Really impressed, we just came back from this lovely island and we loved it. The hotel is situated on the quieter part of Laganas so you can walk to the bars in 10 minutes or have a nice meal close by. Hotel was very clean and the staff were great. There was a variety of different people from different countries, but it was lovely. Pool is nice, kids area in the pool is good for kids. Rooms are very clean and good a good size for us (2 adults 1 child).

Overall we enjoyed our stay and wanted to say thank you to all the staff you were great and made our holiday. WIll definately return to the Anastasia Beach Hotel!

I went through the reviews on this site before I booked this hotel, and i must tell it was better than we had expected from the reviews. The location is the best in Laganas, walking distance to everything, (bars, night life, restaurants, supermarkets), but not in the noisy, busy area, and right on the beach.
The hotel is perfect for young couples, but good for families with small kids as well as seniors. During our stay the guests were a mixture regarding the age and everybody enjoyed their stay. The staff are friendly and the hotel is clean and well maintained. The food selection is moderate but everything is delicious. This hotel got some bad reviews due to the rooms on the first level, which is a kind of basement. I agree with those,I wouldn't be happy to stay there, but we were lucky to get a room on the third floor. We took some tour on the island, which is breathtaking with a lot of wonders of nature and if we come back again I would choose a less commercialized area than Laganas.

It was our first trip to Greece and Zante, and, before that, we searched a lot as to where to go. Among the options to stay on Zante we were offered several hotels and chose this one only because, as our travel agent said, it had good locations far from the main street of Laganas, that is quite noisy at night, very close to the sea and, together with that, not far from shops and tavernas. We visited their web-site but were very disappointed with it as it is made not very good and does not really shows this hotel in its real view, but, anyway, decided to go there thinking that anyway we will have no need to spend much time in hotel if it turns bad.

When we arrived to the place and were shown to our room we saw that this hotel was quite good and charming. We had room with window opened to the inner yard grown with trees and flowers on the second floor. The balcony was quite good except that if your neighbor is noisy, you can hear everything that he/she says when you and he decide to go out to the balcony and sit there with a bottle of wine.

Personnel are very friendly, will always answer all your questions and give you instructions. We learned how to greet them in Greek and always received very warm answer, including from the maid who cleaned our room. Particularly we liked woman in the buffet who always greeted everyone with warm and kindness, so it even felt that she does it with real sincerity. When we were leaving she wished us good flight and hoped that we would return again next year.

Room had everything you need (air conditioning, refrigerator, small TV, phone), however everything else must be ordered at extra cost. We rented safe (3 euros per day) and kettle (1 euro per day). The kettle was quite small and, the following day, we found it for 12 euros in a local supermarket, so, if it proved out that instead of paying 10 euros for 10 days of kettle use it would be better to buy one. Also they have Wi-Fi Internet (as far as I can remember it is 35 euros, but do not remember for what, either for week or for whole stay). Their "Internet cafe" is one PC that you can rent in the hotel lobby for 10 euros/10 mins. Maybe there was something or something was not, but we did not use it and were quite satisfied with what they offered. The only thing that we missed were wine glasses and some simple plates and dishes as we liked to spend evening on the balcony drinking local wine with sweets or some light snacks.

Breakfast was rather simple - eggs, omelets, cheese, sausage, bread, corn flakes, etc. Coffee, milk, juice (made from a concentrate, not fresh one), but it was quite enough anyway. Dinner which was served from 18:30 till 21:30 was quite good with rather wide (but not huge) selection of dishes. Always there were three various meats, potatoes, vegetables, etc. Of course all this was not as delicious as it could be in a real restaurant, but very tasty and, above all, it felt that all food was prepared warmth and love, so that we actually enjoyed it more than food in local tavernas.

We cannot say anything about local pool (not very big, as the hotel itself is not very big) and sunbeds next to it (free for the hotel resistants) as we did not use them preferring walking several hundred meters to karreta-karreta turtle beach (open only till 9 p.m.), or further to Krystal beach in Kalamaki or Agios Sostis. Beach that is adjacent to the hotel is very crowded and not very clean.

It was also very convenient that it was possible to use the phone that was located in our room to make calls with a prepaid phone card (could be born in a supermarket), which is almost 100 times less costly than using your cell phone.

The hotel was, for several very rare exceptions, very calm as, as we were told, it is located far from the Laganas main street. However, if you need to visit all local stores, supermarkets, souvenir shops it was not a problem as they all are located within 30 minutes walk from the hotel. But to buy water, a bottle of wine, bread a small supermarket that is 5 meters from the hotel was quite enough.

About the problem that some rooms in Anastasia are not that good situated I would say that it is quite possible. From what we saw I would say that rooms that are on the first floor have really bad location and I would like to live there, but this did not concern us as we were quite happy with our room.

Generally we very much enjoyed our stay in Anastasia, and were very happy that we, not knowing it, choose good hotel as we could compare on our flight back talking to other people who were returning from Zakynthos.

Well after a lovely holiday in Zakynthos last year I was looking to book in the Anastasia Beach Hotel again this year and stumbled across these reviews which are totally the opposite of what we experienced. Well we arrived in September last year and it was lovely. The hotel was very clean and the reception was beautiful, they had very nice bar on the veranda overlooking the sea. We were checked into our room and the rooms were very nice, we wanted a seaview room andthere was a charge to upgrade to a seaview room so we decided to upgrade. We were shown a seaview room and the rooms were exactly the same inside but we were having a romantic holiday so we upgraded. The rooms were a nice size with a nice balcony. The bathrooms were adequate and had a shower with a cabin.
We were on a Bed and Breakfast basis and the breakfast was actually very good. The hotel offered continental breakfast however it was much more than that. They offered scrambled eggs, quiches, and omeletes, poached eggs on alternating days and for side dishes they had sausages and bacon bits and hash browns. We were very impressed.
As for the facilities they were very nice, the pool area was beautiful and offered a lovely pool bar and the sunbeds by the pool were free. The only thing we thought was a bit dear was the sunbeds on the beach as the cost 8 euros per set. But that was all over the beach.
Location was great as we were about 500 meters from local pubs and the supermarket and taverns were all even closer. We enjoyed it as it was in the quieter side of Laganas.
I actually wrote this review as we have been to Greece several times and were impressed with this hotel and felt it was a shame that these people wrote these negative things. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone going to the Island. We attached some pictures and if you end up going say hi to the 3 turtles in reception!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we had been for a week in Aug 2008 in this hotel for our honeymoon. they give us the worst room, from its windows we can see only a wall, so that we must pay extra to get a better room ( only higther price room available) also they have nothing to eat, it was every day the same "meal": olives, tomates, cucumber, cheese and very bad wathermelone. the hotel is not bad but the services very very poor. they have a nice pool and a taverna, the beach is sandy and the water very good for swim. Is near to the careta careta turtle beach and you can make boat trip to the turtle's island.
I hope that somebodyelse manage the hotel now .

I have just came back from my holiday in Laganas and our stay in the Hotel Anastasia. We started our holiday with a 8 hour delay and instead of arriving at our hotel at 1.30pm we arrived at 12 midnight. I contacted the hotel on a number of occassions through there web site asking to be in a room with a sea view.
On arrival I was deeply disapointed to have been placed in a basement room with a view from the balcony of a flight of stairs. The room was very dark and the sheets on one of the beds were ripped, however they where clean sheets and the actual room was very clean. I have been to Greece on a number of occasions before so was expecting the hotel rooms to be basic, although from the good reviews from web sites i was expecting more than what we got. We decided not to make a fuss as we were both tired and discussed the fact that you don't spend much time in the bedroom anyway. All the rooms have air conditioning (at a extra cost of 4 euro a day) however our's didn't work very well!
The breakfast was very basic we had a choice of fried eggs, bread (not toast), butter, jam, bread rolls, chocolate cake, tomato, cheese & ham not much else. You could also help yourselves to tea, coffee and some kind of orange juice (tasted like orange squash). So we had breakfast down the road at Wild Bills for 2.50 you could have a massive fresh fruit salad or for 4euros you could have a huge fried breakfast. Apart from that the hotel was a great place, it has beautiful gardens and the staff are really friendly. I'm sure if we did complain they would have done anything to make us happy, prehaps if we had stayed longer than a week we might have. The Hotel is located right on a lovely beach, if you walk 10 mins to the right you end up at the main strip where all the bar's and clubs are. The beach as a few nice restaurants however be aware you pay for the view!! The pubs are all about the same price about 2.50-4 euros for a cocktail and around 2.50 - 3 for a bottel of Methos (greek larger) you pay about 4-6 euros for stella etc.. Large bottled water in pool bars and bars are really expensive 2.50+ so by from the supermarkets were you get it for 50 - 60 cent.
Always check your change and ask how much things are before you hand over money i got charged 4 euros for a cup of tea!
We also found that alot of places give you bread with your meal which you think is free it's not! You could also find an extra meal on you bill if your not sure about something ask! If you do eat out don't be shy to ask for something free when their trying to drag you off the street, there's so much competition you can usally get a free bottel of wine with you meal, free starters or money off. If your looking for a cheap sun holiday, with a 18-30 type resort then this is your place. If you got kids or your more mature then perhaps ask your travel agents advice on where else to go. All in all, it was ok for a week but wouldn't go back.
