Owner description: Voted one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist destinations, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the crown jewel of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) [NTAQ] properties. As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: dedication to conserving our nation's Indigenous, natural and historic heritage and culture. With Blinky Bill now present for daily shows, the amazing viewing experiences available at the Wildlife Hospital and hundreds of native Australian animals on display in natural bushland and rainforest settings, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the ultimate holiday adventure for the entire family.

“A surprising delight - a great family day out”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

My NZ-based family had travelled to the GC to do the theme parks, and we joined them for the weekend from Melbourne. It was decided to do something completely different, and we settled on Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (CWS).

I purchased tickets via the CWS website, which was a little glitchy, however a quick phone call to Guest Services ironed these problems out. Half of our party travelled via car, and the rest took a public transport bus from Broadbeach (#700), a 30 min-ish trip which dropped us at the door.

The Sanctuary is a delightful outing, with a great range of activities for toddlers through to adults. Half our group did the Adventure Ropes, which is an excellent yet challenging activity. Two of the eight year olds managed the green course, and another nine year old managed to do all green and one of the blue. A good level of fitness and agility will stop you feeling sore the next day (like I do today!). It really encourages problem solving and good communication and we loved it.

The wildlife is well looked after and all the facilities well maintained and cleaned. Staff are friendly and engaged and overall the experience is well priced.

“No Tasmanian Tigers.”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Fantastic family day can be had by all from 5 year olds to 80 year olds, every one catered for. From tree top adventures to train rides. Try a segway tour to the crocodile feeding event or get your photo taken with a snake. Maybe eel feeding is more your style as opposed to a chat with a friendly water dragon. It's all here, bring your picnic basket and save yourself from a heart attack by avoiding the kiosk food.
Be prepared to walk, climb and fly.

“a bird's paradise”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Go early to the free bird feeding. Just don't park in the carpark opposite as there is a fee, but only early mornings (so much for free!).

Many shows, all animal based, and all are informative and entertaining.
Food is reasonable, probably better than most attraction on the Gold Coast.
Beautiful park surrounds, and a cute adventure park. Actually two, one for kids and one for serious adults (at extra cost).

Well worth paying the entrance fees to see everything. Lorikeets, crocodiles, koalas, kangaroos, dingos, animal hospital, water birds and eels, and much more. A great day for kids and adults alike.

“Australiana Sheep shearing show and Snake photo opportunity”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

The sheep shearing show in particular was the most informative and entertaining show I have seen in years. Tee and the crew at the Sanctuary were fantastic and I recommend anyone travelling to the Gold Coast that this show is a must see. Thanks Tee.
There's a fee to get into the Sanctuary ($33 currently on the net - adults at kids prices usually $49!)
Once in the park all the attractions are free!
