Situated at the quiet end of Kamari beach it is worth the walk up the slight hill and a number of steps. Staff very nice and good breakfasts. Worth paying extra for sea view rooms. Bed linen and towels changed daily. Sea was lovely to swim in, but watch the waves and the volcanic shingle can make it a bit tricky getting in and out of water. Hotel was very comfortable. Nice pool area. No-one seemed to use indoor pool or games room. Plenty of books to borrow. We took a taxi from airport (20 euros) rather than wait for the transfer coach. Only improved entry at hotel would be proper walk in showers rather than ones above the bath. We would not hesitate to return.

Just returned from a one week stay at the Epavlis hotel, and enjoyed it so much we have booked to return next year.
The hotel is spotless as others state, and the service was excellent .If you want a peaceful holiday this is the place to go.
Breakfast is very good with a massive selection of pastries and cakes as well as the usual eggs, ham and cheeses. The pool area is small and quiet but does the trick when you need to cool off. We stayed in a superior room with a sea view, and was well worth paying that little bit extra.
There are lots of places to eat on a evening, but after the first couple of days, stayed away from the sea front as the waiters trying to get you in tends to get on your nerves a little.
A couple of places that we really enjoyed were Kiwi(if you are wanting something different) which serves great Chinese and Thai food and Meli and Thymari - Great food and very welcoming.
If you are looking for a lively place to stay this is not for you,but if its peace quite and relaxation it ticks all the boxes.

Nice hotel, very clean, good service with helpful friendly reception, bar, restaurant staff, and owners. Breakfast was good with a varied selection of food to keep most people happy. It is located a little away from the busy sea front with a small incline so if you have problems walking up hill you might be better nearer to Kamari. We had a great stay and would stay again. Constructive feedback would be to change the showers to thermostatically controlled showers as the temperature was a bit erratic and took some skills to keep adjusting. We also had a jacuzzi which we could only use on one occasion because it was not easy to control the heating. Instructions in the room would have been a good idea although the owner did get it working for us when we asked.

the epavlis is a really lovely hotel, its location is just out of the main town centre and beach front , so close enough to enjoy all the benefits yet away from the noise , its a very clean hotel and the rooms and areas immaculate , the receptionist as described by others is extremely helpful and friendly, the room we were given although nice was to the side of the hotel and yes it has a sea view but very limited , we paid for a superior and so were disappointed with that , we also paid for H/B and were concerned as reviews stated no restaurant only a breakfast room , on arrival we were given meal vouchers to use at a local restaurant , not everybodys cup of tea but for us it was fine , the restaurant andraeous is a great family run place with good food , friendly staff and some great entertainment there is an incline walking back up to the hotel but for anyone even of average health its nothing , in fact its because of this you get the lovely views from the pool area , to the rear of the hotel is the steep and winding road to ancient thira , visit this its like stepping back in history and the views are stunning , brill , id go back to the epavlis and kamari

Room Tip: ask for a room to the front of the hotel

Epavlis is in a quiet location just at the bottom of the mountain. There is a steep incline up to the hotel from the beachfront but we found walking slowly made it less intense! We did know this before we booked so weren't surprised and it was preferable to being in one of the hotels on the busy seafront.
We booked a superior double for our honeymoon and were lead to believe this would mean a sea view. We were disappointed on check in to be shown to a very small room with two single beds pushed together with a view of a wall! We ended upgrading at a cost to an actual double room with a lovely four poster bed and a des view but feel that the rooms should be better described when booking.
The pool area was clean and peaceful with very comfortable loungers and the bar snacks were reasonably priced. We did spend half our time at the beach for a bit of variety though.
Can't agree with the previous review regarding breakfast, we thought it was fantastic! Loads of variety, bread, pastries, eggs, homemade cakes, fruit, yoghurt and lots of what I assume were Greek specialties such as frittata type bakes - delicious! We had no problem with the milk either!
The hotel was probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed! Bathroom was sparkling and the maids even tidied the dressing table each day! Towels changed every other day and bedding every 3-4 days. We would probably stay here again if we returned to Kamari

Was anticipating and expecting an awesome hotel after reading most of the reviews on Epavlis. However my experience was very disappointing after travelling with my family.
The pros- lovely looking clean hotel. The pool is great but whole area lacked atmosphere .
The cons-from the beginning we had a lack lustre greeting by the owner.
Placed in the furtherest room corner of hotel.
Hotel situated too far from the beach . If you have children or are elderly I would suggest you stay closer in to Kamari . The steep incline walk is tiresome if you are returning from spending day at beach or heading back after dinner.
The water from showers would fluctuate from hot and cold - drove me crazy.
Hardest bed I have ever slept on with uncomfortable pillows to match.
Ants crawling in my room.
Service poor around pool
Limited menu for lunch .
Breakfast was terrible - we were asking for bacon and we were told they had forgetten to cook.
All milk provided was UHT - revolting !

We accept and take under consideration every constructive review but there are some points that we have to offer a different point of view
At the hotel’s description it is clearly stated that the hotel is above kamari bay and 150 m from the beach and since the guest has clearly checked out the reviews, we are sorry that she missed out the parts where the slight upward road is mentioned.
As for the breakfast we simply do not have bacon on everyday basis because the variety of all the other dishes provided, is preferred and greatly appreciated by the majority of the guests. In the same way of thinking we have set our snack -bar menu. We think that a home made pizza is preferable to French fries

We have just arrived home from a family holiday at the Epavlis Hotel in Santorini. We were there for my Daughter's Wedding. What a fabulous hotel! Spotless everywhere, great pool and lovely views over Kamari and the sea. We booked a sea view room and I would definitely recommend this. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Lunch time snacks at the hotel were very reasonably priced and perfect if you want to stay by the pool all day (toastie three euros). Santorini was without electricity for four days in total while we were there and while no one seemed to mind (holidaymakers or residents!) it was very nice to come back to a hotel with lights and air conditioning!! Staff were very helpful, especially Christina on reception. I would gladly go back to Santorini and this hotel again. Santorini is a very beautiful island with lots to see. A photographers paradise.........
My only negative of the hotel is the very slippy poolside, it is marble.
