“Little bit old and messy”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

The hotel had an excellent location but quite poor rooms. Bathroom renovation was poorly done and it smell like mold. Service was good but surroundings was not at all worth the price. Towels were old and hard, everything was a bit broken, pillows were too hard and matresses old and creaky.

Originally booked into another hotel we were told on arrival at the airport that our accomodation wasn't ready for us and we would be staying at Reflexions Sea.
Being a sceptic I thought we were being fobbed off with inferior apartments, how wrong I was.
From the moment we arrived and saw the location and the standard of the apartments we knew we were on a winner.
Rooms were typically traditional Greek and were well equipped and kept spotlessly clean.
Breakfast every morning overlooking the beach and we were particularly impressed with Stefania, she went out of her way to make sure our stay there was an enjoyable one.
We would definitely go back to Kamari and would stay at Reflexions Sea again.

We stayed in the Santorini Reflections Sea Hotel from 22 June 2014 for one week.

We were greeted by Sebastian who took us to reception who then carried our luggage to room 13 for us. The room was spacious and clean, with a large balcony which caught the sun for most of the day. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was small, but too be fair we spent our time relaxing on the black sand beach, just outside the hotel. Two sunbeds and an umbrella cost 5 Euro’s a day and was well worth the money. Sebastian looked after the sunbed area for the hotel and was available to bring us drinks and food from the hotel bar. The menu was priced similarly to other hotels along the strip. The breakfast was the usual continental affair, bread, cheese, meats, etc. I would definitely stay at the Santorini Reflections Sea hotel again.

Getting around the Island was easy, the buses were regular, although very busy. All buses to the various villages went from the bus station in Thira. A must see for us was the stunning view as you walk up the street and find the Caldera. We also visited Oia one evening, but decided not to stay for the sunset due to the number of other tourists, and headed back to Thira for a wander around and a cold beer.

I have visited Santorini several times before. This time we found two local beers, The Santorini (Donkey) Brewery and Volkan beer. Both well worth a try.

We have just returned from the Santorini Reflexions Sea Hotel, we were offered this hotel as an alternative to our original booking with hotels4u.com as our original choice became unavailable 10 days before departure. After looking at reviews and the hotel web site we decided the hotel was a very reasonable alternative. Upon arrival, the location and outdoor appearance of the hotel were just like the pictures we had seen. We were shown to Room 7, where we soon found the simillarities ended. The room was large, with 2 single beds, a shower room, and small kitchen area, a very typical Greek apartment. Upon closer inspection we noticed that there were bare electrical wires hanging from the ceiling where the light fittings used to be, the kitchen utensils were minimal, (not even a tea spoon), the 2 ring electric hob did turn on and off sometimes, (sometimes it turned on on its own). The hand held shower had no wall attachment and with every use flooded the bathroom and seeped out into the kitchen, releasing a pungent smell of Greek drain. The hotels details boast "Rooms at the Santorini Reflexions Sea feature everything you are likely to hope for during your stay on the island, music facilities, television, air-conditioning and a mini-bar comes as standard," - we had no music facilities, the TV had no english speaking channels, and we had no mini bar. The window and shutters would not open. Our outside area consisted of an unsafe, unfinished building site, which the staff used as a short cut to the next door hotel, even when we were there. The "patio" was a large area of unlaid, unsafe concrete slabs, in the 10 days of our stay we didn't manage to find an area flat enough to put all 4 legs of a chair down on. There was a huge pine tree on our patio which was shedding its cones, making the wearing of a hard hat a must! The hotel is home to several cats and kittens, on several occasions we had to shoo them out of our room and most mornings we were awoken by the howl of mating and fighting cats outside our door. We were told that we could use the hotels guest shower after we had checked out as we had a late afternoon flight home. The shower was next to the staff's smoking area and the plug was full of cigarette buts, hair and filth, it had quite obviously not been cleaned for a considerable amount of time,.
On a positive note, the room was cleaned every day, and there were fresh sheets and towels daily too. The outside area was very pleasant, the breakfast was the same every day, very basic, but the bread was good. The beach is immediatley ouside the hotel and there is a waiter service to the sunbeds. Guests are charged the same price for the sunbeds as anyone else who wishes to use them . The hotels outdoor pool would be better described as a plunge pool, it is tiny!
The staff were pleasant, but could not help us in any of our concerns about the room, stating they were fully booked. This was quite evidently not the case as we could see that there were some other emplty apartments and only a hand full of guests at the hotel during our stay.
We have stayed in Greece several times before and have come to love the Greek basic but clean style of accommodation. My issue with this hotel is that it advertises its self as a luxury 4 star accommodation. It is not. It would be much better described as a 2 star or basic 3 star accommodation.
Kamari and Santorini were beautiful. The restaurants and bars away from the promenades affer very good value, a premium is definitley paid for the sea view.

Room Tip: Not Room 7

We have just returned after a week in Santorini, attending a family wedding. Originally booked into another hotel, but 3 days before departing were informed that it was not yet open and we were moved to Reflexions Sea. Any concerns about this switch were forgotten once we saw both the location and the accomodation which was perfect for our needs and well maintained. Sebastian helped us on first arrival, then we met Stefania who quite simply was excellent, with her friendliness & efficiency and made us feel so welcome. We had a terrific week and the location and facilities of Reflexions Sea were perfect ( much better than the original hotel booked ) All our family who saw the apartment thought the same and some were almost jealous. Thank you to everyone, and good luck with your Salad Restaurant

Thirty four steps and a key to the infamous room 9 awaited us at Santorini Relexions Sea. Fortunately lugging the cases to our room fell to Sebastian the “Jack of all trades” lad who seems to work 24 hours a day.
The welcome here was friendly, but Sebastian didn’t hang about once he showed us to our room/studio. The furnishings are basic, simple but old. Actually they look rather like the sort you find at the back of a French auction sale, or an Oxfam rejects outlet. The room, however, was clean, the shower worked but any realistic chance of creating a Greek culinary masterpiece from the kitchen corner were zilch!. Only the basic rudiments were supplied, and the fridge took a whole week to produce a single ice cube. As for the promised sea view, well yes there was a view, but it tended to remind one of that Faulty Towers sketch where the sea is over there between gasworks and the water tower. Most of the view was obscured by brick walls a mere twenty feet away that surrounded the line of vision. We were genuinely close to walking out there and then, but our “stiff upper lipped Britishness” kicked in and we decided to give the place a chance.
After a night’s sleep and a pretty decent breakfast (taken right on the water’s edge in glorious sunshine), we began to mellow. Then the strangest of all reactions developed; we began to love the little room. Indeed we would not have changed it for an upgraded room. It grows on you, the peace, the restricted view and even the not so useful cooking equipment. The famous 34 steps up to or room were no problem and the room took on a sort of Portmerion type of attraction. Like number six in the Prisoner !.
By the end of our week, we loved the place, its lovely courtyard garden walk to our room, the simplicity of the accommodation and the friendliness of the staff, all made for a great holiday where you simply wind down and learn to relax again.
Pros: Simplicity, location, peace and quiet, breakfasts on the beach terrace, warmth of the staff
Cons: inability of fridge to make an ice cube

Room Tip: Go for room 9 . Its never as bad as some would have you believe and its the only cheap one with a pr...

We stayed here at the beginning of September. Such a relaxing Island and so beautiful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and an ideally situated. The staff were brilliant and could not have been more helpful and made our stay so lovely. Thank you Sofia, Nadia, Sebastian, Mr Nasos and our lovely barman too. Smart jewellery shop at the hotel and Paula was great. Lots of restaurants around, ideal location. Mike and Moyra from Scotland
