If you’ve been looking for the perfect place to take your clothes off and enjoy the vacation of a lifetime, look no further. At Hidden Beach the staff greets you with the phrase “Welcome Home,” and it’s the truth. We just spent 5 days there and the first thing we did when we got home was cry from missing it so much. The next thing we did was take our clothes off so we’d feel as we felt at HBR. We are first-timers. After doing the research, we decided to book HBR. We did NOT want to wind up in a sex resort, nor in a trailer park, nor on a public beach with some random assortment of nut jobs and voyeurs, nor in a place that allowed children. In talking to a few of the folks who were repeat guests at HBR, we learned that this place is in fact unique in our part of the world. Most of them had a horror story or two about winding up in a place where overt acts of sex were common, or even if prohibited, ignored by the management. This was not the case here. Everyone, guest and staff alike, always conducted themselves as ladies and gentlemen. You and your partner may enjoy the privacy of your suite with each other, but once across the threshold, you’ll be as un-harassed and as comfortable as were Adam and Eve in Eden. Now to the resort proper. HBR was without a doubt the cleanest and best maintained facility we have ever stayed in. This includes posh Hiltons and all the rest of those. The housekeeping staff and the grounds crew get an extra star. Our room was amazing. Beyond perfect. Even as the smallest suite offered, we felt as if we were in a palace. The bed was firm and comfortable and the bathroom was so clean, so beautiful, and so well designed it was hard to get in the pool or the sea. You could easily drown in the shower it’s so good. (We actually stole the shower from our suite and plan to have it installed here in our home in Texas). Be advised that a swim-up or a balcony suite is highly desirable at HBR. Not all suites have walk-outs. You will need water shoes to use the beach here. The beach is coarse sand, high in coral content, with a rocky bottom. Bring the zapatos para el agua, as the water is unbelievably clear and clean and warm. There’s a spot where you can sit on the sandy bottom in two feet of water and feed the hundred or so beautiful, colorful tropical fish that will swim all around you. The on-site restaurant is very good with some surprisingly delicious offerings. It’s perfect for breakfast and lunch, and if you don’t want to hassle with dressing for dinner and going next door to one of the Dorado restaurants, you’ll get a very nice dinner outside on the patio with five-star service. Be advised that half or more of the guests would sport a see-through cover up or maybe a pair of shorts to dinner or breakfast when on-site. Others were totally au-natural. If you just can’t eat in the raw, it’s cool to “dress” for dinner. Personally, I found a g-string or thong under a light open shirt to be perfectly comfortable and appropriate. My lady did the fishnet cover-up and man did I enjoy my dinners. You don’t need to take the evening party themes and costumes too seriously unless you’re a hard care disco lover. The crowd was light for the late night dancing, but do keep in mind we visited during the off season and the repeat guests did agree that the dancing crowd can be larger and louder depending upon the occupancy rate. I’m told groups of Brits and Aussies are the wildest. Go figure. Costumes, if any, were usually minimalist in construction and usually unrestrictive and, shall we say, transparent? HBR is a small, 42 room resort as you know from your reading. Among other things, this means that you will easily meet other guests and build friendships during your stay. It also means that the staff gets to know you very quickly and they take very, very good care of you. Introduce yourself to them as if you were meeting a new friend, because you’re doing just that. The core group of professional waiters and bartenders are veterans at HBR. Galdino, Luis, Jesus, Angel, Alberto, and Augustin rival any tuxedo wearing French SOB you can name. These guys made the trip be the most luxurious, fun, and comfortable that’s possible anywhere. I personally suggest you reward them handsomely, as you can afford it and they absolutely deserve it. By the way, I can’t remember everyone nor name them all here. I would call out our chambermaid Rosie who left us way too many towels every day, and each of the ladies in reception (I’d like my son to marry one of them). Absolutely everyone is top notch. AND…no one ever checks out your junk. They have been well trained, even the grounds crew, to treat you with total respect and provide nothing less than a world-class fully-naked freaking-AWESOME vacation. Now enough of this. I suggest you go ahead and call and make your deal. If you’re new at this like were last Saturday, of if you’re not sure you’re cute enough, like will never be, or if you have any other fears about getting naked at Hidden Beach, lay it all aside and jump in. We will NEVER go back to Disneyland, that’s for sure.

Room Tip: The 1200 building was lovely and the 1100 building was closer to the disco.

I recently stayed at Hidden Beach Resort (08/06-08/11) with a group of friends and when I say this treated me like a Queen Im not over exaggerating. The wait on you hand and foot from the moment you walk through the gates. The grounds were very well maintained and when I went running every morning Ancieto in the dining room would already know what I wanted to have for breakfast. Ms America that sits at the front desk as well as Miguel were very helpful informing me when other guests in our party arrived. The rooms are GORGEOUS offering peace and serenitly for when you need it in the AM after a long night of partying. The food was great and their ability to accomodating such a large group in a short time was very gracious of them. This was my 2nd time in Mexico but 1st at Hidden Beach Resort and definitely will not be my last!!! Hats off for such STELLAR service.

Room Tip: Always go with the Oceanview rooms.

My boyfriend and I frequent this resort at least once a year and we love it!!! We've been going for about 3+ years now and won't go anywhere else! The service is amazing from the moment you step in the lobby....American and Camila are very nice and always have a smile on their faces!! :-) While out by the pool or beach relaxing, Esperanza is the best ever!!! She has been there for over 10 years and just gets better as the years go on! She remembers my drink a year later and remembers us by name!!! Aldo is the face of the entertainment! He is absolutely amazing...he's funny, comes up with great activities to get everyone involved....especially with pool volleyball twice a day!!! That's our favorite time of the day!!! :-) Then you have the waiters....Jesus, Miguel, Anecito, Porfino, Galdino. (I'm drawing a blank.....sorry for those who I forgot!) Then theres the amazing bartenders...Carlos and David!!! And who can forget Joshua.....the amazing massage therapist!!! Check it out!!! ;-)

Room Tip: The swim ups are beautiful, but the regular rooms are bigger. There are 4 dome rooms which are the same size as the regular rooms, but you have a cathedral ceiling which is also very nice!

Our second time to the resort and it just keeps getting better, except for the Cancun airport (which they can't do anything about. No trouble getting through check in and security (took only 10 minutes), but the waiting area was quite hot.

HBR workers were outstanding, especially Miguel (who placed a great game of volleyball), the boss, America (her real name), Ingrid, who ran the entertainment activities, Alberto and Esperanza at the pool bar, Angel and Jesus of the waiter group (sorry that I probably missed a few, even Ana who tried (nicely) to show us the advantage of their "club" were perfecto.

Rooms were nice, clean and everything worked well. The food was quite good and we used the option to eat at the El Dorado Seaside Suite (next door) for dinner for 5 of the 12 nights we stayed. Their Italian restaurant was first class.

Room Tip: Say Hi to Ingrid for us. Stay in ground floor room that opens to an extension of the pool. Place is small enough that location really doesn't matter.

We always have a great time here. All the same staff are still there and remember our names. With seven restaurants we ate at a different restaurant every night. Being all inclusive I expected cheap liquor and light drinks. That can not be further from the truth, it was all top shelf and the drinks were great. The activities staff go out of there way to include folk in the games and dont forget the Vollyball with special HBR Rules lol we played twice a day and had a blast.

We brought a couple of friends with us this trip and they have not stopped talking about HBR. They are planning to go back for her birthday in October.

Pam and Chris

Room Tip: Get a swim up room, you will not regret it.
