It is after all a motorcamp, and I was only staying here beacuse the tripadvisor reviews of other places in Dargaville were bad. Were I to return, i would try one of those other places. Reception was very casual ("it's over there, here's the key"); room very basic, and not at all value for money. RTook the entire night, with the heater on full, to take the chill off the air.
The township itself was much friendlier than Kaitaia (my last stop before here), and well worth exploring, even if it does only take an hour. The riverside garden is also well worth a look, and gives you a good grounding of what Dargaville is all about.
Check out the Celtic Fare for a greast coffee and rectangular scones.
