Before this review starts I would just like to point out I got married here August 29th 2013. The wedding was perfect and will review it a bit later on and just wanted to say this hasnt made my review biast as its completely honestly my dream holiday.
Right myself, husband, son, parents, brother and his partner arrived on the 20th august 2013. After a quick transfer via coach we arrived at the hotel with a friendly greeting and fast check in. We were all assigned rooms in the main building so we went up to our rooms. We were disappointed with the rooms especially ours as it felt cramped for 3 of us to be in and I didnt think much of the view from the balcony which was a roof and tiny bit of greenery we did contemplate that because of arriving late at night things always looked worse but we were all on the same page with all 3 rooms so we did complain to reception who were extremely appoligitic and polite. They explained at the moment they are nearly full and only had 2 other rooms available in a block further in the complex being gracious I let my parents have one and my brother and his girlfriend the other. The receptionist then went on to say she will arrange for me to mewt rhe head of accommodation the following day to discuss getting me moved, happily we agreed and appreciated their efforts to resolve the situation with no fuss. After moving the rest of our party we all had a little walk and were told despite missing the evening meal there is a buffet every night in the lounge area if we felt hungry. The main bar had a huge variety of drinks for all inclusive guests including a huge cocktail list that we made
our way through a common fave being the zante special. The bar staff were all lovely and the wait to be served was never long. One english faviourt cocktail that was not on the menu was sex on the beach, we told the bar staff what was in it and they had no problems making it for us and within a few days of our holiday it had become popular and added to the menu. Inside the main lounge was a cool spacious and quite luxurious seating area with a row of computers that you could put a euro in and use for half an hour which we did to skype our friends on our wedding night that couldn't make it. *tip there is also a couple of massage chairs which are incredible and a must try* outside the lounge is a terrace with more seating over looking the surroundings all very very nice. Next day we went down to the pool and laid out some towels on a row of sunbeds the pool is basic shape bit the water becomes lovely as early as 11am in august. There is also a small square pool for babies and a bar with a self serve ice cream station. The staff are attentive here and do the job well as it was never untidy and the bar is manned at all times with a manager stepping in to help of it gets busy. Around this area you can also find the gym, hair salon and a games room with also toilets. *tip on the games room is the entertainments team room which is full of lilos, arm bands, snorkels etc all od which you can borrow for free you just have to bring them back after use* the main restaurant that serves
3 meals a day in a buffet help yourself form, was fantastic huge selection of everything at breakfast hours they have a delicious omelette station as well as pancakes and waffles that are manned and made to order by chefs inside you will find everything from fruit to cooked. Lunch you have the option to go down to the beach restaurant which again was buffet and had delicious salads, pasta, pizza and bbq on every day. The only down side aboht this lovely lunch hut was the amount of wasps around but it was such nice food that we ate here every day for lunch. Dinner time consisted of different theme nights again all delicious and there was always a kids area that everything kids love on it my son at the time was 18 months old and
quite fussy but he found something every meal time. The waiting staff who cleared plates etc for you were fantastically friendly and a couple of them got to know my son and made auch a fuss of him whenever they could he became fond of one girl working there and always had a huge smile for her. The staff always said hello and had a little chat with you which is such a nice touch. Back on to the room fiasco we met with the lady in charge and she asked what did we want in way of apology and as it was our wedding too would we like a sea view room or anything, we had a think and said that anything slightly bigger for our son would be nice and sure enough she found us by the pool later that day with keys to a new room and took us to see it. It was on the ground floor of a block facing the pool and right
next to the terrace. As soon as she opened the door we
were impressed although no different in interior it had a seperate living room plus rather than a balcony we had our own personal terrace complete with sun beds and a table with chairs and umbrella. We thanked her great fully and immediately moved our bags over and showed it off to our family.
It became perfect through out our holiday as our son had afternoon naps in his travel cot in the cool of the room while we enjoyed bathing on our terrace. Insode the hotelain arra you can find more toilets, the reps station who were ecery bit as lovely as other ataff amd a asian restaurant which you have to book in to eat and can only do so once a week we did eat here twice
during our holiday on the fish theme night as im not a fan of fish. It was nice and refreshing to have a change. Outside the hotel is a shop selling multiple things *tip the lady running shop doesn't mark things and makes prices up as she goes
along and also over charges for items incredibly. Of you go past the pool area onto the beach walk to your right and carry on for a short while then turn right on to the road there is a supermarket style shop which is larger and very cheap. We bought things from here daily including english newspapers and mags* the beach is right on the back of the hotel and is great for location yoj do have to rent sunbeds I believe it
Was 3 euros per a bed per a day which aint too bad and my son loved the beach area and could run freely. WARNING DURING AUGUST THE LIGHT SOFT SAND YOU HAVE TO WALK ACROSS TO GET TO THE SUN BEDS AMD SEA BECOMES VERY HOT AROUND NOON ONWARDS. One thing we were credibly lucky to experience was the birth of a nest of turtles on the beach beautiful it was. Nests are protected along beach with small barriers so keep vigilant to them. If you spend the day on the beach yiu are approached swveral times by what we took to calling "lucky lucky men" they walk up and down beach selling watches, purses sunglasess etc all replica of course but you can haggle them right down to a bargain
However if you are not intrested just say no thanks and they do leave you alone with no bother. Theres also asian women walking down offering massages my dad had one and said it was incredible. Through out nights there is entertainment by the pool area and kids club. One thing I didnt like was a family just outside on the beach edge selling flashy things and bubble guns I dont mind that but he kept sending his son in with items to the kids club obviously to wind other kids up to get parents to buy plus his little girl would walk around the tables with fake roses and if you said no to her she would pinch your face for attention and carry on hassling you. The staff were aware of his children but never told them to leave or stick to the area outside the hotel they obviously meant no harm but still found it annoying on a nightly basis . Zante strip is just a short walk from
the hotel and is full of pubs clubs and shops. We went on a boat trip which you can arrange on the beach at a stall further up. This is a must do as you get to see the coves and turtles swimming plus you stol on a beach strip that has a floating bar selling refreshments. On our second week my aunty and cousin arrived and were allocated to a room above us. They also loved each part of what I have said. Our wedding took place under a palm tree on the grounds which was perfect from start to finish the hotel supplied the service, flowers, cake and bubbly etc and I honestly couldnt of picked any where else it was magical. You
have a option to have your wedding reception at the hotel but what bride wants to stand in a buffet on her special day we witnessed a wedsing literally the day bedoee ours who did this and while it was right for them it wasnt for me plus we had other family members at the weddong who was not staying at the hotel but yoh can purchase day wristbands for them so they can use the facilities plus eat and drink there. We had our reception in a fab tavern on the beach called jiannis and it was amazing complete with traditional greek dancing. There is a water park trip which the hotel reps can arrange for you including travel as well as other activities. Lastly the animation team, they worked hard day and night putting on activities and performing shows as well as the kids club they were always friendly and the girls made a huge fuss overy son daily despite him being too young to join the kids club. All in all this was a perfect holiday and we cant wait to return hopefully next year
