“NOT FOR YOUNG GROUPS OF PEOPLE”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014

As I have already mentioned in the title - this hotel is not for young people who are looking for a place to stay on their girls/lads holiday.

Myself and 6 other girls, all from Manchester, stayed here from 7th July-14th July 2014. I had already read reviews about Tassia Studios therefore I already had an idea of what it was going to be like but I went in with an open mind as everyone has different opinions on what is 'good' or 'bad'. There is no reception whatsoever, the reception is just wherever you decide to sit upon arrival. Without warning, he asked us for €25 as a deposit for the room. Even though it isn't a great sum of money, it took us by surprise because we were not aware of a deposit. After a small chat and looking at our passports, he led us to our rooms.

We did not realise this up until around the 3rd day, but males and females are split into blocks. Yes, there is a 'female/family' block and a 'boy' block. As there were 7 of us, we were given 2 rooms which slept 2 and 1 room which slept 3. Before being allowed into our rooms we were given a set of rules. ***FOR ANYONE WHO IS GOING ON HOLIDAY WITH THE INTENTION TO PULL AND TAKE ANOTHER PERSON BACK TO THE ROOM, EITHER RETHINK YOUR HOTEL OR TRIPLE YOUR HOLIDAYS SPENDS BECAUSE THE OWNER CHARGES €200 FOR A PERSON TO STAY IN YOUR ROOM WHO IS NOT STAYING IN YOUR ROOM*** He told us that we were not allowed to get ready together, that we had to get ready in our rooms and that the communal area was by the pool or at the bar.

As well as the room rules, no balls are allowed in the pool and there should be no noise after 12. Being loud is not tolerated whatsoever, Kostas' eyes and ears are everywhere.

When you come in after a night out, you are greeted by a very very moody security guard who follows you up until you are met by another security guard who ensures that boys do not carry on towards the girls block and visa versa. Whilst on holiday we met a group of 11 lads, and when Kosta realised that 2 of the girls were in their room, he was not best please and they were told to leave the boy's rooms. On another occasion, after an afternoon at Pure - Gaz from Geordie Shore's club, the lads came into our room to see what time we were going out and where we were going. After conversing with the boys for approximately 3 minutes, Kosta stormed into our rooms, kicked the boys out of our room and demanded that we all pack our suitcases this instance because we were no longer welcome in the hotel and that we had to leave in the morning. So because we had males in our room for 3 minutes, he decided that he needed to kick us out. After grovelling to the owner and being spoken to rather disgustingly - asking for an apology, so we apologised only to be told that he didn't want our apologies and that he didn't want us in the hotel at all, we were allowed back in. After this, it changed the atmosphere of our holiday completely because we were no longer allowed to play volleyball or even catch whilst around the pool or in the pool, we had to get ready to go out separately and when entering the hotel after a night out, we didn't speak to each other until the morning because we didn't want to be given more reasons as to why we were being kicked out.

The rooms are not in any way dirty, however they are not sparkling clean. On arrival, the rooms could not be faulted, however as the week went on, I noticed the slipping standards of the maids. On the second day, we went to a Zoo party where I had my face painted to look like a giraffe. When getting into bed, I managed to get a small amount of paint on the sheet and that sheet was not changed until the Friday, therefore I am 100% sure that the maids do not change the sheet every day, not even every other day. As well as the bed sheets, the towels were changed every 2-3 days as well and the floors were definitely never cleaned.

As for the location, it is about a 30 minute walk to the strip, which doesn't sound too bad, but imagine the heat and being exhausted from the night before, it isn't an easy walk. On the first day we decided to see for ourselves how long the walk is, therefore we walked into the strip and back to our hotel and it was not a walk we made again. A taxi from the hotel to the strip was only €6, so when split between 3/4 people, it really doesn't make much difference to your spends.

Food and drink is very cheap out there, many bars and restaurants do a deal where you can get a main, a dessert and 2 drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, for €10. We always had breakfast at the hotel because it is cheap. €1.50 for toast, €0.60 for 500ml of water or €1.50 for 9L of water.

We flew with Thomas Cook, and on the day we arrived, we met a rep who sold us a package deal for the whole week. It cost us €164 which does sound like a lot of money to spend, however it was the best decision we made. It was out first time in Zante, and we had no idea which bars were good and which weren't and which events were a must.

Our BeZANTE package:
Monday - day - Nothing
- night - Geek night bar crawl (given free braces, shirt and glasses)
Tuesday - day - Life's A Beach - chill on the beach and free barbeque
- night - Zoo party (2 hour free bar) and tickets to ZanteLive - Wretch 32
Wednesday - day - Waterpark
- night - Paint Party (2 hour free bar) - (given free t shirt to protect clothes)
Thursday - day - Nothing
- night - Traffic light party at sizzle (2 hour free bar)
Friday - day - Nothing
- night - Foam party
Saturday - day - Boat party (1 hour free bar)
night - Nothing

Overall, the hotel itself is nice, the location is too far, and the owner is very strict and will get on your nerves. Zante was a brilliant holiday and I would go back there now if I could, but I would not return to Tassia Studios even if I was paid.

I have just returned from a 10 night stay at Tassia Studios.

I was in a couple i'm 24 and my girlfriend is 23.

The main thing when you go to this place is you have to remember that Tassia is an entire families livelihood.

If you respect the place you will be treated with respect and even more.

I had to say that first.

If you are travelling in a young group and are there for the party this may not be the place for you. As stated in previous reviews it is possibly the furthest hotel away from the strip & beach front. Not too mention there are a few simply but respectful rules in place such as if you are stopping in a room you must only be within your own room, what ever you do don't get caught in each others room.

Right now onto my experience...

Kostas is really nice bloke! he will talk to you anyway and is always in a good mood. The rest of the family are really pleasant as well. But Kostas is the main man!

The pool is lovely and of a good size, it is not too deep so if you have kids they will be fine.

The rooms themselves are fine, they aren't 5 star but if your going here your no expecting that. they are clean and roomy and all have great balcony's.

The pool side bar is great and prices aren't bad at all. The food is good. what you would expect from a pool side bar.

We had several lunch's and breakfasts here however we didn't eat here at night.

As previously stated in reviews it is one hell of a walk to the front. I would say at least 30-35 minutes walk so if I was you I would do what we did and set aside a taxi fund.

We budgeted to two 6 euro taxis a day, we did walk it a few times to save money. unless you want to go to the beach front every night you may be alright to walk. about half way you get to a decent side road (it has Ionian Car Rental on the corner) with loads of lovely restaurants and bars on we went down there a few nights and did the beach the other times.

You have to go to beach front restaurant X-Paradiso its really lovely! See my latest review and photos on trip advisor.

You must also arrange to go Dennis Taverna in lithakia, there is a poster in the pool bar. they come and pick you up and take you back after your meal for free saving at least 20 euro in a taxi. This place is set above the Olive Oil vineyards. Its a traditional Greek tavern completely family run with exceptional food between here and X-paradise we had some excellent meals!

We did two trips:

The first is the one everyone does and you have to do it, its the boatrip to see the logger head turtles and two swimming stops its a 3 hour trip, we paid 18 euro each and it was worth it completely you have to do this if you are visiting Zante. after all it is the turtle island!

Trip two was to zante town or zakynthos town, this was 9:30 - 1:30. it was nice just to walk around and see there town without many tourists a different experience to laganas.

-------------------------Cameo Island--------------

You have to visit cameo island its 4 euro to on the island but you get a free drinks voucher so you get half you 4 Euro back!

its a lovely place a private island just off the coast of laganas you get to it by going to the far right of laganas beach by the harbour and walking the bridge over to the island.

-------------------------------------
One minor thing if you get the chance to kill that bloody roaster in the field next door do it for me!

He loved a cockadoodleloo at 4am! several times he was there looking at me through the fence at 4am mugging me completely off!

we had the ground floor to the far right next door to the field.

-------------------------------------
A couple of tips with Tassia.

Ask for an extra pillow!

Ask for the TV remote you get English TV after 9, I often went to sleep with the TV on.

Put aside a Taxi fund as the walk is a killer!

Any questions welcome ask away I will response quickly.

Room Tip: All rooms seem the same. Ask for an extra pillow! Ask Kostas anything he will help you!

Costa's, Dimitri & Family ensured that our holiday was one to enjoy, to relax and unwind, which is what a holiday should be all about. They have rules and it ensures that everyone can enjoy their holiday safe in the knowledge that misbehavior will not be tolerated. The accommodation is kept clean daily by the maids and it is maintained to a high standard.

You are only a taxi or bus ride from the main resort and this ensures you and other guest are not disturbed by any individuals taking advantage of the nightlife in the centre of Laganas. Equally, Costa's and the family welcome you warmly into their apartments and ensure that the restaurant is very reasonably priced for drinks and food during the day and at night. We really enjoyed our stay and were made to feel very welcome and a significant number of guests had returned several times or more..

For extra piece of mind the 32 apartments have security at night, although to be honest they do not appear to be needed as the facility is very quiet. Thank you to Costa's and his family

Room Tip: Chose a room that is facing the pool, if possible as it is cooler through the night

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday with the most friendly, fun and obliging family, I have just returned from a week with kostas and his wonderful family and wouldn't hesitate to go back over and over again it was a wonderful week. Tassia is the place that everyone should try 10 out of 10

Our one week surprise visit to an old friend working in Greece, decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle as we long left the teenage years behind. Great loaction for some peace and quiet, as longs as you dont mind a few roosters, babies and dogs!

Anyway.. the pros and cons. .

Pros:
1- location not to far not to near. 25min walk to strip. 6euro taxi ride.
2- family run, young Kostas (14) very friendly.
3- fairly basics but has all you need and extras if you ask (some at a price e.g WIFI!)
4- cheap food and drinks.

Cons:
1- strick rules slammed as you walk in the hotel, the room and..everywhere! If you make friends, dont Invite them for a tea or stronger in your room, this is forbidden and Kostas (elder) will chase you down the strip on his green ped' shouting his rules kirb side!
2- No wifi
3- if you go for dinner and come back late, be sure to be quiet or the 'security guards' will bang on your door waking up the entire hotel telling you to stop talking.
4- stingy on electricity. If you get up in the night and turn the lights on you may experience another rude knock on the door to stop wasting electricity!

All in all, I wouldn't stay again or even recommend to anyone but for what we paid I guess we got last minute. Just dont get your hopes up on this one, out first 4 days perfect last 3 were pure suffering after a draining rule enforcement operation (did I mention kirb side)

Enjoy!

We just got back from our honeymoon here. Kostas is an absolute star. Everyone who works at the hotel are warm and friendly and go out of their way to help you. It's a good walk to the beach and strip but it's peaceful because of that. We hired quads and got out and about and some of the places we found were fantastic!! Highly recommend the quad and can't wait to go back to see Kostas and the gang!

Me and my friend both aged 18 stayed here for 11 nights, 25th August - 6th September. When you first get there you are greeted by Kostas the owner who checks you in (there is no reception so you just sit by the pool) then he leads you to your room and then for about 10 minutes gives you dos and don'ts which is not what you need when you have been travelling for hours. We were put in the back block of the apartments which was the best place to be because we were worried after readin the reviews we werent aloud music on loud which is a complete lie as we had ours on as loud as possible every night until half 12 when we went out and also about having people in each others rooms he didnt seem to mind either as we were always in and out of the girls room who we met there and had drinking games on the balcony he just told us to keep it down when it got to midnight which is understandable as their are older guest there too. He asked for a 20 euro deposit each incase we wreck the room which is understandable, we got ours back at the end of the hol. One thing about the apartment that there are chickens next door that make noise in the morning when your hangin is not good and all you wanna do is sleep. If you treat kostas and his business with respect he wont bother you.

The walk to strip is quite a walk half an hour tops but that's alright cus you will be drunk and we met friends in the hotel so we would walk down with them. We did order a taxi down a few times which is 6 euros for where ever you want in the strip. You can just get Kostas to ring you one. On the first two nights we were walking back but we didn't after we watched a girl get there bagged robbed by gypos on a quad so always get a taxi back unless your in a big group. What every time you get in kostas or his dad (it was mainly his dad) will wait up for you untill you come in, you can leave you room keys with them incase your like me who ends up loosing something every time you go out so its handy! Kostas wont let you bring anyone back only guest of the apartments are aloud in so that is a big no no.

The rooms are clean, but the problem we had were the towels and bedding werent getting changed everyday which we werent use too. Also I dont think the floors were mopped everyday either as when i got out the shower my feet would be black in five mins, so went for thousands of makeup wipes to clean my feet everytime they were black. The showers abit dodge though its quite small and you get water all over the bathroom so we mopped every time we showered. There are plenty of hangers in the wardrobes so you dont have to bring any. Too save money to make the holiday cheap as possible we brought super noodles and stuff like that and there are basics to cook it in too.

The walk to beach is an absolute mission expecially in the heat so i would advise to get a taxi down which is 6 euros, we would always go to cherry bay to get a sun lounger its free wifi free sun lounger if you buy drink or food which was good. We walked back from the beach everyday about 6 or 7pm so it was fine too walk in and the walk seemed to be easier everytime.

Its a lovely place to stay the people we met young and old and kostas and his family made our holiday just a shame its abit further up the strip than we would of preferred but we had an amazing holiday!!
