The hotel has a great location right on Kamari beach where you can find nice restaurants and enjoy the black beach.

However, the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. As someone mentioned before, it's quite difficult if you have a lot of bags, because there are no lifts and it's all mostly steps and a few ramps.

The reception girls are a bit moody. When we checked in one of them looked annoyed at having to show us to our room - the next day she was happy...which was good..

Housekeeping do a great job in keeping the rooms clean. TV is very, very old and the bathroom is terrible... the shower is extremely small and awkward to shower in...curtain a bit dodgy.

It gets quite loud if you have a room close to the pool. Got woken up at 2am most nights by people screaming/drunk.

Room Tip: Try get a high floor room. Me and my parents were put in a room underground, which wasn't that n...

Great location. Stayed with a couple of families. Enjoyed the stay. Lack of lifts can be difficult for some. Would recommend the hotel. I would also warn you to stay away from the " family taverna" on the promenade. Not only do they cheat with the bill they also threaten you if you try to question them.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday staying at the Kamari Beach Hotel. The hotel is ideally located right on the beach and also in the middle of the promenade with an abundance of restaurants and shops. However this didn't mean that it was noisy. The buffet breakfast was a hot/cold buffet with a large choice, something that you do not always get in Greece. The pool bar was open long hours and served very good lunches at a reasonable price with a large choice. The rooms were big and bright and very clean, our towels were changed every day. The rooms are in a series of buildings and some have a few steps to reach the rooms, we were lucky and had ground floor rooms. The pool was a good size and very clean as were the surrounding areas. There didn't appear to be any facilities for children however. The resort itself is lovely with an abundance of very good reasonable restaurants and also shops. The beach was black and stony, being a volcanic island so beach shoes are advisable and the water shelved very quickly.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or resort and would certainly go back there.

Room Tip: There are a few sea view rooms which would be nice, however there are no lifts and so rooms on the u...

We stayed at kamari beach hotel in june was very pleased with location staff nice and friendly room was large but we had small balcony if you can get a sea view. Good restaurants nearby we liked the the Hook were you catch the boat to Pessarie.A very good bus service into Thira were you can get other buses to all other places price very cheap just pay on bus 1:60 euros each way

Room Tip: rooms with sea view are best, courtyard rooms a bit dark

We have just returned from a 10 day stay here. This time we came along with friends, who always like to upgrade their rooms. Because of this they had booked superior rooms, whilst we were quite happy to be in a standard one. However on arrival the lovely receptionist told us that because we had stayed before we had been upgraded to superior to be next to our friends. This was very kind and added to our enjoyment.
All the staff are pleasant and helpful and a big "well done" to their cleaning staff who work tirelessly but seem so happy.
I know we will be back again.
Many thanks.

We stayed four nights in May. The hotel was the first on the beach at Kamari (after an earthquake destroyed the town in 1956) but it has been extensively and successfully renovated and improved. Great location on the black pebble beach. Rooms are fairly large (at least ours was, with balcony and sea view) but fairly basic (typical Greek island resort type room). Good service with accommodating staff. Nice breakfast with indoor and outdoor seating. Large very nice pool. Good little bar by the pool.

Many nice restaurants on the beach road just to the north of the hotel (Nichteri and the Mango Café are both highly recommended). There's a decent grocery store one block in-land from the Mango Café (by the bus stop).

One negative: parking. The only parking, for guests, is in a public parking lot that is reached by going thru the hotel, thru another small parking lot past a restaurant and across a street...it's a hike if your room is near the front (seaside) of the hotel, especially if you have a lot of luggage. (Staff and residents, not guests, can park in front of hotel.)

Tip: Pay the extra charge for a "superior room" with seaview. Many rooms are in a series of small buildings that are behind the main building. They are still OK as there is good landscaping etc. although some require quite a few steps.

Room Tip: Pay the extra fee for a Superior Romm with seaview.
