Its not Pompeii but it's still impressive. Amazing to step back in time. Do t this first and then the small museum in fira.. neither is expensive and kids are free.

Excellent view and loved the drive up on the ATV. You just keep driving through turns (I think about 21 in total) to get a breathtaking view of Santorini

Interesting for its connection with Egypt and its place in Greek history. If you like this sort of thing there is also a museum in Thira with he artefacts.

We went on a very windy day and was a bit scary in places as the wind was so strong.
Wear shoes, trainers are good, flip flops are not.
Great views and interesting place to visit.

Stayed a week in Santorini and was supposed to visit Athens as well but it didn't work out. I was quite bummed I wouldn't get to see any ancient greek ruins but it turned out at the top of the mountain in Santorini laid the ancient city if Thera. The views from up there are expectacular, you get a 360 view of the entire island, it is breathtaking. The entrance fee is 2 € but free for people under 18. The ruins are nothing anazing but it is nice to see. It is definitely a place you need to visit, you get to see more of Santorini's history and beauty.
