“Better than average but not very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

Rang late Sunday. Inside booked out. Outside available. Done.
Arrived and could see our table under a large canopy with two other tables. Developers are upgrading the shopping complex. Will be great when finished but a slightly noisy diesel generator was a bit off putting (not the restaurants fault).
Menu, water for the table, wine glasses. Waitress a delight. Chose curry puffs, steamed dimmies as starters. Presented beautifully. Puffs very good. Dimmies also lovely.
Different waitress, just as nice made some suggestions.
Belacan vegetables, a serve of crackling pork and steamed rice. No spinach left so would we like bok choy. Ok.
Arrived. Nicely presented but the pork was a bit light on size wise (for the price). Maybe it was our choice but both mains were not to our liking. The belacan was a bit bland. Not much crackling on the pork but sauce was beautiful. We were offered a complimentary coconut jelly desert but declined. Nice touch though.
We enjoyed the night but maybe would order differently next time. Nearly $60 for two isn't a "cheap and cheerful".

“OUT OF KEEPING with other review experiences”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2013

felt like something a bit different and guided off the rave reviews we plugged it into the sat nav and found it easily although we arrived at the back kitchen door small carpark, not knowing the main entrance and carpark was around the otherside. no biggie but although the pork roll entre was great it went downhill from there and mains were poor or average. my wifes combination choy mein was reasonable but not outstanding. my salt and pepper pork ribs was awful. dried out and the chilli, shallots and onion section of the salt and pepper component was gluggy and soft with no real kick. oh how do i miss the old chilli spicy malaysian hut form the old burleigh theatre arcade. patrick where are you now my son? sorry reminiscing of what this should have been.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2013

This is a very small friendly run business and the staff are very obliging we arrived late one evening just as they were finishing up in the kitchen and the owner went back into the kitchen just to cook for us. Good variety of food chinese, malaysian and Thai with some creativity.

“BEST MALAYSIAN ON THE COAST”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2013

This place is seriously the best Malaysian!!
The restaurant is ok, very old and quiet restaurant with no flashy trimmings - very basic. However the food makes up for this!
