A great small hotel and rooms made better by the family atmosphere. Dimitris and Poppy run the establishment, Andrea and Babbis play the music, wait on tables and serve in the restaurant and Maria doers everything! Very friendly and well situated. The music must be the best in Kamari. Andrea has had 4 years in Athens Music School. The food is excellent, better than other more well known establishments. A little near the airport but not a problem, in fact it´s fun watching the planes. Five minutes from the sea and 10 centre of town.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I stayed with my girlfriend at this hotel for 6 nights. When we got to the gate of the hotel, the owner (Poppy) was waiting for us at the gate.
Owners' attitude
Besides the fact that her outfit did nit look very neat, she didn't even bothered to say hello to the new commers, as she handled the keys and returned to whatever she was doing. She didn't even give us directonts to the room, although it was not very obvius where the room was located. Except for the owners' son, nobody speaks very well English.

Aspect and cleansiness of the room
As we are not very picky, we ignored the fact that the room and bathroom looked rather desolating (as may see in the attached pictures). However, my girlfried find several hair on the floor and in the bathroom.

Air conditioner

Unless your travel agency already informed you on the aspect, you you have the surprise to find our that the a/c costs an extra 5eur/day. Fortunaly, although in we were there in August, the temperature is not unbearable (at least in the evenings) as to require an a/c.

Food

Do not expect to have a too consistent breakfast. You will only find there tea, long coffee and apetisers (such as cheese and some sort of ham) but which to not look very fresh. When I asked the owner why is so little food, she reply in a basic English: "What do you expect, this is a cheap hotel".

So, keep that in mind when you go there.
Cheers!

We travelled out to santorini in May this year on a reccy of sorts to help plan our wedding in 2012. Having stayed at Dimitris back in May 2007 it was the obvious choice for us when booking, and I am very glad we went back!
The hotel was once again immaculate, welcoming and lovely.
Demitris studios are basic but all your need, clean tidy comforatble rooms, 5 mins from the beach, lovely big quiet pool - and fantastic family run feel to the whole place that made our stay just perfect.
We found Food and drinks were really cheap in comparison to some of the other tavernas and restaurants on the Island.
Poppy the owner and her lovely daughter Mary are brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and they helped so much with all our many many wedding related questions!
Will be recomending Dimitris as the hotel for our friends and family to use on our wedding invites!

The hotel accommodation was basic, with an electric stove that was old and tatty. There was no wifi access. The key to the safe didn't fit. When we asked how to switch on the air-con in our room, we were told we'd have to pay €5 per day to use it, or €10 to borrow a fan for the week! We were not impressed by this as Greece is so hot you have to go for one or the other, and all the hotel owners did was succeed in making themselves look mean and penny-pinching. Twice there was no hot water and there was also a brief power cut during our stay.

The food was very good and reasonably priced - cheaper than eating out in one of the main towns of Fira or Oia. We had some red snapper which was particualrly good. Sadly, the standard of service was poor. After main course served we were completely forgotten about, and I had to get up and find someone to ask for the bill. It still didn't come so I had to get up and ask again. This cost them after dinner drinks, dessert and a tip.

On the positive side it was very quiet at night. Whilst the airplanes are close and noisy they are not frequent enough to be a real nuisance. I didn't need the earplugs I'd brought just in case!

The staff were pleasant but initially uninterested in us. It was only towards the end of our stay that Andreas, the owner's son, asked if we were our enjoying our stay. There were no added extras, absolutely everything was charged for.

Our stay wasn't such a delight that we'd want to stay there again, but neither was it a disaster. In short, you won't regret staying here but you won't be impressed either.

My fiance and I were so lucky to find this gem of a hotel for our first vacation together. We were welcomed by "Poppy the superstar" (She is a wonderful cook) and had a lovely room right by the pool. Atmosphere at the hotel was relaxed and enjoyable. Two evenings a week, it was Greek night at the restaurant with entertainment and traditional ffoods if you wanted it. For us who wanted a quiet relaxing holiday, the location of the hotel within walking distance of the center was perfect .. The hosts, Dimitris family are warm, genuine and kind people who were really helpful and kind. We look forward to coming back to Santorini and Dimitris hotel, eat the food of Poppy and listen to his sons in the family play Greek music.

Just returned from last minute break to Santorini. Beautiful island and I certainly recommend it. Dimitris was very nice and clean but being two 'over 60's' we had to watch the pennies and did not eat and drink in the taverna every day and were not treated very graciously by the owners because of this. We got the impression that if you were a bit loud and drank a lot they acted as though you were their best friends! I have no real complaint about the rooms (although ours, no19, was a bit too close to the bar and pool and we felt a bit exposed). There is also the problem of aircraft and traffic noise but weighing up the pros and cons I would prefer to be in that particular area of Kamari if you do not want to be in the thick of the resort. We did have a wonderful Greek evening and their son, Bobby, is a very talented musician and singer. The food was ok but I had better elsewhere.

Stayed here in high summer, was super hot, but you can hire air-con and fans, we got both, much needed, and worked well and a breeze at night was constant and very welcome. The pool is nice and the staff/family are really nice once you get them to open up.... they were friendly and helpful, and seemed pretty genuine, you could get simple local bar food there too if hungry, which was handy. The accommodation is a fair walk to the main strip, and was a little dark and foreboding walking back late a night, as there are a few dark and empty stretches on the walk.
If noise annoys you don't go for rooms 19 or 20, these open right onto the pool and bar, so there can be noise in the morning and really late at night , also, it's pretty near the airport, and while the incredible site of planes coming in to land over your head is impressive the noise is really loud. It would be a lovely place if it was away from that, but the town and island are really worth a visit, though the beach is so gravelly and slippery that much care is required if you fancy a swim... so, with a quiet room at the back and ear-plugs and an eye mask, you can have a great time...
