we stayed in march for a week and had a great time the resort has everything from Indoor pool, steam room, spas, beautiful outside pool, a games room, BBQ it really is nice for familys or just a couple, The Staff were so friendly and helpful, the resort it self was very clean and the villas were just lovely, all self contained, it was like home away from home, very secure, we will be back again.

Room Tip: we had the one bedrooom villa and it was just perfect for the two of us

we had a really relaxing stay, was here for 10nights and enjoyed everyday and made use of the swimming pool, at night the lights make it romantic looking. The fitness room was closed the entire time and the indoor heated pool was cold. The chlorine is very very strong managed to fade both my daughters bathers and cant rid the smell after a few washes :(
Our unit was co-joined behind a smaller unit, so we had to walk past the front unit which has windowed doors that offer not much privacy but luckily no-one was in the front unit during our stay. There is an internal thin wooden door (secured shut) off the kitchen that leads to the connecting front unit. it would have been a concern had we had people staying there as we are a rowdy bunch sumtimes lol As we later discovered all the apartments have this design.
We received room cleaning every 3 days which was great, beds made and towels, soaps, rubbish bags, tea coffee sugar all refreshed. So glad the weather wasnt too hot as the airconditioning comes thru ceiling vents and could feel it after quite a few hours, too noisy at night to have running as bed is right under the vent. Loved all the birds that gathered in our courtyard, every morning the kids would feed them leftover chicken, cold meats and corn. Would come back again :)

Room Tip: water pressure is weak for spa and showering , if you have longish hair its frustrating

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The team at Royal Woods Resort are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you would come back again.
The Exercise Room is always locked as a precaution against young children getting in and injuring themselves. There is a sign on the door that explains to ask for the key at reception if you would like to use the room.
Unfortunately our indoor heated pool was affected by the recent storms here in Queensland and we are waiting on a new heater which will be installed very soon. After reading your comment regarding the chlorine level in the indoor pool we asked our pool maintenance company to come out immediately to rectify the problem.
The majority of our villas have an interconnecting door to accommodate larger families. It is not our practice to place other guests in the section of the villa which is not being used as our guests’ privacy is paramount.
Your comments about the air conditioning being too loud in the bedroom and the water pressure being too low in that particular villa are appreciated because it has bought these issues to our attention. Our maintenance team is looking into the cause.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the resort next time you are on the Gold Coast.

I stayed at Royal Woods for a couple of days over New Years with my sisters and their families. We needed somewhere safe and tolerant for the kids, but us adults (in our 20s) still wanted somewhere close to the city where we could have a good time. Royal Woods was absolutely perfect. The kids loved the pool with its waterfall feature - had to drag them out - and the separate two-storey villa meant they could let loose a bit without noise affecting other guests. Plus, the layout meant the adults had room to have time out at night with music and laughter without waking the kids up. Royal Woods is family friendly, but not "family orientated" like one other reviewer suggested. I'd definitely stay there again without the ankle-biters. Furnishings, bathrooms, kitchens are all wonderful. Excellent customer service too - I realised when I got home that I'd left my glasses behind, and they were great about finding them and sending them back to me.

Room Tip: Don't get stuck on a fold-out couch - great for the kids but not if you weigh more than 40kgs!

We had a 3 bedroom villa (2 bedroom apartment + 1 bedroom apartment with connecting door). Kitchen amenities sparse but adequate for our needs. Stove in 2 bedroom, benchtop hotplates in 1 bedroom. Corner spa in 1 bedroom unit, large bathroom with single spa bath as ensuite off main bedroom and separate bathroom with shower in 2 bedroom apartment.
Television in each of the lounge areas - no televisions in bedrooms - which wasn't really a problem for us. Sofa beds in lounge areas - cost us an extra $35 a night to have bed linen for sofa bed. Housekeeping every three days - just change of towels really - did not change bed linen.
Loved the quiet - backyard with bush visited by kookaburras and magpies. Outside pool not enormous but much larger than than the average motel - we found most afternoons we had it to ourselves which was nice. Normal size inside heated pool, a small wading pool, two spas and two small games rooms (one for preschooler age) also available in the pool area. Pool closes at 8pm which we found disappointing.
About 10 to 15 minutes away from theme parks and about 20 minutes from Surfers which we found convenient. Shopping centre just a few minutes down the road which was useful - a couple of restaurants there including Sushi train which was also useful so close to the resort.

Lovely quiet, peaceful, and relaxed setting. The antithesis of what you imagined the Gold Coast is like. No schoolies or drunken larrikins to keep you awake at night. Much more family orientated. I stayed there for more than 6 months and found it a wonderful place to stay. The villas are huge and good value for money if you are a family. Furnishings a bit dated, however everything is clean, tidy and functional, and the staff are very helpful. Surrounded by lovely gardens with lots of native birds, the Royal Woods is a little oasis in Ashmore. Nice and secure I felt quite comfortable letting my niece walk round the complex by herself, and there are several families who stay there long term so she had lots of little friends to play with. Would recommend it to anyone seeking quiet secure accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers and Broadbeach.

Room Tip: I would recommend booking a two bedroom or three bedroom villa because they come equipped with a ful...

Had an excellent stay here, visiting my parents who live nearby in a retirement village. Was upgraded to a corner spa suite, which was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Yes, the decor is a bit 80's but bed was comfy, air conditioning cold and shower and bath water hot and plentiful. The unit was well equipped with kitchenware and crockery etc and clean.
It was very tranquil and I enjoyed waking up to sounds of birds and views of greenery. Not sure how quiet it would be during peak school holidays, but probably quieter than a hotel room. Beach is around 15 - 20 mins drive, but for families who wish to visit Gold Coast theme parks, resort close to access to main highway. If you want to be right at the beach, this may not be the property for you, but if you are going to explore the general area, its location is excellent and the price is right. Appreciated the generous, free welcome breakfast basket and the friendly welcome and departure by Donny at reception.

So peaceful, waking up to chirping birds not traffic or other guests coming home in the early hours of the morning. It is a gated complex but they still have security guards that patrol throughout the night which makes you feel extremely safe. We stayed in a corner spa suite which was extremely spacious and my Sister, her husband and their children stayed in a 3 bedroom villa which was bigger than their own house!!! I was hesitant about staying after reading some of the other reviews but I can honestly say we all loved it here. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful, they go above and beyond with their service. We all loved the waterfall over the pool and the spa's were great, we used the cold spa for daytime & the heated spa for early evening. There is a bus stop only a few minutes walk from the resort which was quite handy too as I had to catch the bus one day while my partner had our car. All in all, we all had a fantastic weekend and we have all booked the same room types for 5 nights over the Christmas holidays. We look forward to seeing all the smiling faces once again.

Room Tip: Corner spa suites with balcony also the 3 bedroom villas
