When you get there you need to pay for everything. You need to pay for the safe, for the air conditioning and what's more we had to pay extra money to stay on the last night. We already paid for it in the booking. Furthermore they told us to wait outside for the transport an hour early so that they can go clean the room and go to sleep. But I've paid money to sleep on that night.
Swimming pool is awful and doesn't makes sense. There is no reception so when you come to the hotel and your friend got the key you need to wait for him to come.
I booked the hotel for 7 nights but only slept there 1 night. Otherwise I was sleeping in my friend's hotel which was much better.
Also the hotel is too far from the strip so you don't want to walk all the way back there in the early morning.
I might come back to Zante but not to this hotel.

Room Tip: Just don't go to this hotel

WOW!! We only found this gem of a place by chance but could not have picked a better, more friendly place in Zante.Take no notice of any negative reviews. From the first moment we met Elena, the owner,we knew this was going to be a super holiday.Nothing was ever too much trouble from the time you got up until the time you go to bed.Elena would always cook anything you asked for(except boiled eggs and soldiers) .We were made to feel part of Elena and Yanni's family.Make sure you try all day breakfast and mug of english tea.All rooms overlook large pool and well kept gardens.Only 5 people staying here when we stayed so had pool area and snack bar to ourselves and were like one big happy family. All in all we had a wonderful ,relaxing holiday and hope to be back soon x

Just back from a week at Borsalino. The first thing you notice is how friendly the owners Elena and Yianni are, and by the second day you're on first name terms with them, in fact you're made to almost feel part of the family. This is a small, intimate, family-run business, which makes for a friendly and most welcoming stay. There are 8 apartments, four ground-floor, and four a floor above. Spacious and equipped with cooking facilities and a fridge. The bathroom is essentially a wet room, the shower in the corner and warm water as and when you need it(though maybe not if you're an early riser!). Air-conditioning is provided, but is extra at 8 euros per day. I took a small electric fan which did the job just as well. A wall-safe is also provided, but again at extra cost, as you would expect. A small TV is included, but I could only find 2 channels, and they were both Greek, so don't expect to do much viewing. Apparently the satellite dish is either faulty, or not connected, but a TV is not something I particularly worry about at all. All rooms have a pool view with access out on to a balcony where a table and chairs are situated for your use. Security is good with a chain on the main door, and the doors on to the balcony are also secure. The pool is lovely with a perfect temperature, no doubt as a result of all that hot sunshine warming it from about 8 in the morning to almost 9 at night. Lots of sunbeds around the pool, so no need to worry about reserving your own. Pool is accessible up to 7pm every day. Breakfast is served by Elena each morning from 9am onwards, and you are individually attended to. A full English breakfast costs 5 euros and will keep you going for the rest of the day(served up until 2pm, if required). Just so you know, it comprises: 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 rashers of meaty bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, two slices of toast, butter, and jam, plus either coffee, tea or orange juice. Excellent value, I think you'll agree! A continental breakfast consists of two slices of toast, butter, jam, and your drink for 3.5 euros. The bar is fairly well-stocked, the local draught lager wasn't available during my stay, but plenty of cold bottles of Mythos lager were available at 2.5 euros a half-litre bottle, which is pretty much the going-rate for drinks all over Laganas. A frosted glass straight from the freezer adds a nice touch. Elena takes care of the day to day running of the complex, and Yianni also runs a big game fishing business as a sideline, he will take you out in his boat hopefully to catch tuna, swordfish and the like. As for the cost, I'm sure he'll fill you in if you're interested. You're free to come and go as you please, and nothing is too much trouble for the owners. The establishment is situated a five to ten minute walk from the top end of the strip(it's one of the first drop-offs and about 10-15 minutes drive from the airport). Laganas does attract a lot of the under 30's, so you will see plenty of youngsters in small and a few larger groups. One point to mention is that quad-bikes are available from at least five different hirers on the strip, and they are extremely popular with the younger element! Just be careful when crossing the road. Lots of bars with my favourite being Niko's at the top end of the strip. Food here is excellent and good value too. The beach is a good 15-20 minutes walk all the way along the strip. A sandy beach and quite busy whenever I checked it out. As a resort it's very friendly, and I had no problems wandering back to the Borsalino after midnight. As I mentioned before it is tucked away down a country lane, but once you get your bearings it's easy enough to navigate your way around. All in all I would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you appreciate a more intimate, friendly atmosphere. When you leave you are seen back on to the coach, which picks you up right outside. Lots of people come back to the Borsalino, and I can understand why. You are well looked after throughout the whole of your stay here, and I have nothing but praise for the lovely couple who run this gem of a place!

Room Tip: All apartments here have a pool view.

From the moment we arrived Eleanor made is feel very welcome
The rooms were very simple but very clean and had a lovely view of the ample pool area
The food was very good and fresh which prepared herself
But don't ask for boiled eggs and soldiers as this is her Achilles heal!!
We were there with 3 other people Steve Julie and Jamie who we had a real laugh with! As Eleanor has a great sense of humour and understands our humour too her husband is also really friendly guy.
A real oasis away from the centre of laganas which is full of youngsters say no more !! Book here with confidence

A great place to stay in Laganas about 150yds from the top end of the strip so no traffic noise, We stayed in a standard typical greek self catering apartment which was very clean and comfortable, The Host and Hostess are a lovely close family and have built the place from scratch over the last 23 years and are passionate about keeping the place in tip top order and keeping their guests happy and having a great time. The pool is a credit Yiannis surrounded by palm and coconut trees and beautiful landscape grounds. Eleanors Full english breakfast 5 Euro's is the best on the Island, the food and bar are excellent value for money. about 10 mins transfer from airport, 15 mins walk to the beach, loads of action for all ages in Laganas, We had a great holiday and would not stay anywhere else in Zante. If you are into extreme sports and there are enough of you Yiannis runs Big game fishing Marlin Tuna etc www.biggamefishingzante.com if your brave enough. Fred and Maggie Mansfield. May 2014

Arrived at the apartments to greeted by the lovely Eleanor who showed us to our room which was lovely and clean and looked out on to the swimming pool. We met Eleanors husband, Yannis, later, a great fella with a good sense of humour. Throughout our stay we were made to feel very welcome. The food that we ate there, though we we went eating out most of the time, was excellent. I would have no hesitation in reccomending Borsalino Apartments and we will be going again next year.
