“8 18 year old lads ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

Wouldn't listen to bad reviews if aged 18-30. The rooms were very clean and new towels and sheets provided every 3 days. About 15-20 minute walk from the strip but that feels like nothing when you stop off at a few bars on the way.

The pool was good in the day, good music but the drinks were way overpriced. 1 koppaberg cost 5 euros at the pool bar, but down the road at the corner shop 1 euro 80. This was the same with other drinks, the food was well priced for the portion sizes. Spirros the pool bar owner didn't let you bring your own drinks in if he did he threatened to make you leave the pool. We brought it up with the manager and for the last two days he said we could take our own drinks round the pool.

Leo the rep introduced his self to us on the first day and told us what events were on but didn't bother seeing us after that.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat I recommended apollon next the shop, the staff were ace and they serve proper vodka unlike all the chemicals down the strip (drink bottled beer) also the food was spot on with a good deal.

Angellos the night time receptionist was such a nice guy he would always tell us stories and could have a laugh with him.

If you want to do events I would recommend searching for them yourself, you will have plenty of reps approach you down the strip that's the best way to book them.

Recommend clubs cocktails and dreams, oceans (opens at 5am), zeros, cherry bay.

Events VVIP boat party, white party depending on who's playing

If you're a group of lads that like football it's inevitable that you will spend a lot on the penalty games down the strip, so addictive and all you win is a bottle of champagne worth 2 euros.

Me, my twin sister and two other friends who are all 20 stayed here in the last week of June 2014 for a girls holiday, we had two rooms. We weren't really sure what to expect as there is a fair amount of mixed reviews on here and honestly ignore all the bad ones, it was perfect for what we wanted! Each person has to give a 25 euro deposit when checking in for the rooms, which unless you completely trash and break everything in the room you should have absolutely no problem getting back. It cost 20 euros to get a safe and 35 euros to keep one room on the last day. When we arrived the shower in our room didn't work, we told reception and they fixed it in less than a day which we were impressed with. The rooms are basic, but are cleaned every day so that's all that matters really! You don't come to Zante to sit in your room all day so as long as it's clean then that should be the main thing. The pool area is really really good! Always plays music, the pool is clean and the bar around the pool is amazing, serves food and drink which I thought was well priced. You can get a decent sized English breakfast for 4 euros! The whole vibe the hotel gave off was very friendly. Angello who does the night shifts at reception is THE BEST!! Every night we would come in and he would tell us amazing stories, the sweetest guy ever! We went through Thompson and our rep Leo was a really nice guy, we did Zante Live, the paint party and the full moon party which were all really good! We did an event on the first night which we thought was a good idea as you get to know the strip and where you are going. To be honest, the hotel is probably just that tiny bit too far away from the strip, but there are so many amazing pre strip bars such as Glamour and Mojito where you can get some really good drink deals which you can't get on the strip, and the walk doesn't seem far when you're drunk anyway! We got a taxi back most nights which cost 6 euros, so spilt between 4 is so cheap it's not worth walking back, and the drive takes less than 2 minutes so the distance doesn't end up bothering you. Also, there are three really close 'corner shop' like places right next to the hotel, which are so handy for big bottles of water, drink and food. All in all we absolutely loved Zante and Hotel Karras was a really good and enjoyable stay!

Do not come here if you are couple/family looking for a quiet holiday as everyone staying in this hotel are young and you will get woken up every night by drunk teenagers!!!

My partner & I have just returned from a weeks stay in the Karras Hotel, upon arrival we were asked for 50 euros deposit, this is classed as a self catering apt, however it didn, t have a can/ tin opener not much to ask for, we went to reception to be told they didn, t have one and advised us to go and ask the pool bar man, we went to the supermarket and bought a bottle opener, the next day we went to lye round the pool when the pool bar man came up to us and threatened us saying if we didn, t buy something we would have to leave the pool as the beds were his prooerty, he was very rude and intimidating, we left immediately and went to reception who advised us this was not the case, she asked our room number and said she would speak to her manager, needless to say we never went back to the pool, the rooms are mainly for groups of teenagers who are very boisterous, they would play music very loud which didn, t bother us but what did was when they came in stupid oclock and start partying, we were woken in the early hours by youngers playing very loud music, shouting and screaming on two separate occasions we had to tell them to turn the music off and keep the noise down. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to the more mature presons or couples with young families.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less a/c unit noise.

I have just got back last night from staying at Hotel Karras with my Mam. I would stay in this hotel again simply to see Spiros (the pool bar man) again, he made our holiday. First off I would like to say if you are looking to be next to the strip, in a 4 star hotel with lots of comfort don't come here. I have no complaints because we booked a cheap holiday so I wasn't expecting much. Also I've been to Greece a few times and know what to expect of a 3 star hotel. My thought is you hardly spend any time in your room while on holiday, why be that bothered about it.

The reception staff were lovely, they always had a smile for us when we walked past. I thought the prices for the aircon and to keep the room on on our last day were quite cheap.
I've read a lot of bad reviews on here but I would ignore them it really isn't that bad. Your holiday is what you make of it so don't get too hung up on the room.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the strip so maybe if you're staying for a party holiday it might not be the place for you but if you want somewhere a bit removed from the hustle and bustle but near enough to walk to then stay at Karras.

One thing to note though, I would not use this hotel if you have young children as there isn't much for them to do. There is a children's pool but that is about it. There was a lovely family with a 21month old little boy who were told that the hotel had a play area which it does not.

Me and my boyfriend went stayed at this hotel last year for 2 weeks in august. this was my firs holiday abroad with no parents so when we first entered our room was a little unsure. our room was very basic and not the cleanest but to be honest you hardly spend any time in the room if your going to be going out and you start to ignore the little things that bothered you at first. we both really enjoyed our time here and would come back. however thwere were a few bad things we wish didnt happen-
had no hot water for first week
air con expensive
run out of loo roll every day
got checked out our room a day early had to pay for extra night

good things-
main location
brilliant pool and pool bar
music around the pool
bbqs around the pool
sell laughing gas around pool

overall would definatly come again zante is a great place!!!

Me and 5 other girls stayed in this hotel in august 2013. Our rooms were average, they had everything essential but nothing special. The shower was laughable it was so bad, but it was usable all the same, took twice as long to have a shower as it ran like a dripping tap. That was really the only bad thing about this hotel. The rooms were cleaned every day, clean towels and toilet paper were always handy, and they would leave us clean sheets too. The balcony's face each other as you can see in the photos so there was a lot of noise and interaction between other teenagers staying at the hotel.
The pool is awesome, always spare beds available, very quiet and hardly used. The pool snack bar on the other hand was ridiculously expensive. As they don't allow you to have your own drinks/food around the pool, one can of coke was 2.50 but the staff are really friendly. There is a shop right next to the pool, just down 4 or 5 steps which is cheap as chips for alcohol and noodles (Essential for Zante)
There wasn't many english people in the hotel, the majority of teenagers were foreign. It's about a 15/20 minute walk from the strip but taxi's are only 4 euros, they even used to let six of us in a 5 seat taxi. ( Horse and carriage are cheaper and absolutely hilarious when you're drunk for the way back, their are plenty available on the strip)
DO NOT BUY CHEAP VODKA or 'vodac' as labled on the bottle. This essentially ruined our holiday, if you're going to buy vodka buy bottled branded vodka. The cheap vodka made us so ill one of our friends had to go to hospital for 4 hours of oxygen and we were all coughing up green stuff all week.
The boat party is absolutely fantastic!!!! By far the best night of my life, there are no rules on this boat. Best bars were Barcode, the staff were amazing, paul and frankie <3 <3 Cherry bay is good but always packed and we went to Waikiki every night it was so good. G-spot have the fittest staff alive so get there if you fancy some eye candy.
The white party was rubbish in our opinion, we paid 30 euros for a ticket and left shortly after it started. The place and island was stunning but the music and people were a drag, the drinks were far too expensive for the size of them, 5 euros for a party cup of sex on the beach.
Going out for evening meals was great, for 15 euros you can have a 3 course meal and unlimited bar in practically any restaurant.
P.S laughing gas is amazing! It doesn't last long but it's so worth a try.
