Very convenient for diving activities , combined with confortable housing and rich cuisine.
Get the "beachfront" rooms for best experience. Rooms backward are quiet but with poor view.

A revisit after 2 years simply meant reliving the great time I had earlier, with a lot more additions and improvements. A new sports bar and improved dive centre have since been added which will be most welcomed by scuba divers. A PADI 5 star and Nat Geo centre, they have their own boats for dive trips and the new dive centre managers are bringing some new zing to the already great dive experience.
The restaurant now boasts a new menu which, at first glance, looks like a photo book. Having tried a good range of their offerings, I must say 'YES' to all their sumptuous food though my waist protests. The restaurant staff are attentive to their customers' needs and are quick attend to any needs (practical ones, of course). Just inform them if you have any special dietary needs and they will do their very best to accommodate.
The entire resort area is well maintained and kept clean daily. Security is also present 24/7, so safety is well assured. The rooms have been done up since my last visit and kept clean. However, time spent at this resort is best kept outdoors and not wasted in the rooms. The beach is simply awesome and the fishing villages with friendly locals surround this resort. All this also provides ample photographic opportunities.

Rooms are nice, comfortable, quiet, some even with a terrace...
Dive Center is highly professional: the young swedish couple taking care of it, Becca and Joa are highly qualified and experienced, very friendly, helpful, and extremely customer oriented service.
The standars they apply are amongst the highest on the business, as it should be: safety first!
They group of Divemasters and Instructors are just amazing: they have been on the place for years, and they could even find the smallest shrimps on a night dive if the lights failed! They have been around so they can show you every little fish you would never find: little cleaning shrimps, sea moths, lion fish, mantas, cuttelfish, thresher sharks on the early morning dive!, little octopuss, frog fishes, sea horses hidding in the corals, little nudis, mandarin fishes, and many more!
They have a special room to store/dry equipment, cleaning/rinsing area, complimentary coffee station, Nitrox area, store room for their equipment, teaching room, dive shop, all very nicely painted and decorated!
They have 4 big boats and 4 or 5 smaller boats for small groups, so you'll have enough to chose from, and enough room for everyone! The captains and the crew are very helpful and caring before and after the dives.
It's been in Malapascua for some time, and everybody knows what he's doing, which is nice!!

Stayed 2 nights at the Exotic Island Resort. Didnt dive, didnt swim. Just relaxed, ate, drank and enjoyed precious moments. The full fledged restaurant and bar has a wide selection from western and asian menus to cater to most tastes. Not fine dining but we were here for the whole rustic feel.
The boat that took us there from Cebu landed right at the doorstep of the resort and was such a sight to behold after the long 3 hour ride from the airport to the Jetty. The boat trip itself was a short 30-40 minutes.
Sunrise is real early here and by six the sun is above the horizon lending gleaming rays onto the sea and the beach. Moments are best at this time, not too hot and the salty wind in your face. What I loved most was the quietness of it all, no beach vendors to harass you and yet have all the full facilities at arms reach. Wifi is free but not quite reaching the rooms, but at the beach area was still okay.
Also indulged in a 2 hour massage at the expert hands of Susan and Wilma (?) as a precursor to a good night's sleep. Rooms were large and clean with working hot water. Water is clean but salty from the well.
The personal care of the owner shows through the Filipino hospitality of the staff at the resort who takes care of all your requirements.
Apparently the owner is developing a higher end sister resort in Kerikite Island and I can't wait to visit one day.
This is my second time staying in this resort in 2 years. I find the quality of the rooms and service have improved. The bed sheets are clean and ALL the amenities in the room worked. Most seaside resorts would deteriorate over time but not this one. The owner of the resort is very friendly. This is easily the best resort on this Island.
The food is very good and the restaurant staff are very attentive.
We were there for a break, not for diving but we may come back and learn how to dive. This Resort is highly recommended.
This year the 4th time at Exotic for me. For me this is the top of the bill. Excellent reception. The restaurant is extremely good. Compliments. Rooms are outstanding (not cheap but you'll get what you pay for). If you want private transport from Cebu to Exotic everything will be arranged for you (really not cheap though!). But my main reason I come back is diving. This is it. You can choose from several very experienced dive guides. I have my own preference. Thank you again Paul for an amazing time underwater, you are on my top list of dive guides. Simply the best!!! The crew on the boats is fantastic. They are friendly and will assist you in every way you want and more. They will do everything to make it all easy diving. They know how to handle professional cameras (my weights over 20kg!) I will go back for sure.. Thanks to all the crew, staff and especially Paul my diveguide.
