We to Santorini for my friends wedding & we had a great time! Arion Bay is in a great location and you have got restaurants, bars, shops and the beach on your doorstep! ilias & tony are great hosts! The rooms are basic but comfortable the only thing i didnt like was the showe! its just a shower cubicule and you have to hold the shower yourself but i got used to it after a while & the majority of hotels are the same even 4* hotels! The pool area is lovely and really clean! The breakfast is also very good!
We loved kamari and we always met in the bar Dolce before going for a meal we always had a laugh with the bar staff in there! We definately prefared Kamari to Perissa because Perissa is al so spread out nd the front is not as nice as Kamari! During the days we all met a pool bar called Silia its a great place to meet if theres a few of you all in different hotels & you all want to be together uring the days, the snacks are great there especially the ham & cheese wraps & club sandwiches!
My friend got married at Santo Winery & it was a perfect day!
Everyone had a great holiday in Santorini!

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Arion Bay in Kamari. The hosts Elias and Tony were great any problems always sorted out, both have a great sense of humour in different ways really enjoyed their company.

The rooms are basic but we had a gorgeous sea view with everything you need including a necessary air conditioning and fridge, slight problem with the cleaning (new cleaners this season) which was quickly sorted by Elias.

Breakfasts here are very good for Greece eggs, bacon, cheese, fruit, yogurt and various breads.

The bar in the evening very sociable meeting lots of different nationalities, I would not hesitate in visiting this hotel again thanks Elias and Tony.

Just returned from two weeks holiday and we really enjoyed ourselves.Tony and Elias deserve all the credit for making our stay so enjoyable, with their good humour and helpfulness. If you are looking to relax and really enjoy yourselves then this is the place for you.We did not enjoy the food selection along the strip in the evenings but this is not the fault of the hotel.their breakfast was very good, the air conditioning was great and everyone we met was having a good time.My partner Jean sends her love to Tony and Elias and says to keep up the good work!!!

We stayed at the Arion Bay for the 4th time this year and would recommend this hotel to people wanting a friendly relaxing holiday.
Elias and Tony are excellent hosts and one of the reasons we go back year after year. The rooms are basic but spotless as you would expect of any hotel of this class and the view from the hotel is fabulous.
The breakfast which is served from 7.30 to 10.00 everyday is very good and includes cereal bacon scrambled egg cold meats cheese and fresh fruit (something for everyone)
We have met lots of people who go back year after year and its nice to know when you go back there is always a friendly face at the bar .
My only advice would be if you wanted lots of activities for children Kamari is probably not the place.
we will look forwrd to going back next year and meeting friends old and new.
And yes Tony we will look forward to the music around the pool especially Peter Grant!!

I stayed at this hotel at the begining of august 2008 with my partner, our 6 year old daughter and two of our friends, We were there for another friends wedding which was held at the santo winery.

We arrived in santorini just as it was going dark and i have to say we were most impressed with how quick we were processed through the airport. We were taken to our bus by our first choice travel rep and set off to our hotel only to be advised that we would not actually be dropped off at our hotel !!! due to the fact that the bus could not get access to the main strip where our hotel was located. We were left a good few hundred meteres away from our hotel on a side street, in the dark and told that if we kept on walking down the dark side street then turn left we would eventually find the arion bay.

There was no offer of the travel rep coming with us to check us in, and we had 6 suitcases between 4 adults !! if our cases had not got wheels on them enableing us to pull tham there is no way we would have been able to get them to the hotel. No one from the hotel came to meet us to help either. We felt that because this is a regular occurance we should have been warned when we booked.

On arriving at the hotel we were shown to our rooms which i have to say were clean but very, very, basic. I know in general greece is more basic than alot of countries, and the fact that we went in the august school holidays meant it was peak season but we think for what we paid the hotel is extremely over priced. We paid almost £2300 for 2 adults and a child b&b for two weeks.

The breakfast was in our opinion average and you had to get there really early to get a seat to eat it, and if you went during the last half hour of serving the staff had started clearing away.

The hotel was very clean in general and ellias the bar tender is a lovelly fella, nothing too much trouble, infact due to the lack of other english children at the hotel (our daughter being the only one during the whole of our 2 week stay !!!) ellias's children played with her every day.
Tony the other bar tender who seemed to work during the day was in our opinion miserable, at times rude and of no help what so ever.
We found kamari nice the beach was not over clean though, fag ends every where!!

On our day of departure we were due to vaccate our rooms at 11am, now having had a few drinks the night before our friends decided to go down for breakfast early then go back to bed for an hour or so. On return to there room they found that the beds had been stripped !! it was about 9am. They went to complain to tony as we had paid for our rooms till 11am and he just replied "we are very busy, we have alot to get done" This in our opinion is tottaly out of order. Our friends room was next to ours and we were standing having a chin wag about the sittuation, my daughter still asleep in bed when the cleaning lady appears and tries to entre my room to strip the beds!!! we could not believe it i physically had to stand in the door way to stop her from entering, telling her no !! I am sure that she would have stripped the bed around my daughter leaving her with no covers.

I know that some people will read this review and think that i am a whingeing [---] but in all honesty i never really complain about anything.

To sum it up i would go to santorini again it is beautiful, kamari is lovelly. I dont think that the island is particullarly a family holiday place and is not really geared up for kids at all, but if you want to explore the island as a couple it's great.

We would definately not stay at the arion bay hotel ever again.
