“Lovely holiday, great food!”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

First of all I must say that the food in this hotel is absolutely amazing, I never once had a bad meal. The staff were great and very friendly.

The beach is lovely and the sea is calm, clear and shallow so perfect for children. However you do have to pay for sun beds which I don't agree with, all inclusive should include beach sun beds in my opinion.

I stayed at the beginning of May so there was no outside entertainment shows in the evenings but the animation team did a great job on three evenings by putting on their own shows.

The weather was great, nice and warm but the pool was far to cold to go in for me and my children.

The rooms were cleaned daily which is good and a fresh bottle of water given. The only downside to my room was that we were given ground floor in the gardens and continuously had ants. My daughter is terrified of all bugs so this was distressing for her. We did complain and they did spray the ants but this didn't stop new ones coming in daily.

Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend it but if I stayed again id prefer to stay in the actual hotel which is where I assumed we would be when we booked.

Room Tip: Don't have a ground floor garden room unless you don't mind ants.

"Dear guest,

Let us take this opportunity to thank you for choosing to holiday at the Louis Zante Beach and for writing some lines about your stay.

It is lovely to hear that our prestigious property did not fail to impress you with its outstanding service, marvelous food assortment and well-appointed rooms. We are sorry that the appearance of some ants, despite our best efforts, caused your daughter distress; nevertheless we hope you understand that the natural setting of our hotel may seem attractive to insects from time to time. Our natural setting is also the reason why sunbeds are charged extra on the seafront; as you know we are on a protected turtle beach and due to this exceptional circumstance the local commune demands that we charge for its use.

We hope to have the privilege of welcoming you back to the Louis Zante Beach.

Best regards,

The Management "

This was our first holiday abroad with our daughter, who is 20 months. It was wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and clean, the staff are fantastic- very friendly and accommodating- and the food was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, my daughter enjoyed the food and made quite a mess whilst eating, but they didn't mind at all. The pirate ship and toddler play areas were a real hit and used many times a day. The beach was great- with shallow water for a very long way out- making it much easier for my husband and I to watch our little one playing without worrying. The rooms are clean and fresh and we were upgraded to a family room which was a nice surprise for us and made life easier. Mini disco was fab for the children but we didn't hang about for any other entertainment. Our only niggle was having to pay for the sun beds on the beach, this seemed a bit cheeky. We would happily return to stay here. Happy to answer any questions.

Great staff make this place, they are friendly and helpful always with a smile and a Parakalo. The hotel is on a lovely beach with free sun loungers around the pool and towards the beach area, and chargeable beds on the beach at 8 Euro for 2 beds and a parasol. To be honest, the beds just off the pool towards the beach are just as good and free. The weather right now is very chilly first thing and on an evening, so take a jumper and some trousers. If you intend on taking a boat cruise around the island then I would suggest a coat too. No turtles yet, too early so don't waste your money.

Food in the hotel leaves something to be desired if you want traditional Greek fayre. The closest you will come is the souvlaki and gyros they serve in the beach bar, which I highly recommend. The pizzas there are also divine and hand made by the chef. The bar staff in the beach bar are great too, really friendly. The main restaurant serves food according to its theme nights which include Middle Eastern, Cyprus, Italian and International. Sadly we missed Greek night as we arrived too late on the evening and departed the same day too early!

Drinks are freshly made cocktails, Zorba beer or red or white wine. The wine is drinkable just about, the cocktails were heavenly and mu husband said the lager was ok.

The room was in need of an update, the TV was ancient and hardly any signal and the remote did not work. The bed and pillows were very firm. The sink leaked a little and we did have a minor flood caused by the sink draining too rapidly, The sea view was lovely but don't leave your towel on the balcony as it will blow off (although the maintenance chap did retrieve it from the bar roof for us!)

The hotel is situated in its own grounds and right on the beach, but if you want to visit the town on an evening it is awkward as the beach is closed from 7pm due to the turtles nesting and the walk along the road is a bit hairy.

Animacion team obviously work very hard and are not the worst I have seen, very enthusiastic. There are 3 Romanians and a scottish girl working all the hours God sends, doing Zumba, beach volleyball, table tennis etc and then the evening spectacular. We caught the Michael Jackson tribute and it was very entertaining, it is worth a look just for the Thriller routine. As the season goes on I expect they will become more accomplished, but good fun!

The public areas are well maintained and spotlessly clean and the groundsmen do a great job. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day to a high standard and towels changed every day.

To sum up, the staff are fantastic, for authentic food I suggest the Olive Tree in Kalamaki, 6 - 8 euros in a taxi and superbly cooked traditional fayre. I would return without too many qualms.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be equal, request a sea view as most but not all rooms have this.

"Dear guest,

Let us thank you for holidaying at the Louis Zante Beach and for taking some of your precious time to write such a lovely review.

We are absolutely delighted to see that you had a fabulous holiday at our resort and that you greatly enjoyed our spectacular service. Furthermore we are extremely satisfied to see that you favoured our hygienic and clean premises, and that the majority of our dishes were to your entire satisfaction. We are slightly surprised that you felt there was not enough Greek food because we have a traditional corner at lunch indoors each day, featuring 4-5 local specialities. In addition, we celebrate a Greek-themed evening for dinner once a week as well as a Zakynthian night. As for your comments about our room maintenance, we thank you for pointing them out and we will make sure to follow them up immediately.

We are glad that despite some niggles you were able to thoroughly enjoy your stay at the Louis Zante Beach and hope to see you again soon.

Yours truly,

Just returned from Louis Zante Beach and thought I would share my opinion of our experience.....We loved every minute! The weather at the beginning of the week wasn't too great but we kept ourselves occupied playing tennis, pool and nice walks around the hotel, beach and out to the local town. The entertainment team were fantastic! Lovely guys and work very hard. Every member of staff I met were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was good and always plenty of choice. The hotel and our room was spotless and very well kept. Our room felt a little dated and didn't have the most comfiest of bedding but we hardly spent any time in our room so this wasn't a problem for us. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, if we were to return we would go a little later in the season to ensure nice weather. The staff and friendly, relaxed atmosphere of this hotel definitely made our holiday!

On behalf of the Louis Zante Beach we thank you for travelling to our lovely hotel and for writing some lines about your holiday.

We are extremely glad that you had a fabulous time at our lovely resort and that you enjoyed our attentive and professional service staff. Furthermore we are delighted to hear that our house keeping department did an exceptional job in maintaining the premises immaculate and hygienic. Regarding our bedding, it is unfortunate that you didn't request a mattress topper, for we would have been more than happy to provide you with one. These enable us to customize the sleep experience so please keep it in mind for a potential future visit.

It would be a great pleasure to welcome you at Louis Zante Beach again.

Just got back from Louis Zante Beach Hotel. What can I say, the hotel is fabulous. Food was excellent always cooked to perfection. Rooms cleaned every day. All the staff were so friendly, alway happy and nothing too much trouble. Animation team was by far the best we have ever seen. The hotel manager looked very stern but hey he has a job to do and he obviously does it very well because the standards were very high. We will definitely will be returning to the Zante Beach just hope the animation team and all the other staff we met will be there on our return. Thank you all for such a fab time, we have made some great memories.... Xxxxx

My partner and I went for one week all inclusive in October. It was the last week of the season and everywhere including the hotel was dead!!!

The food was OK typical holiday local food. The drinks were great, lovely cocktails but no matter how much we drank we could not get drunk!!????!!! Rooms were ok and cleaned daily.

The beach was lovely and only a few steps away from the hotel. The pool area cleaned daily, the staff tried hard to entertain guests through the day by playing darts, aqua aerobics and quizzes. However at night there was little entertainment! Just bingo every night and a little bit of music played in a CD player until 10. That's it!

Hardly any local shops or bars open as I said earlier, last week if the season! We would come back here but it would have to be at a better time where things are open.

Dear guest,

We would like to thank you for sharing your experience about your stay at the Louis Zante Beach with the online community.

First and foremost, we are delighted to hear that you agree with all other travelers about our excellent service and tasty local cuisine. Indeed Zakynthos is much more popular earlier in the year so perhaps it would be best to visit in the high season.

We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Louis Zante Beach.

Yours faithfully,

On arrival we were greeted by the smiling helpful staff after booking in we were shown to our room and our luggage was brought to us. The view from our balcony was looking straight onto the beach. How perfect is that! The range of food in the restaurant was very good it catered for everyone's taste. Costas the head waiter and his staff especially Theoni were all so friendly and helpful in fact wherever we were within the hotel all the staff were great. We had no problem getting around the island there are buses and taxis and reception were happy to organise our taxi for us and we found a visit to Zante Town a great place to explore with lots of shops and museums and places to eat.

Room Tip: A high level beach view was our wish which we got.
