service. Whilst we were here there was a major power cut across the whole Island for 3 days but the hotel has it's own generator so the staff did very well ensuring our holiday was not affected too much. After a couple of days we were ready to explore & Vicky helped us hire a quad bike for a few days, which was good fun, & we explored the whole island in 2 1/2 days. There is plenty to see but we found a week on Santorini was long enough & probably would not visit again as we have seen it all. All the people we met on Santorini were very nice & friendly but not forceful as in some Mediterranean locations we have found in the past.
Do come here for a nice relaxing time in a good hotel but do not come here if you want a lively party time or need the children entertaining. We had a lovely time & are happy to recommend this hotel.
