Back from another week spent at our favourite hotel. Nice to see other "returnees". Weather was good and most of our time was spent poolside. As always food was excellent with good choices at all meals. All staff friendly and helpful at all times and the entertainment team are really good , the girls are always around but not "in your face" and they all take part in all the activities. They are good with all ages, children, olds and everyone in between. Took a trip to Zante Town and had a nice meal in Solomnus Square, a very good people watching spot. If you go during the daytime would also recommend a stroll along by the harbour to take a look a the days catch. Cab fare was reasonable but you can get a bus. Also had a coffee on the beach at Blue Waves, lovely spot just sitting and looking at the sea. Many bars and restaurants appear to have had a winter makeover . The hotel itself is close enough to all facilities for convenience but far enough from the strip for "comfort". As always the the family were lovely and welcoming. First visited when Marisia was a little girl and intend to still be going when she is a grandmother!

Room Tip: We like the garden annexe but have had really good reports of the family rooms.

My partner and I have returned today from 10 nights at the Margarita Hotel, the hotel itself is wonderful, spotlessly clean, the food is excellent, the pool areas set out perfectly, one for older guests another positioned at the rear for the younger clientele/families, sadly, for some reason, Thomas Cook are targeting the wrong kind of age group, 18-25 year olds screaming, banging room doors and playing music at 3am isn't what you need when you book a relaxing all-inclusive holiday. I understand it's a 'party' resort, so why do the travel company not advise these type of holiday makers to stay in a hotel better suited to their needs? Several guests complained and were told to see the rep, who in all honesty didn't seem to care and only seemed interested in gathering together the youngsters for nights out - commission based by the bars she took them too probably - resulting in them coming in at all hours disturbing our nights sleep. It's such a shame as the hotel really is top notch, we've met some lovely people here, but we all agreed that we wouldn't return or recommend because of the problems we had.

I stayed in Margarita Hotel from 4th May to 11th May and I'm already itching to book for next year!

When we arrived the weather wasn't great, but we wouldn't have minded given that the hotel is so fabulous!! It warmed up and was around 100 degrees Fahrenheit for the rest of the holiday!

After being mis-advised by Thomas Cook, my mum, stepdad and two younger siblings had been put into a family room that consisted of one small room and 3 beds, this would be ideal for some people, but not what Thomas Cook had promised us. Unfortunately, my sister, her partner and 2 children also had the same problem. Georgia, the Thomas Cook rep was amazing in trying to help them resolve the issue and get them moved in to the family block for an extra charge which we were happy to pay, but was having no joy from Thomas Cook themselves. My sister and her family were happy to stay as long as my mum was moved, but Thomas Cook still dragged their heels.

On day 3, the lovely Miss Margarita said they could be moved, with no extra charge out of the goodness of her own heart, and even moved my sister as well, she is a truly lovely lady, as is her husband!

The food in the buffet restaurants is to die for, loads of choice and always delicious! The pool bar also serves hot dogs, sandwiches and burgers through the day which are also brilliant, as are the staff Sylvia and Pedro!

The alcohol is local but really good, not watered down and George and Alex in the main bar serve very good measures of spirits!

Rooms are cleaned to an impeccable standard everyday and are lovely. The new family block rooms are especially wonderful!

There are two pools, (three if you count the baby pool), one over 16's quiet pool, and a more lively pool with a fair sized baby pool. Sunbeds were never an issue and we never had problems getting enough for our party of 10 even late morning.

Shops are close, cigarettes are cheap and price marked so there is no haggling which I really liked, for those who smoke its 3 euros 90 cents for 20 genuine Lambert and Butler, and 39 euro for a sleeve of 200. The allowance you can bring back is 16 sleeves.

The resort was relatively quiet and familt orientated, and there were strict rules on noise after midnight, those who were complained about would get written warning and if there were any other issues they would then be asked to leave.

The entertainment staff, Sophie, Michelle and Lottie were LOVELY! and always around for a chat! :)

The icing on the cake was when we left the hotel, a member of staff got on the coach and wouldn't let it leave because they couldn't find our towels from our room (they were on the balcony drying). We explained and she took our word for it and let the coach leave. To our surprise, whilst checking in at the airport the lady, accompanied by Sophie, turned up with a bottle of wine, she'd found the towels and couldn't let us leave without apologizing!

In short, I LOVE THE MARGARITA! Cant wait to return next year, I'd advise everyone to book!

Room Tip: I stayed in 317 and there was a lovely pool view, but pay the extra for the suites, really worthwhil...

Having been originally booked into another hotel for this holiday, we were at first a little disappointed with Thomas Cook to not be staying there. However, the switch could not have been anything but for the better! We loved this place.
On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and checked into our clean, twin room with relative ease and very little stress. This was followed by the fresh all inclusive food service (that for an all inclusive service you can have very little/no complaints about) and an evening entertainment programme provided by the excellent TMC team of Sophie, Michelle and Lotty.
The next- and following days- were all spent in and around the pool area where you could order snacks and drinks from the pool bar throughout the day, aswel as having the inclusive meal times inside the actual hotel. There are two swimming pools at the Margarita, both of decent size, and bearing in mind it's early in the season, we couldn't really complain about the temperature of the water either. It did begin to warm up nicely as the week progressed though, making for a slightly more pleasant entry into the water itself.
The food at this hotel was very good. The freshly grown salad prepared for every meal was very welcome and with many varying cooked dishes to choose from, its not hard to find something different to eat each day- even for those with a fussy appetite! Dessert also serves a good variation, being able to choose between 4 flavoured ice creams to fruit or cake based desserts.
The bars also provided a very good range of alcoholic to soft drinks for you to choose from and allow you to get multiple drinks in one go- which is sometimes an issue with an all-in hotel.
The staff at the hotel starting from reception to bar staff and cleaners are all very polite and obliging to make you feel welcome and cater for you. They're all happy for you to know them by their first names and will happily interact with you all day long.
The rooms are fairly basic (although fitted with a tv, safe box and fridge) but kept to a very clean standard with frequent towel changes. Bearing in mind you only go to the room to sleep, shower or change, the room serves its purpose well.
The hotel does offer 3 computers with access to the internet for a small charge, but does not offer Wi-Fi. This is ok for some people that wish to get away and not use the internet, but in the modern world, simple things such as Wi-Fi are something which can determine a guest staying in a hotel or not. I wouldn't go as far to say its a complaint of ours, but its definitely a strong recommendation.
The hotel itself is just a short walk off the main Laganas strip. This makes it an excellent choice and location as you are far enough away from it to not be disturbed, but close enough to walk there and visit the many bars and shops without any real effort.
The Thomas Cook rep for this Hotel was Georgia, and she was very welcoming, and even made frequent visits to poolside to check if she could help us in any way and that everything was as we would want it to be. It's important to be able to connect with your rep and be able to inform of any problems, and Georgia (even though we had no problems at all during our week) made us feel comfortable to disclose any information toward her.
I have to mention last- and by not means least- the excellent work and effort of the Hotel's entertainment team consisting of the lovely Sophie, Michelle and Lotty. From the first day, right through the week, they were simply amazing. Starting with a welcome service at breakfast for guests, and continuing throughout the day with dry games such as killer darts or pool, Boules and quizzes, to water games such as aqua splash, lilo racing, water polo and volley ball. All games were run very well and aimed at the whole audience- meaning that you could have children, adults and OAP's all featuring together, rather than isolating a specific age bracket. This really helps build communication between different hotel guests that you wouldn't necessarily converse with. The afternoons also included a children's hour which I'm sure many parents found very useful to gain an hours respite from their children whilst poolside! This was by no means the last actions of these three ladies though, as they then provide evening entertainment for the hotel kicking off at 9pm with a kids disco and leading on to cash bingo and further entertainment such as; karaoke or quizzes and games until 11.30pm (and beyond on occasion). I have to say that without their great efforts, friendliness and attentive nature towards guests, we would not of had as good a holiday as we did. They are an extremely hard working and deserving coup for the Margarita Hotel.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Margarita Hotel to anyone!

Firstly ignore anything prior to 1st May 2014*
We arrived to a new rep (Georgia)and new kids club animation team (Sophie,Michelle and Lottie)
The reception and check in was really friendly, hotel was lovely and clean, Rooms : we had a double and twin beds, air con avail if needed, hairdryer and safe key avail from reception.
The food was lovely, always something you could eat and when my 4 year old didn't fancy anything at the evening meal she had cereal for supper kindly arranged by George the barman.
You get allocated your table number on arrival and this is your table for the week for every meal, which is great as no matter what time you go down you always have a seat.
Breakfast was 8-10, lunch 12-2 and Dinner 7.30-9, kids mini disco at 9.15pm followed by Bingo and then in house cabaret/show or quiz. Activities throughout the day around the pool such as darts/bowls/quiz/aqua fit/kids club 3-4pm, the girls did really well in their first week of planning and taking over from previous reps.
We arrived slightly too early in the season as the weather was a touch overcast and not a lot was open in Laganas. The beach was quite a walk away from the resort. We booked for the turtle trip but unfortunately this was cancelled due to the bad weather, they did give us a refund :)
Overall this was a lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, Sylvia and Pedro at the pool bar served snacks from 11-6, ice cream was only inclusive for the kids at this bar.
I would def return but have been advised not to during July/Aug as the place gets over run with 18-30's who take over the hotel and keep a lot of people awake throughout the night and very busy/noisy through the day, we were only disturbed one night as the hotel got busier but wasn't a huge problem.
Have to add that Sophie, Michelle and Lottie were amazing and they made our kids holiday, they played and entertained and went all out to give the kids a fab time, well done girls :) xx

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be nice, we stayed in the family block
