“Lovely house for raki and wine ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014 via mobile

The pinakio is good restaurant for dinner or lunch. Is like a house to tasty gourmet plates like oneirologio or octopus tentacles grilled and the pinakio salad. Many plates for choice. We going a lot of times there. The welcome with raki, the sweet and the special drink is gift from the restaurant.

“A Non-Touristy Restaurant for Those of You are Tired of Tourist Traps”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

We seldom go to a restaurant more than once while travelling. This was an exception to the rule.

Recommended by the staff at our hotel in Kamari as a "good traditional Greek restaurant", we were not disappointed. The menu is rich with dishes we would not have found at the seaside ("come in please") restaurants found along the beachfront in Kamari.

Dimitrios & Georgios (as told to me by Dimitrios) got fed up with their lives & jobs in Athens and decided to make a go of it in Santorini. I think they have done a great job.

From the outside, the restaurant is rather subdued. It pales in comparison to its neighbours and those along the waterfront in terms of bravado. But once inside, you are treated to honest and earnest Greek hospitality. A nice welcoming drink awaited us. Plus some hors d'oeuvres.

On both visits, we chose to eat a salad along with shared dishes. Some house white wine, sweets and a final drink. Two hours later we were done.

All this for a very reasonable price. Great service and nice chit chat. A+

If you want something a bit special and a place you will remember and recommend to others, this is it.

“Quiet night!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

Good food & good prices, service was fine, only a handful of patrons. Not the best location by the trafficy road but this eased off as the evening wore on. It was nice to try and worthy of a good rating but there are certainly much better restaurants for ambiance elsewhere.

“Great Find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Recommend by our Hosts at Hotel 28. It's where the locals eat. Loved everything. The food. The music. The service (really excellent). And... very affordable. We will be back before we leave Kamari. There is more on the menu that we would like to enjoy!

“The very best of Santorini”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

We went late on a Friday night (about 10pm), and the place was full and alive with locals! What a fantastic experience. We took our cues for ordering from the diners around us as we prefer to have an authentic local experience when travelling, and we weren't disappointed. We dined Greek style, will mezze dishes to share. I highly recommend all of the following: the local sausage dish, salad with orange, pear and cheese (To Pinakio Salad), banana pepper bake, and the sfougato (Greek version of Spanish tortilla - do note, this will arrive probably after the other food). We enjoyed everything with a side of tzatziki. The free ouzo to start and liquor to finish were a delight.

If you're a wine drinker, I recommend (as with anywhere on Santorini) to order the house white wine. Always a perfect, local accompaniment to every meal (and very affordable!).

Service was prompt and friendly, even on a busy night. The best meal we had on Santorini, and possibly anywhere else for that matter! The whole relaxed and happy dining experience just made the meal complete (along with charming and modern decor).
