I thoroughly enjoyed the hike from Perissa up the narrow winding trail to Ancient Thera. I stopped by the church nestled into the side of Mesa Vouno on the way up because I was fascinated by the difficulty that must have been faced constructing it in that location.
So I was even more fascinated when I got to the summit and walked around the ruins of Ancient Thera! The views are excellent the entire climb. I
f you forget to bring water there's a vending machine at the top (50 cents for a bottle of water).
