Most ideal location for holiday. Couple of mins walk to the beach and bus stop that takes you to anywhere in the island. Rooms are clean and nicely arrange to offer quiet accomodation. Do not forget to eat at the resto just outside hotel for the best roast chicken.

We originally booked 4 nights and quickly changed it to 7 as we had such a wonderful time here. The pool was so relaxing and we spent many days here laying in the lovely sun. The owner is so friendly and it made our stay in Greece so much nicer. We dream of returning here where we lived like kings for pennies. Great place.

Room Tip: The apartments are very large and could sleep two couples or a family comfortably.

Food and service
Food was very delicious everytime (hotel is breakfast only). You can choose from either toasts with cheese and ham, or fresh joghurt with topings. Everyday we got very good fresh coffee. Cleaning ladies clean your room everyday and take out the thrash and change your towels.

Rooms
Rooms are cozy and nice, climatization is working well and the bed was confortable. The bathroom was a little small, but nevertheless good. In every hotel on the island you cannot dumb the paper into the toilet, you have to put it in the thrash right next to it. This is normal on every greek island, so you should be prepared for it.

Hotel
Hotel has it's own nice and quite big swimming pool (hotel has 22 rooms altogether +-), the swimming pool was never crowded, so if you are the pool person and prefer to go to the pool then to the see, you will find this very usefull. We never triede it tho, we went to the see every time. Hotel is nice family hotel.

Surroundings
The hotel is in a dead-end street in the town, which means, that there are nearly no cars passing by the hotel. Overall surroundings are calm and quite part of the city. There is no discoteque around or anything too noisy.

Summ
We felt like a part of the family in this hotel. The lady owner did serve the breakfast herself and everyday we talked with her. She (and all her staff) were very pleasant and made us feel welcome and part of the family.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine, but I guess the rooms upstairs have better view.

We stayed at The Maria Preka for one week just returned home 28th August it was basic acconadation but very clean the pool area was great got a subbed at any time of the day most days the were no more than 6 people round the pool . If you are looking for a quiet relaxing Holliday I would recommend Santorini it is stunning and the resort of Kamari is great lovely promenade on the beach front great for a stroll after your evening meal there are many bars and restraints
To choose from reasonable prices.

have just returned from Santorini after going out there for a holiday /wedding . we found Maria to be lovely and funny , she even brought our bride to be some lovely flowers on the day of her wedding .
excellent location for everything , rooms basic but clean and spacious . pool area is nice and quiet and there were plenty sunloungers .often had the pool to ourselves .
Maria and her daughter (from the hotel facing ) were really helpful- they organised taxis and coaches for the wedding day and helped us with anything we needed . you can also buy food and drinks from the hotel and they bring it across for you .
would most definately recommend the Maria Preka x

Best holiday ever, would return tomorrow if I could. Accommodation was very good for a 2 * and possibly the cleanest place I have stayed in, never any problem getting a sunbed and was sometimes the only one in the pool. Would definitely recommend the Maria preka.

Really loved the Maria Preka – the accommodation and pool area are absolutely immaculate. It is a really peaceful and beautiful place to stay. For 2* accommodation it is really well equipped and very well looked after – for Greek self-catering standards it is surely deserving of 3+* or even 4* and there were always sunbeds available.

What makes this place even better though is the Greek family (Maria and her daughter Fotini) that run it, they are so helpful and will help you out with anything they can – you just need to ask. Just pop across to the Hotel Anassa Reception – it takes less than a minute and Fotini has a wealth of information at her fingertips. The Hotel Anassa also has a bar and offers light snacks – food and drink are really reasonably priced and they do lovely salads and baguettes. They will also deliver food and drink to your room or the pool side tables at the Maria Preka (there is no charge for the room service). They prefer you not to have glass and crockery at the sunloungers because of broken glass.

The Maria Preka is also really close to absolutely everything , it’s less than 5 minutes walk to Beach (literally turn left and walk straight to the Beach), and there are loads of shops, restaurants, tavernas and bars everywhere you go in Kamari – everything is just 5 minutes away. The Bus Stop is approx. 2 minutes walk, turn left and left again, the island Bus Service is really good and there are plenty of places nearby where you can hire a car or quad bike. Santorini is lovely so it’s definitely worth doing some exploring – Oia (the famous village with the white buildings and blue domed roofs) is a must but can be really busy at times. We also did a sunset cruise around the volcano which was fab.

I would definitely recommend the Maria Preka to anyone, but especially if you are looking for a place to just relax and enjoy the sunshine in beautiful surroundings.

We stayed at the Maria Preka for 2 weeks in July 2012 and travelled with Thomson.
