We will come back since we enjoyed from the staff at reception
Up to the cleaning staff. Vicky welcomed us with a smile and all the deatailes needed to make us feel great in the hotel and Santorini.
The rooms are nice authentic Greek . The food at breakfast is basic
The view to pool and beach from the terrace is magnificent

Room Tip: Bungalow with sea view is the best

DID NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL - stayed in the sister hotel 'mediterrean royal' about 100 yards up the road but as we were all inclusive we ate lunch and dinner at this hotel and were able to use the hotel facilities. Zero complaints about the food - plenty of choice and cooked to a brilliant standard. Pool is salt water and chlorine which was unusual for us but my boyfriend much preferred it and I had no issues with it. The large beds are lovely and give a very 'boutique hotel' feel. The sun loungers on the beach are large enough for 2 people and really really comfy! All inclusive alcohol is not very good but large choice of soft drinks and juices! Location is brilliant to be peaceful but still easily accessed to visit the 'tourist' towns.

Room Tip: Sea view without a doubt

Firstly I should say we stayed at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel not the Palace (which is part of the same group but up the road but doesn't seem to be separately listed here). The MB was the prettiest hotel we saw on Santorini. It has an amazing pool which leads onto the beach. Beaches are few and far between on the island so to have a hotel with a fantastic pool AND almost private beach access, is very rare.

My daughter and I had booked a twin room but there was only a double available when we arrived, but we were assured we would be moved in two days and were upgraded to a beautiful two bedroomed suite for the remaining five days. It really was wonderful and well worth the slight inconvenience of the wrong room initially.

Vicky on Reception was outstanding. Her English is superb and she's very knowledgeable and helpful. She greeted us by name all the time and nothing was too much trouble. Niko - the porter was also incredibly helpful and charming at all times.

The food was good generally (although breakfast was slightly disappointing for us as we love fresh fruit and apart from a basket of apples/oranges, the other fruit was tinned pears/peaches and fruit salad. The fruit juices were also watered concentrate. We ordered salads - which were delicious for lunch and had one evening meal there - with very generous portions and good value. We also ate at a hotel on the beach (about 10 mins walk to the right of the hotel - which was fantastic). Mario's 10 mins up the beach to the left was highly rated by others but we didn't like it at all and neither did another couple we spoke to.

The hotel is a little out on a limb (though there are two hotels close by) and a little supermarket. However even though we visited Kamari, Oia and Fira (the main town) we didn't see anywhere we'd rather have stayed. The towns are very busy/crowded and many had tiny pools so it wouldn't have been pleasant to spend much time there. The MB's poolside is one of the best I've been to. The architecture of the hotel is really good too. It's well designed with lots of interesting layouts not just a block of rooms and the landscaping is very pretty.

We hired a quad bike to tour the island (about 39 euros from 9am - 10pm and it was delivered and collected). That was great fun (though slightly scary at night). We also went on a snorkelling safari in Kamari - which was good fun. Not the best marine life ever but the second dive spot was pretty good.

Fira and Oia (pronounced Ear) were lovely and we had some nice meals there too. We watched the sunset from a lovely place called The V Lounge which is a rooftop cocktail bar - great food in the day but just antipasto etc in the evenings.

Room Tip: Definitely worth 'de luxe' room with pool/sea view.

We are a couple from Austria who brought the whole family and friends along to this hotel (about 50 people) for our destination wedding in Santorini.

Of course at the start travelling with such a big group can be very chaotic, because our guests had some special requests concerning eg. room changes. BUT the reception was the kindest and offered us the best solutions :) at the end everyone was contented and happy.

WE LOVE THE HOTEL - all the personnel was very friendly, always greeting. They made us feel very comfortable.

All of us will surely come back again :)

After booking this hotel for our vacation through Expedia, we had numerous problems with the reservation - Unfortunately, Expedia (and their outsourcing through India) was unable to fix their mistakes and turned us over to management at the resort itself. After numerous phone calls and emails, we kept our fingers crossed that we would be problem free once we arrived. Upon arrival we were greeted by the manager of the resort who immediately told us we were given an upgrade (due to overbooking of a wedding), but we would be "very happy with our new rooms which included a balcony and a view of the sea" - Our original reservation was for standard rooms with garden view (which looked very nice in the picture on their website)-Of course we were delighted to accept the new offer. Our delight turned to dismay when we found ourselves in a "small windmill bungalow directly in front of the pool with no balcony; the view of the sea was behind the pool through two small windows in our room" - Our room was a circular room with a small hard double bed, minimal furniture and tile floor - closet for our clothes was located in the bathroom- our daughter a floor above us had one small window to look out at the sea, no balcony, and even worse conditions in the room, including a 10" TV" - When we contacted the manager, her friendly demeanor when we arrived, turned into a curt, uncaring attitude as she told us "I will be glad to move some guests and give you back the standard rooms you booked, but I will tell you they are worse than the bungalow we are giving you now" How ridiculous is that for a manager to relay to a guest! She insisted the little bistro table and two chairs outside our door was a "balcony" and that guests are extremely happy to have the upgrade to the windmill!! When I told her the hotel was rated with five stars and that is why we chose it, she proceeded to say "we are four stars not five!!" She could care less that we were upset over the conditions! After a pretty heated discussion, she told us the hotel was full but she would let us know the next day if one of the balcony rooms was available and she could switch us. We asked for the owner of the resort's address/info so we could lodge a complaint and she refused to give it to us claiming that she had full authority over the property. From that moment until we checked out, we never saw her again! The next day, we had to ask again and they gave us "one" room upgrade which we gave to our daughter - the difference was night and day!!! This room was modern, airy and came with amenities (basket with shampoo, lotion, conditioner etc) - The other rooms give you nothing but a soap dispenser on the wall; they told us the soap is also used to wash your hair! We travel a great deal so we are not novices when it comes to recognizing good customer service and this manager really could use some sensitivity training. Upon check out we were told that the "manager is new and very stressed taking care of two buildings on the resort and they apologized for how we were treated" - Other than the room incident, we have to say the food was great and the manager of the dining room very attentive and friendly every day. The rest of the staff on the property were also very accommodating. Resort is located near the airport runway - a bit far from town - a car is a must if you want to get around without waiting on bus transportation. Beach is not so nice in that you must climb over rocky dunes to get into the water, but nearby Kamari beach was much more enjoyable! Definitely not a four star resort, but I will give it a three!

Room Tip: Don't pick the bungalows unless you like frugal living on vacation while paying top dollar!!

We decided to avoid staying in Fira as we wanted to be able to unwind with a pool and the beach. The hotel fitted the bill perfectly. Although close to the airport we only heard planes in the distance-didn't actually have them flying overhead as happens in Kamari. The huge four poster pool beds with wafting curtains and massive pillows were in such demand that I was occupying a spot by 7.30am. Breakfast was simple but fine and the entire property was immaculately clean. As it is out of town it is definitely worth hiring a car to get around as every taxi fare is 15 euro at least. By far the best thing about the place was the staff. The lovely girls in reception were very helpful and their offsides Nikos kept my girls and I in stitches each day with his dry humour and greetings such as "Good morning Kangaroo Vountry Girls".

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms with the mezzanine floor-no handrail so coming down during the night to go to...

Four of us stayed here in mid June. A wonderful week was had here in this lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The gardens were beautiful and well kept. The whole area was spotlessly clean. The pool was salt water and big. Great for swimming. The restaurant served all kinds of food, no need for anyone to go without. Food was really top notch and was replaced quickly, so nothing ever ran out. The beach was black sand and there were a lot of pebbles beach edge so it is recommend to take rubber beach shoes as swimming in the sea is lovely and clear. We walked into Kamari which took around three quarters of an hour but got transport back as it iwas really too hot to hike both ways. The hotel bus will take you there and back for a fee of 5 euros each. The hotel rooms again were spotless and linen changed regularly with a litre of water provided each day. We had two rooms with sea views and would recommend this as it was lovely to sit late at night on the balcony. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will return in the future.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms for views.
