Before booking our Holiday we always check on Trip advisor as we do not trust the Travel agents recommendations. Unfortunately Trip advisors reports are not necessary true as they have to depend upon the type of holiday maker and their age.. My wife and I are both in later years and were not aware that Zante is now another Ibeza where the average age is between 16 and 21 . The majority of these Holiday makers are just out for a good time and would not know a good hotel or good food . The reports from trip advisor showed this to be a four Star rating . The hotel is nice and the rooms are extremely good but that as far as it goes. The Hotel is situated a long way from the beach and therefore most people stay around the hotels pools. When you get to the beach it is crowded . Having spent the whole day on the beach who wants a long walk back to the hotel. Food despite what others have said it is not good and quite restricted. I know of two times when they had Pork ribs on the problem being if you did not get there early and they went they were not replaced so being late meant you went with out. Salads were plain and if you liked spaghetti then that was fine. Why you should go to a Greek island to eat spaghetti is beyond me. Service - This is a family run hotel but does not excuse the lack of service. There are no pool towels Sundays there are no beds made and no cleaning of the room. Toilet paper has to be put in a bin beside the toilet as the system can not cope with flushing toilet paper. Although termed as all inclusive The late poolside bar closes at 11.45 .
Linen is only changed twice weekly . This is not what you would expect from 4 star and just goes to show that when you take account of trip advisor reports they should also include the writers age as most of them just dont know.
Being a family run hotel the family quite often took meals in the dining room and it was bad policy to show that they ate different and better food than they gave their guests.

Room Tip: Unable to comment as we only had one room and this was good

This hotel has to be one of the better ones in the whole of Laganas.
Pool areas are good, there are two to choose from. We chose the one at the front to ease our hangovers.
Room was spacious and we had a fridge, which was a god-send! Friends were not happy about the comfort of the bed, but i had no issues.
Day one, we bought the 'Be Zante' package... with all the parties & bar crawls. 165 euros, and was on some levels worth it, but also not.
Bar crawls started at half 8! and we were in an all inclusive hotel, so being dragged to grotty bars & being forced to down my drink was not brilliant. Unless this is your first holiday away from mum& dad, (not in my case) only book the things you want to actually do... the reps were intoxicated plonkers, heaven forbid someone got into trouble, they would not be able to help you.
Food was good, good selection. Sometimes cold, but i've had worse.
I did however end up being very poorly, not sure from what or where... but pack medicines for all kinds of sickness.. other people have come home & also been the same from Zante. So please be careful.
Overall, a brilliant girls holiday. Location is very good, out of the way from the main strip. Not near the beach, but the 'beach' has much left to be desired so i wouldn't worry too much!
Go to Mojito's for pre-drinks, staff are all lovely. and cocktails are to die for.
Also, learn to say no. If you walk down the strip you will get dragged left & right being told 'this bar is the best... unlimited drinks for 7 euros' - if you value your internal organs or it sounds too good to be true, it is. Go to Zero's - another brilliant place. And Rescue Bar. - legendary places, next door to each other.
Sad to have seen the end of a brilliant week.

Room Tip: Ones near the reception are nice & Spacious with electronic door keys

myself an two of my friends stayed here for a week as from the 3rd july! we flew out from Birmingham and arrived very early on the 4th! the transfer from the airport to the hotel was a matter of 15 minutes on the bus, which was great because we had night flights so wanted to get to the hotel as soon as possible! we arrived at the hotel an were told where are rooms were.. rooms seemed lovely and clean but basic but had the added benifit of a safe and a fridge. the bathroom wasn't as clean as we would of expected as the toilet seat was stained yellow and there was a smell coming from the drains now an again which wasn't pleasant . the food was lovely! as being all inclusive i did expect a bit more variety. the bar outside by the pool was lovely an served lovely snacks throughout the day. the drinks were served out of bottles an were warm but if you got them from the bar inside they were cooler.. there wasn't much alcohol variety and they were very watered down.. there was one drink which we all loved.. ask for the 'alex special' the staff were all friendly and polite an made us feel very comfortable. a night out on Laganas strip was absolutely amazing! what an experience it was! we had such a good night out! especially in cocktails an dreams , three lions and linkers! there was also lovely beach bars with wifi and little cocktail bars which was lovely! if there was one thing that the hotel needed was wifi! the computers were okay but you would put your money in an sometimes loose half of the time by the time it had loaded to whatever you were trying to get on.the pools were lovely! could not fault them one bit! we stayed mostly in the pool at the back with the bar as there was music playing and was abit more atmostphere as the one at the front was quiet an not as private! we never booked anything with georgia the thomas cook rep as we felt we didnt want to be pressured into anything, an as the week went on we met some lovely people an they felt like they had been ripped off and not been told 100% what was happening for example they were going on a geek sheek bar crawl an turned up in there clothes but wasnt told it was fancy dress and had to buy something themselves which i thought was very unfair on them as it was an expensive thing! when we were talking to Georgia it came across to us like she was making the prices up herself as she would write something then scribble it out an write something more expensive.. the last day we were there we were told to give up our room by 11 oclock but we wernt flying till 4.30 the next morning so we had no where to shower an leave our cases which left us to be out of our room for 14 hours.. luckly we payed to keep our room on an just sat in the lobby before our bus picked us up.. i thought that was unfair as its trying to rip more money of us.. all in all we might stay here again if somethings were changed but appart from that we had a lovely week away.

This hotel has got to be one of the best hotels in Laganas, it's not to far from the strip but is a nice enough distance to not be disturbed by the noise, the staff who run the hotel are all excellent. Margarita and Tony are both so nice and welcoming, Marisa and Vicky who work on reception are also a good laugh and are always happy to help! George on the bar is also great! The room we had in the hotel was really nice with the beds being nice and the rooms being clean! However any problems where easily sorted by the staff. Sophie and Lotty the entertainers have got to be the best thing introduced to this hotel since sliced bread. They are more like friends than entertainers and are willing to have a laugh and also help if you need them. The constant energy they have is something which is also good as they are always nice to everyone! They make the hotel what it is with the daily quiz and the karaoke! Georgia the rep is another good thing about this hotel as she is always there to have a laugh with and find out about the local area, meeting with both us younger guests and the families in the hotel!

Well done to all the staff in the hotel! I will definitely be coming back to visit very soon!

Mybfriend and I stayed here for 1 week beginning the 12th june. We flew out of birmingham and arrived very early on the 13th. We were shown to our room which was basic yet comfortable with the added benefit of a fridge.

The food was mostly lovely including the outdoor snack bar however the drinks were unvaried and boring. The fizzy drinks were served warm from bottles and weren't branded and you weren't allowed to mix drinks incase it became a cocktail. The staff serving food and drinks were mostly amicable.

Laganas itself is an experience. Something I probably wouldn't repeat again but the beach and some of the bars were lovely. I would recommend republic beach bar 100% the staff and surroundings were excellent.

The pools were lovely. We avoided the childrens pool purely because of the noise and stayed at the adults pool. Unfortunately some of the older guests would tut and moan if younger guests were at the pool. One elderly guest berated me and my friend for listening to our ipod on half volume and proceeded to tut and moan and tell us to use headphones despite singing along at full volume to her own music. I would like to point out that we aren't rowdy teens at 26 and 32 and certainly don't expect to be treated like children whilst on holiday. This was often the case at the hotel being told to shush on late nights even when speaking normally. Its a shame they couldn't extend the same rules to the screaming children running up and down the corridor at 6/7 o clock in the morning.

We booked a couple of excursions with Georgia the TC rep. She was excellent when it came to taking your money or going out on the bar crawls but when it came to solving a problem we encountered she had the audacity to smirk and laugh in our faces pretty much whilst absolving herself of all blame and wandering off to sell her bar crawls to a group of teens before finishing with our complaint. Certainly less than professional.

Our last day was ruined partly because of TC but also by the hotel. We were made to leave our room at 10 before flying out the following morning at 6. We were told this is because our hotel room was saved from midday on the 12th. This is ridiculous seeing as we didn't fly until 23.35 on the 12th so basically paying for room/facilities we couldn't use because of being in the uk. Hotel staff were nice to begin with but when asked for towels to use the facilities became very stroppy and unhelpful.

All in I would not stay here again. I feel there are probably better hotels in the vicinity where the younger generation wouldn't be made to feel like children.

Just got back from a 4 day honeymoon break with my new husband. We booked it very last minnute and was told by the travel agent that the hotel was about 20 mins walk away from the main 'party central' strip and suitable for families.
We are so glad we took the chance and booked here. What a lovely, well run, friendly hotel the Hotel Margarita is!
From the food (which was faultless), the pool's (a chillout one and larger main one), the friendly staff, the clean, comfortable rooms and Sophie & Lotty (the entertainment girls who were brilliant), everything was spot on.
Yes, there were several groups of younger people staying at the hotel, but the vast majority were absolutely fine and no problem at all. There was the odd 'idiot' but any out of order behaviour was swiftly dealt with.
The only real downside was the charge of 6 euros for air conditioning per night. It was so hot and we really needed it, but on the last night when money was running low, we chanced it without. Big mistake! Had to open the door a touch as it was so swealteringly hot and was then attacked by the mosquitoes.
But overall, our experiance of Hotel Margarita was excellent and my husband is still chuffed at winning the darts competition!
